  2. Allow the Xero app to take photos of receipts at the time of purchase. To reduce the number of steps to get a photo of a receipt attached to a transaction.

    Ideally then when reconciling credit card transactions, the receipts will already be in Xero and they would pop up as a suggestion, based on the date of the transaction with the date the photo was taken.

    It would also be ideal if you could view the receipt whilst coding, like it does when you are viewing a draft bill to pay.

  3. We are a professional services company and use the quote feature to outline our objectives, scope of work and deliverables for a potential new project. As such, we use the summary window to enter all this information.

    It would be very useful for us to be able to resize the summary window to view a larger portion of the text. Some of our descriptions can run to several paragraphs and as such, the ability to review more text would be incredibly useful.

    I hope this can be implemented with some simple coding.

  4. What happend -
    I imported invoices with an invalid account number. When I went to review the imported invoices in draft, the new invoicing AI technology selected suggested account codes for me, almost to fast for me to notice the account code was blank

    Why this is important -
    The "review draft invoices after import" step is critical in getting it right - I should be able to review exactly what I imported to see where the mistakes are. I can see this being an issue with integrations where invoices are imported via the API

  5. It would be extremely helpful to have a 'master' input at the top of each column of a quote / invoice / bill etc so that the master input is then auto-populated under that column heading for all line-items of the quote / invoice / bill.

    For instance, my sales code is likely to be the same for each item of a given invoice, and yet I need to input this code as many times as the number of line-items in the invoice - rather than just once. Same for eg tax code and, in my case, I have a…

  6. I would like to suggest adding the capability to generate Sankey diagrams within Xero. Sankey diagrams are highly effective in visualizing the flow of resources, such as money, energy, or data, through different stages or categories. They could be used to illustrate cash flow, revenue distribution, and expense breakdowns in a more intuitive and engaging way.

    By adding Sankey diagrams, Xero could offer users a more dynamic and insightful view of their financial data, helping them better understand how money moves through their business, leading to improved decision-making and reporting.

    Interesting idea and good to hear the different visualisations that'd help our customers understand their business, Paul. This isn't something we have immediate plans for but will be good to get a understanding of the interest from the community here.

  7. Allow casual, one off, expense claims WITHOUT needing to purchase the "Expenses" subscription.

    I am the treasurer of a Men's Shed and, occasionally, members use personal funds (either card or cash) for Shed expenses, generating an expense claim. These are rare, usually one off, and might not occur again.

    Could an exception be allowed for this, within the software, that would allow a one off expense to be recorded? This could then then trigger the need to purchase the "Expense" module if that person had any future expense claims within, say, 12 or 18 months.

  8. A type of tax code should be possible in which the tax is subtracted from, rather than added to, the invoiced amount for that line item.

    Rationale: Many countries require that a foreign supplier's invoice be subject to withheld tax if the supplier doesn't have a satisfactory tax treaty entitlement.

    Example:

    We use a reverse-invoice process for our Australian supplier to record payments due to them based on our activity. This activity often attracts a royalty fee that we must pay.

    The UK requires us to withhold 5% of this royalty fee, and pay this over HMRC quarterly.

  9. It would be very useful to be able to search bank rules for an account code, since account codes cannot be archived/deleted if there is an associated bank rule. I eventually found the relevant bank rule but it was very time consuming to go through each bank rule individually - there can be hundreds of bank rules.

  10. In the old reports, once the account was added to a subgroup, the account code would automatically be in alphabetical order. However, this is manual for the new reporting.

    A good function would be to automate this in the new reports as well (per the old reports) rather than dragging and dropping manually.

  11. Immediately after creating an invoice, you approve it, then a series of boxes appears at the bottom of the screen allowing you to receive the payment. Once payment is applied you can send the receipt to the customer. This is ESSENTIAL for accepting cash payments or any payment made at the time of delivery but before sending the invoice. Please add this feature from OLD invoicing to New invoicing.

    Hi Fiona, it's not necessary to send an invoice before adding a payment. Once an invoice is created in new invoicing the default option is 'approve and send' but 'approve' can be selected instead. A payment can then be added and receipt sent, with a similar workflow to classic invoicing.

    Atm there's no way to set the default approve option for an invoice. However, this has been raised as an idea across here if you'd like to add your vote. 🙂

  12. I have successfully managed to create a custom report.

    I now want to add on rows which give me the opening and closing balance each month to get a 12 month cashflow. Is there a way I can do this from the statement of cash flows (using the cash and cash equivalents at beginning and end of period)

    When I try to add rows to my custom report it doesn't seem to offer to add, but only to group item is this something that could be considered.

    I send out reports to my departments each month, this morning it took 4 hours to add the tracking codes to the new P & L reports (we love the new report and so do our Department Heads).
    I was wondering if there is a way of saving each custom report for each individual dept with their tracking within a folder. We have a Junior and Senior Campus and about 45 departments at each.     There's no facility to create folders in the Reports Centre for this sort of categorisation atm.

  14. Unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to see the Item Code or Tracking Code fields on a saved invoice? They are there in Edit mode, but not when viewing a saved invoice? We don't need to include these columns on the invoice sent to clients, but do need to be able to see them for internal use without having to go into edit mode. Until we can do this, we won't be able to switch to the new invoicing.

    Hi team, apologies we haven't updated this idea sooner. Our product team made a change to the approved grid view a fem months ago, where now you'll see Item code and Tracking as separate columns once the invoice is approved to make it easier to review your information. We appreciate your feedback here and sharing through product ideas.

  15. Please allow payments to be made to an employee after they have left and their P45 has been generated. Sage, for example, allows you to include past employees in a pay run and tick a 'payment after leaving' box which gives the correct 0T tax code and produces the correct FPS submission for HMRC. This is a very basic part of payroll that needs to be included in this system, the option to create a new employee file in order to pay them is not complying with HMRC and is not an acceptable alternative.

Bank Transfers - they are great and easy - but it would be awesome if we could just improve them in the following ways - some of these suggestions incorporates other suggestions - but thinking if you are working on improving this functionality - it would be great to do it all at once.   17. A 'select all' feature to approve all unapproved timesheets would be great.
    8 plus years now of having to tick in a tiny box for all my casual/part-time staff is getting a little tedious, especially when a slight error opens the timesheet up and you have to then back out of the page to start all over again.
    It shouldn't be too hard from a coding point of view should it?

  18. I have multiple 2018 bills to pay generated from the US Xero Payroll feature that I can not delete nor apply credit memos to. Those were always "locked" bills. I've been trying to void or zero out these bills for years and apparently, there is no way to actually do this. I've spent hours with customer support to no avail. Please put something in place to allow users/me to accomplish this task. My AP bills are messy and my cash basis balance sheet is messy.     Hi team, we appreciate your input in Product Ideas and the idea shared here. Since US payroll was removed from Xero in 2019 we don't have any plans for making changes in the product for this.

    We understand it's not the ideal solution however if you have tax bills or payroll transactions that weren't marked as paid before Payroll was decommissioned, you can post manual journals to adjust the balance of the relevant accounts.

    While you can post manual journals to most accounts in Xero, there are some exceptions such as accounts payable. You'll need to use other methods to make adjustments to these account balances we have some help to guide you on this in Xero central.

  19. Add an option to remove and redo transactions within the find and recode function.

    Purpose: To simplify users’ workflow from having to recode to another code, or individually search each transaction in account transactions, then remove and redo it again.

  20. It would be really useful if there was an options to tag or colour code invoices in the list view, so that at a glance we could see invoices grouped together for any given reason.

    For example most of my invoices are paid via direct debit, so I'd love a way to tag/colour code the invoices that have not yet signed up for the debit system, so that I can see at a glance how many I am still missing and who I need to follow up on.
