  1. During the creation process, we should be allowed to update all fields necessary on the Contact record.

    Example I have at the moment is one of my customers needs to set their clients details within Xero so they can invoice them correctly. At the moment we can't use the API to set the Website field.

  2. Enable payments to a GL account.
    It would be awesome if there was a quicker way to enable/disable payments to an account. Or have an additional column on the COA so it's easy to see which have payments enabled. Alternatively, be able to run a report on this.

    Hi Lauren, you could export the Chart of accounts to be able to view which accounts have 'Yes' in the 'Enable Payments column. It's also possible to import this option in bulk, however I'd highly recommend doing a test in the demo company to ensure this'll work as you intend when importing back into the organisation. 

    Would this achieve what you're in need of here? 

  3. The History and Notes in Advanced Settings does not include the action of Emailing (or Sending) an Invoice (or any other document), yet this action appears on the individual Invoice History.

  7. We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

  8. Budget Variance Report for 12 months.

    Currently the budget variance report is restricted within a selected date range. If we are able to customize the budget variance for the below two options:

    Option 1: If there is an option to run the variance report for previous financial year for the 12 individual month with the actual and budget variance.

    Option 2: For current Financial Year, if there is an option to customize the monthly actual and budget variance report including the budget for the reminder of 11 months.

  9. There needs to be a better matching system with Xero.

    For example I have two statement lines that cancel each other out. You should be able to match two statement lines to each other rather than creating invoice/bill to reconcile each line.

    Additionally, being able to reconcile multiple statement lines with multiple invoices/bills, overpayments or prepayments needs to be a thing.

  10. I would like to be able to merge accounts (of the same type, ie expenses) to one account when there was two or more of the same account created.

    Example: Say you've converted from another accounting system, and there were sub-accounts that are all the same account - that you want to merge into one account. To be able to merge the accounts - without doing a Find and recode.

    Or, the client opened another expense account for something, and one already existed... to be able to merge the two would be a quicker solution instead of find and recode.

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate the interest in this idea we want to be upfront that there are no plans for adding the ability to merge accounts within the Chart of Accounts right now.

    Though noted in the original idea here I wanted to confirm that currently if you have the advisor role in the organisation there is the Find & Recode feature that with careful use could enable you to find and recode all transactions from one account to another so you can move all the transactions into one account before archiving or deleting the accounts you don't need.

    Alternatively, while it won't suit all use cases in relation to reporting - In financial reports, where you have multiple related accounts you could edit the layout to group these accounts.

    We'll continue to gauge the interest in this idea, and if there is any change we'll share with…

  11. My client has started using Projects which I'm finding not easy to use.

    We would like to assign bills directs to projects in Hubdoc.

    I also want to be able to give my client a list of bills that haven't been assigned. I can see this in bills to pay but its not printable/ exportable and there is no report that will give me this information.

    I would also like to include direct spends from bank feed instead of having to create a bill just so we can see its not assigned

  13. Invoice Only : User role - I would like more options assigned to this role. So they can issue payments by cheque. Similar to an accounts payable role. Currently, this user cannot issue cheques, even though Xero states this user can pay bills.

  14. With the recent changes to MFA dropping the remember devices from 30 days to 24 hours, the MFA prompt is now far more often (which is of course more secure) however it does slow down login.

    Could you please look at updating the MFA configuration to allow push notifications to the mobile authentication app, or better still the number match, which is far more secure. Examples from Microsoft is below, but the priciple would apply in most major platforms.

    This would improve the user experiance over the token, but also improve the security overall.

  17. To be able to add notes, to explain why Xero has imported an amount to the feed with a different date to the actual bank statement for example. I have to be able to explain to our accountant why the Xero bak balance is different to the bank statement. It shouldn't do this anyway but it does and I have no way of logging this date error. And add attachments (ie actual bank statements) to a published bank reconciliation, you can upload docs to any transaction but not the actual reconciliation??

    Great to hear you find the Report preferences handy, Andrew. So the team can get a pulse of what they should expand this feature to next, it's good to have a separate idea for each new element you'd like to see developed into this. I've slightly amended the title of your idea to reflect Comparison periods, but you're welcome to start new ideas for the other elements you'd like to set blanket application of. Thanks! 

  19. Upon capturing a supplier bill in Xero, is it possible to have Email option to send an acknowledgement to the supplier for accepting the bill? Email option is there in Invoice, same way can we have the feature enabled in Bills as well?

  20. When changing the year end for a client, it would be nice if previous year's could be locked in dates, fixed assets, etc.
    Once the year end is changed, it seems to amend the dates for the previous year in all reports too, if (for example) the new year end means the current "year" runs to 13+ months (such as when the year end is extended): it's hard to get the comparative period in any popular reports to show the previous year as it was filed.
    And especially in the TB, I can't get it to show a period for…
