Ability to have/add assembly inventory in Xero.
Purpose: Users who are selling parts of the whole inventory can easily manage this in Xero.
113 votesHi everyone, thank you for all your valuable insights of how we could improve Xero inventory to suit your business.
Atm, we don't have direct plans for providing capability to track assembly inventory within Xero, however our product team are doing some early testing of concepts for being able to bundle inventory in Xero.
Quite related to your interests here, we wanted to provide you the opportunity to be a part of this,
If you'd be interested in giving some time to share back with our team on their concepts please answer a few questions through our form here.✍️
This will be a limited pool, however we'll be back to share outcomes of this work with you all here.

Expenses: Date range for explorer report
The "Explorer" tab in the employee expenses section needs an option to set the date range.
At the moment it is pretty useless as I cant even see what date range it covers - presumably back to when we started using expenses mid way through the year 3 years ago?
It is not meaningful to compare spend by different employees, if I cant do it by month or quarter, when some employees have been using expenses for much longer than others.
An option to compare by employee for selected accounts, and to export to pdf/xls would also be really useful.3 votes -

Reports - One custom report to flow through all xero reports
Need a way to format the 'xero standard report and then have that formatting flow through to all of the common formats. It takes WAY too long to create SO many custom reports and it is restricting on reporting. We should be able to format the way we want the P&L to always show and then have that flow through to all reports.

GST Audit (Singapore) - Select Tax code display
Suggestions to improve the reporting of GST Audit Beta
Allow us to select which Tax Codes to display in report (default All)
Show the tax code in each row rather than as a report subheader. Useful when there are lots of records for some tax codes
I noticed that we can select Reference field for the columns, but not Invoice No. If the entry's Ref field is blank, the report shows the Invoice No. So this is misrepresenting the report, and showing inaccurate results as no one analysing the report would know if they are seeing the Ref no or the Inv no. Also in case of multiple invoices per project, we would end us seeing Ref no (showing same project no) but not the individual Inv no.

3 votesAppreciate the feedback here, community. I want to assure you product ideas in the forums here are a primary source for our product teams when planning development and diving deeper into improving the experience for our customers when using Xero.
I can understand it may feel that things aren't moving as quickly on ideas you'd like to see developed however you can filter ideas by Working on it to get a sense of ideas from our community that are being worked on, or Delivered for ideas we have released solutions for.
It really helps having only 1 idea per post in the forums here so others in community understand what they're adding their vote for, and our product teams to get a sense of the interest from our customers in a specific feature.
I've split your idea here to a separate one for being able to view the tax code on each row (based on your second point here).
You're welcome to create another idea for your last point around the reference that is used - if you could also share the expected behaviour and how this would help you getting an accurate view this will help our product teams when evaluating your idea.

Payroll UK - Amend previous RTI submissions
It would be great to be able to change an existing payrun (without using an unscheduled one) and submit an additional FPS relating to that month. Also being able to submit an additional FPS relating to a month that has already been submitted and no changes made, but sometimes HMRC pulls through the data incorrect their end and they need just an additional FPS submitted to pull it through correct but this is not possible currently.

Custom Report - Ability to decide if a formula row or column takes precedent
You can add formula columns and rows to a report, but from what I can tell, the column formula always takes precedent over the row. It would be cool if you choose if you want the row formula to calculate in the column formula column

Contacts - Option to turn off debtors statements
It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.
35 votesInteresting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here.
While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once -
From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.
- When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too

AU Payroll - Permission - Function to allow leave authorisers to view Leave Calendar
It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.

Files - Drag & drop a file to attach to a transaction
Just like the "Drop or click to upload files" area below this text box, I'd like an area within each transaction that I can use to upload an invoice or receipt. Rather than clicking the add document button and searching through the file hierarchy.

User Role: Ability for standard users to have access to Uncoded Statement Lines
I would like to recommend that standard access users be able to access a very handy "uncoded statement transaction report" that at this point is only available to the advisers role (usually accountants). I am told for advisers it appears on the front page of bank reconciliation. If it wasn't for chatting to an accountant one day about typing out lists to my clients I wouldn't know about it. I guess you don't know what you don't know. This is an extremely helpful tool when trying to send lists to bookkeeping clients / business partners or employee's when you are chasing backup documentation (invoices/receipts/income info) from. I find it quite illogical that accountants / adviser role are the only one's given this particular report when it is the bookkeeper needing to get all the transactions allocated finalised for them to do their magic. I can't for life of me understand what reason there would be that this report isn't given generic access. At this point I have Advisers/accountants that run this report off when needed but naturally this comes at a cost to the client and a waste of accountants time. For years I have been typing out all the unallocated transactions to send to my clients to chase up and as much as I am a fast typist it's a little frustrating the person that needs to get the information finalised for the accountants doesn't have access to this simple report. I propose that the "Uncoded Statement Transaction Report" be amended to include for standard users. Please vote for this to simplify getting the work done. Appreciate your help. Roz

Reports - Ability to add custom KPIs to Executive Summary report
Ability to add KPIs to executive summary report e.g. Purchases/Sales percentage for the hospo industry and wages/sales % - these should be at 30% or lower so it would be great to add these into the executive summary report

Aged Receivables / Payables Reports - Add 'Current' column
Case CX0013378184 - Aged Receivables / Payables Reports have changed - Please re-insert "0.00" balance Current Column
We urgently request that the “0.00” balance “Current" column be put back into the Aged Receivables / Payables Reports
XERO has just changed the format of the Aged Receivables / Payables Report to NOT show the "Current" column on the Reports if there is a "0.00" balance.
This is a huge Problem to us as a company with the way in which we do our reporting as we need that column to show. I cannot see the benefit of why this was changed from an Accountancy perspective which is what it is primarily used for?
We have 49 companies under our Parent Company and we drop each report onto one spreadsheet. Great under the old format as everything lines up.
However, the new reports do not line up as some have Current Columns and some do not due to the new change!
This is now causing so much extra work from our perspective and is not an enhancement to the product but more like a huge step back to basics. Surely these changes are supposed to make things easier for us as users not harder?
There is an additional dropdown so you can tick a button for "current" but this seems useless as this does not do anything that we can see? It does not allow us to see the "Current" column with "0.00" balances. If there are "Current" balances these are shown when the report is run anyway so why have this?

13 votesHey team, appreciate the support in this idea. We understand that you'd like to have a current column to to be able to view customers with a nil balance.
Being transparent, this isn't in our plans for the immediate future, but we'll continue to keep our eyes on the support for this idea here. Thanks

Contact | Note that Purchase Order Required
The ability to flag a customer as "purchase order required". We have a growing number of customers who won't pay us unless we put a purchase order reference on the invoice. It would be good if we can have a flag in the customer that says they require a PO and therefore when we raise an invoice to them it pops up a reminder message.
12 votesAppreciate the feedback here, everyone. As noted in my last update - we released a notes feature in the contact record that enables you to add editable notes (up to 4000 characters) that are visible when viewing the contacts record.
At this stage, we don't have any plans around pop up notes similar to what's being asked on this idea, however understand this is really what's needed to help solve for your idea here.
For now, we'll shift the idea back to submitted and continue to track the interest. If there are any other developments that could help achieve what you're asking we'll share this with you all, here.

Reporting - Show selected accounts at top of list in account dropdown
When selecting different accounts from the dropdown list in reports, the accounts that have been selected are not easy to locate without scrolling through the list (which sometimes can be a large number).
It would be helpful to have the accounts that already been ticked at the top of the list, so that they can easily be unticked if need be.
