  1. Please add the ability to switch off the suggested reconciliation entries for individual users or for all users if easier. It is a setting that shows an OK button that looks a lot like the OK for rules and other matches, and it makes users trigger happy with the OK, which leads to reconciliation account coding errors.

Hi Charlotte, appreciate your idea however need a but more information to categorise and share with the right team. Is there a type of document you're looking for this information in? For example sales invoices, or bills?

  3. Make Xero report codes for use in generic Xero reports (instead of just bookkeepers reports only) - e.g. P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.

  4. Almost every quote/invoice I make ends up having the last little bit of the quote/invoice on the second page, with a huge amount of wasted space on the first page, which looks unprofessional. Having the option within standard invoices to remove the spacing would be amazing. I know you can get around this by using the 'Advanced invoice' option, but that requires a lot more manual work, so it's inconvenient.

This has been an issue for years. For example, when you add a 'title' or 'summary' to the quote, it instantly adds about 2 inches of empty space on the…

  5. As the new invoicing is no longer optional. I believe this issue must be addressed for all customers in the United Kingdom.

When adding a new contact upon invoice creation, allow us to search for the address via postcode like we used to. This could be achieved by postcode search ABOVE Billing Address, then auto-populate the billing address based on the input post code.

Note there were many issues with the search results which must also be addressed (See: https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/46289185-contacts-improve-uk-postcode-lookup)

OR alternatively allow us to simply input the full address as one line and YOU automatically digest it and…

  6. Hubdoc uses a different method of rounding in the "Transaction Details" section compared to the "Destination Section" which causes a "Line item tax amounts do not total to document tax amount' error

It is detailed in full within this post https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D53m00007FW4dwCAD/validation-error-in-hubdoc

It is due to a calculation error of rounding on the multiple split lines. The two values I have on an invoice are $20 and $3.70 including GST. Therefore 1.818182 and 0.336364 GST, if you sum these up it equals 2.154545. When rounded it equals 2.15 which is what my store receipt says and also what is within the…

  7. Populate Contact Purchase Defaults when Bills arrive as e-invoice or from 3rd party app.

As a bookkeeper I was so looking forward to promoting and using e-invoicing, but unfortunately it's not going to work for me (and many of my clients). This is because we often have invoices with A LOT of line items which are brought into Xero just as a total with one line only. However, if we receive an e-invoice all the individual lines would come into Xero and then we are faced with having to click through every individual line to populate the default purchase GL…

Thanks for your support here, everyone. Appreciate there is some interest in this from people emailing bills to their organisation, or importing via a 3rd party application.

We wanted to share a recent change we've made for those using eInvoicing - invoices received via Xero's eInvoicing will apply Contact defaults (such as a set default 'Purchase account) when creating the invoice in Xero. 😁

  8. In the dcoding screen, if there's already a code selected then the user has to manually empty the existing code to be able to type another. This is just clunky - when the dropdown is enabled it should either clear the field or allow the user to start typing a new code.

  9. The ability to remove the nominal accounts from a budget or show only selection of nominal accounts on a budget report. This would be useful so we can send budget owners a reports which shows only the budget lines that they are interested in and keeps actuals and forecasts in other nominal codes confidential.

Thanks for the added feedback, James - Connecting with our Xero tax UK team on this I want to be upfront that there's no plans to develop for your idea here.

To explain the rationale here - As you'll understand, tax codes are used with the aim that people pay the correct tax on their employment income and do not underpay or overpay, so that a tax return or repayment claim forms do not need to be completed.

Tax codes are only used against PAYE sources. The actual personal allowance is to be used in the self assessment calculations.

    • Personal allowance is reduced in the calculation if someone earns above £100k or they transfer their marriage allowance.
    • If a person receives the marriage allowance, then this is provided as a tax reducer at the bottom of the calculation as per legislation.

Allowing Personal Allowance to be set based on tax…

  13. On the invoice template there is a lot of 'white space', particularly to the right of the Product Description, which frequently wraps to a second line. The Product Item code also wraps to a second line on occasions. The Quantity, Unit Price, Discount and VAT columns could be reduced in width to allow for the increase in Item and Description fields.

Hi community, we're currently working on some improvements to the table/grid within new invoicing that'll provide better visibility of details.

While we won't be enabling customers the ability to adjust columns widths yourself, we're making changes that'll condense the view so you can see more at once, such as the full account name. We'll also be shifting some of the detail shown beneath the description into columns of their own for ease of view. I'll come back to share as there's more news.

  14. The PayPal data feed imports dates from UTC, as is.

For example in Australia there is a fairly large window each day where transactions will be imported and appear to have occurred the day prior. For other timezones it's likely the opposite.

In my eyes this is an outright bug/lazy coding. The response I received from support tells me they are aware of the problem, but it's just a known quirk! They suggested adding a manual adjustment to fix the balance when required. Ugh, I would feel dirty doing that, lol.

Essentially the only place the PayPal feed is…

  15. Greetings,

Xero offers an outstanding process for depositing Invoices with Awaiting Payments (pictured below). Our business does not use this feature because invoices are paid immediately.

Why there is no similar process for Paid Invoices (cash)? It seems of utmost importance.

I believe numerous businesses would benefit greatly from having this feature for Paid Invoices as it will increase efficiency, accuracy, and allow for more streamlined bookkeeping.

Thank you for considering and moving it to the top of the list!

When you say that the invoices are paid immediately, how are they currently reconciled?

Just trying to better understand how you envision this flow to help you move more efficiently in Xero.

  16. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

Last year, we rolled out support for the new journal reports 🎉 These can be filtered by account and account code or even the description.

For more information check out our support article on our new Journal reports here.

Thanks again for your feedback. We know this has been a highly anticipated feature for the community and we appreciate your contributions.

  17. We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

  19. An Information message to advise implications of editing the "Account Type" when posting a bill for a Fixed Asset.
"If an approved bill or spend money transaction is edited, and the account code is changed to one with a Fixed Asset account type - a draft asset won't be created". ie- it does not automatically update the transaction to include the item on the fixed asset schedule. Unless the item is manually added to the fixed asset register, it will not be included in subsequent depreciation runs.

Ideally the system should be designed to fully complete the edit or should…

  20. Need to be able to remove a leave type for employees. Ie an employee is entitled to 4 weeks annual leave p.a.. They have renegotiated their contract and are now entitled to 5 weeks AL p.a. I've set up a new leave type to accrue 5 weeks p.a. for this employee and asked that they use this option when submitting future requests. I have changed the AL 4 week code to No Calculation for this employee, however it still appears as an option when they request leave. I would like to remove this as an option because they continually inadvertently…
