Batch Payments - Customise Batch Payment Printout
On our batch payment printout auditors want someone to sign them off and say they've randomly verified bank accounts. Is there any way to customise the batch payment printout to include:
1. Random bank accounts verified (with tick box)
2. Signature area
3. Name of Person Signing off

Xero with Stripe: Support for Afterpay payments
Now that Stripe offers Afterpay, it would be helpful to add Afterpay to Xero's native Stripe integration.
45 votesHi team, we're developing more ways to pay with Stripe!
Soon you'll have the option to offer Afterpay as a payment method to your customers which we know is important to all of you who've voted on this idea.
I'll round back to confirm when it's live and more detail of how to do this. 🙂

FX - Exclude currency gains when using currency bank account
Currently XERO record any FX unrealized gain or loss for outstanding foreign currency invoices and bills according to the exchange rate if the day when the invoice or bill is created and then calculate the unrealized gain or loss based on the daily rate movement. When the invoice or bill is paid, the actual gain or loss is then calculated and recorded as FX gain/loss based on the actual base currency amount received. This applies well to foreign currency invoices which are paid to a bank account in base currency.
However, this method should not apply to foreign currency invoices and bills that are paid into or out of a foreign currency bank account as there is no exchange gain/loss at this juncture as the foreign currency was not converted to base currency and the fx exposure is now in the foreign currency bank account. Only when you make a transfer from the foreign currency bank account to the base currency bank account (fx deal to convert the foreign currency to base currency) then the fx gain or loss is realized.

Bank Reconciliation - Improve date recognition for auto-suggestion
Reconciliation - when you have multiple payments of the same amounts over several days... Always selects the Invoice to the newest payment.. even tho the invoice date is the same as the first payment? seem like the system allocates backwards?.. We get lots of the same payments and Invoice totals and we have to always manually select/search for the invoice as the Auto reconciliation seems to not factor in Invoice date to Payment date as an option.

Invoice reminders - Automatically send invoice overdue notification to designated email address
So far I know Xero only have features of sending overdue invoice reminder to customers, but in absence of the feature I mentioned. This feature is good for the operation.
The invoice overdue days could be set by us and automatically send the notification to our preset email address once the overdue day came. So that, our customer services staff can easily be notified all the overdue invoice and doing their followup tasks.3 votes -
Payroll UK - See hourly rate for overtime pay items when employee is on an annual salary
We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.14 votes -
Reporting | Groups - Option to sort in alphabetical order
In the old reports, once the account was added to a subgroup, the account code would automatically be in alphabetical order. However, this is manual for the new reporting.
A good function would be to automate this in the new reports as well (per the old reports) rather than dragging and dropping manually.

Contacts - Better explanation for BankAccountNumber when importing
Better documentation for BankAccountNumber needed.
The documentation for importing contacts is not clear, specifically how to include banking details.
First time users, such as myself, could be greatly assisted if the documentation for the BankAccountNumber was described as <bsb><space><account number>.
I did a large number of documentation and Google searches before it clicked that the BSB and account number are both specified in the BankAccountNumber field. This is not obvious.
Thank you.

Customer Invoice Report - Ability to view separate columns for Credit Notes and Payment applied to invoices
The existing Customer Invoice Report has a "Paid" column. This column shows the payments allocated to an invoice. This column excludes any credits allocated to the invoice.
The new Receivable Invoice Summary report has a "Payments/Credits" column. This column shows the combined amount of payments AND credits allocated to an invoice.
I need to be able to run a report of invoices that shows ONLY payments allocated to each invoice. This is a crucial need for us. We need to know what amounts on invoices were paid by customers (i.e. payments) and what amounts on invoices were not paid by paid by customers (i.e. credit notes).
Not having this information available will break an essential business process for us. We will not be able to fulfil our contractual requirements to our agents, where we pay them commission based on payments made by our customers (and not on amounts cleared by credit notes).
Please include or add this information to this report.
I've already reported this to Customer Service, and they directed me here.

Xero Projects - Charge out Rates by staff member not by Task
It seems like a ridiculous hack to have to duplicate tasks for various staff members or charge out rates. eg TASK1(apprentice), TASK1(trade assistant), TASK1(Tradesman)...TASK2(apprentice) ...and so on.
The inability to organise 'tasks' into groups/ headings within a project is another obvious flaw and means that 'tasks' could functionally only really be used as 'major cost centres' rather than granular tasks, but even at a very top level breakdown, having those 'tasks' would get unwieldy very quickly.
I know that Xero Projects is a light weight add on, but that is also part of its appeal. So many other offerings eg. WorkFlowMAX try to take over the whole management of the business and have certain limitations or lack of flexibility that make them not be a good fit for our business.
For the per user cost of Xero Projects which has a mobile app with a decent enough implementation of timesheets, it seems strange and somewhat illogical to not have the ability to easily on-charge labour at a specified rate or markup.
If labour was treated just like 'expenses' that would make more sense in most cases.
Why should a 'task' have a charge out rate that is unrelated to the labour cost of the staff member performing the task?
If a project is on a fixed price quote then all you need to calculate is the real labour cost of the staff member and if is billed as 'tasks and expenses' as it is referred to in Xero Projects it really should be 'Labour and Expenses' (which is all it is anyway).
For invoicing this could either be added in as a single labour line item against a task as an aggregate amount of the various charge out rates, or it would be useful to have the option to invoice it broken down by staff member. The only decent work around I can think of is to manually enter charge out rates at time of invoicing with the 'Display hourly rate time as: Time entries' option selected...
Each staff member just needs to have an attribute of a 'charge out rate' set up in the same dialog box as their calculated cost/hr. Then that can be used as a selectable option at time of invoicing.
There is no need to even re-think the logic of 'tasks' having a charge out rate, just add this in an an optionIt seems like a ridiculous hack to have to duplicate tasks for various staff members or charge out rates. eg TASK1(apprentice), TASK1(trade assistant), TASK1(Tradesman)...TASK2(apprentice) ...and so on.

Xero to Xero - Send the attached files on the invoice
When sending invoices from Xero to Xero it doesn't attach the actual invoice in the draft bill as an attached so we don't have this invoice for record keeping purposes and can't even see if there's VAT or No VAT charged on the invoice as it is not attached to the bill. This needs to be added.
9 votesThank you for all sharing how we could keep improving your use of Xero and it's features. For those that haven't explored yet - we recommend considering if eInvoicing can serve your needs in this space. It's available now and incorporates even more functionality than Xero to Xero offers.
As we're developing new invoicing, our product team are looking at development to build the Xero to Xero network into new invoicing as well as considering enhancing it's functionality by allowing customers to include attachments when using this feature to send invoices. Right now we'll move to Under review and I'll be back when there's more news on this to share with you all.

Close periods for period reporting
Ability to close and lock a period for accounting and reporting purposes to ensure that, once figures are reported and published, those figures do not change. Any necessary changes (VAT rates, corrections etc) to source documents could be made but the impact should fall in the current, open period.
16 votesAppreciate raising your idea on the site, Katie.
Currently within Xero there is the ability to Publish a report that'll keep a copy of the report and it's data as at the date the report was run, as well as the ability for an adviser to set lock dates that'll stop transactions being raised or edited for past periods.
Do these 2 features fulfill what you're in need of here?

Bank reconciliation - Find and Match transactions to show Minor Adjustments variances
A setting in the backend to turn on/off to find and match transactions within a certain amount (i.e.-/+0.05).
These are usually (if not always a rounding adjustment). It's currently a 4-step process to add a minor adjustment.
Also, selecting minor adjustment or bank fee, can the difference auto populate in the amount field?!!

Profit & Loss - Include bills Awaiting Approval
We always have a significant number of bills "Awaiting Approval". As such our P&L is never accurate and for our large company it is out significantly.
It is the exception and rare that a bill will not be approved (ie didnt receive stock). Therefore the P&L would finally be closest and most accurate if it included "Awaiting Approval"
This should be included. If not then a button should be available so that the company can make this decision themselves and include the "Awaiting Payment" bills.
40 votesAppreciate how this would be beneficial for your business having assurity in an awaiting approvals likelihood.
With businesses having varying levels of assurity around this I want to be open that we don't have any direct intention fo changing reports like the P&L to automatically include this, however we'll begin to track the level of interest around this, here. Thanks

UK Payroll - Calculate leave in days
Create the option to use Days or hours for time off (holidays).
Holidays are often calculated in days or 1/2 days not hours.
Having this option for pay & pay rates would also be helpful and also on payslips62 votes -
AU Payroll - Payroll Activity Summary report to show unused annual leave paid
just like overtime wages, it's important to separate unused annual leave paid from regular annual leave paid because this will enable accountant to quickly cal-check whether super guarantee has been calculated/set up correctly. it's impractical or inefficient if we have to check all the pay item settings.

Bank Reconciliation - Templates for common split payments
TEMPLATE FOR COMMON SPLIT PAYMENTS
We need to be able to save a split payment as a template (like a bank rule)
eg: registration is always split with gst, no gst etc, let us save that transaction as a template for easy recon next time. Bank rule isnt helpfull as when you have 20 different regos being paid to the same company then a simple split template would be very helpful3 votes -
