  1. Allow us to select 'reoccurring payment' in a repeating invoice for Gocardless in Xero.

    When Xero generates a repeating invoice that is setup for auto collection from Gocardless, it is classed as a new payment each time and sends the Gocardless customer an email everytime.

    In Gocardless when subscriptions were done through its own systems, they were classed as reoccurring payments and therefore as per BACS rules, the customer does not need to be informed everytime payment is taken.

  2. I would prefer that the dates displayed on the Payroll Activity Details & the Payroll Employee Summary reports are the beginning and of the pay period.
    I have found that some of my clients get confused with the way those reports are currently issued, using the payment date.

  3. Sort 'customer or supplier' list by account number from the drop down menu, (not the same as the search function).
    The account number field is a unique identifier to any customer or supplier record. Having this function should be a necessity as it is with most other software.
    In many cases the account number field is overlooked in Xero from the users point of view, yet it underpins the whole database for many people and connecting software/apps.

  4. The Account Transactions tab has very weird information presented. I need to see either the Description from the Transaction or the Expense Account account it's hitting. I see neither.

    In the Description Column of the Account Transaction Tab, you have the vendor/contact, not the Expense Description. In the Reference Column, you have the bank reference, which is fine, but it's a duplicate of the vendor info. You're leaving me with no useful information about the transaction.

    Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll. 

    We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.

    While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.

    We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

  6. I am trying to add a list of inventory items to a project quickly, to estimate cost, is there an easy way to upload an excel sheet with all the inventory items & quantities?

    I need to add multiple items like over 60 each with their own quantity... Can I upload a list? Instead of individual listing?

  7. It would be good if there was a warning if an adviser user inadvertently enters a date in a prior accounting period which has been locked. For example year end is 31 Dec 2022 and a current year bill is entered as 17/11/22 instead of 17/11/23

  9. Ability to add bigger better quality logo's at the top of the body of invoices sent as emails.

    132 px x 37 px ends up so tiny and always blury (I have tried all formats but some sort of extra compression is going on in the backend. Don't look so good for us graphic designers ;-)

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest in being able to display logos as you need. There are a few different situations mentioned in feedback here and we want to explain and help clarify how logos are shown when using Xero. 


    The first is how your organisations logo is shown within the invoice email sent to your customer. This is taken from the organisation settings page. There was a period that impacted some customers where the logo quality was being reduced when sending with new invoicing. Taking on board feedback our team implemented a change in new invoicing so this should now be appearing correctly - If you’re finding your logo quality is not showing correctly in the invoice email please do raise a case with our team and they can investigate more on this with you individually.

  10. I feel that there is a poor level of dialogue from Xero on these ideas. For the top voted topics - I'd like communication as to what they're doing to implement a solution (and if not then why not).
    For the ideas that are years old but still receive steady votes - what's happening?

    Hi everyone, I appreciate feelings shared in not seeing traction as fast as you'd like to ideas you're interested across Xero Product Ideas. 

    Our community team are pure advocates for our customers ideas internally, making sure these are shared and highlighted to the teams and individuals that can make a difference, and doing our best to get ideas reviewed and into our teams planning wherever possible. 

    We receive ideas for incremental, and large changes to existing products, as well as for new features entirely. With so many customers the range of ideas coming from our users is large, and we cannot action all things at once. 

    We try to be transparent in our communication and updates to ideas across the site, even if this means there is no current development planned for a feature.

  11. Discounts - the ability for the discounts in sales to be allocated to an expense account rather than distorting sales figures. At the moment each line item has the cost of the item then applies say 10% discount equals net which then is allocated to the sales account. I would like the option to allocate discounts to an expense called discounts given so that we can track and show the correct sales figures. By distorting sales figures you could be affecting calculations like WET. other programs allows you to setup discounts given & taken and freight even.

  12. If a staff member has Manager User access to a client file this doesn’t allow them to add users to a file with Payroll Admin unless they have Payroll Admin permissions.
    It would be good if people are allowed to MANAGE the access without necessarily having themselves.
    Can this idea please get implemented as it will avoid adding administrators with Payroll Admin permissions to our large client list when it isn’t required.

  18. I would love if when we merged Invoices into 1 from drafts it doesn't leave the draft that I need to manually go back and delete. This can cause double ups of Invoicing.

  19. Ability to upload changes to existing invoices via csv.

    Currently - When uploading a list of invoices that already exist, Xero will not allow the upload to continue. This feature would mean, that for any invoice that exists already, Xero would prompt the user whether they would like to update changes for existing invoices or not.

    Purpose example - For invoices that need to have changes applied, for example amending the due date to an agreed revised payment due date. This change would enable the user to bulk update instead of needing to open each invoice manually and edit each…
