  1. I want to track certain yearly expenses. I wish to put a limit to the expenses. When they reach the limit,I wish Xero can alert me. Eg Setting a limit on staff benefit per employee as $1,000. Once $1,000 is reached, a message can be sent to me.

  3. There are numerous discussion posts about Xero's lack of "Email to Expenses" functionality which is yet to be resolved, but there appears to be another gap in Expenses which makes producing many of the Bills/Expenses reports (including the TAPR) inaccurate.

This happens because whilst the Expenses entry screen allows "Assign to Client" using Xero Contacts lookup, the Payee themselves cannot be connected this way. This means that if an employee expenses a payment, it never appears in any "By Contact" reporting, and cannot be included in the automated TAPR.

    As a small business…

  4. We have to regularly edit invoices from specifics suppliers to correct pennies in the VAT boxes to ensure these match. Using up valuable and unnecessary time.

We use another software with another company that gets this spot on every time, but considering we pay for Xero we felt it would be helpful to get the VAT extraction down to 100% accuracy.

  5. Automation of remittance advices being sent once payment batch is approved with Xero pay. Currently they are sent individually once the batch is approved and shows up on the bank account transactions list. It would be great to be able to send them out as a batch once the batch payment is approved. Also would be good if you could deselect any that you don't need to send out should that be the case.

Hi Gemma, while appreciate your idea and how you'd like to synchronize data between Saturation.io and Xero as we have an open API we generally don't build integrations with other applications ourselves.

We have our Xero developer centre where interested parties can get information on integrating with Xero. Welcome to share this with Saturation.io to see if it's something they'd look to develop themselves.

  7. At a quick count there at least three different date selectors used in Xero. This makes it clunky for users and some date selectors are functionally outdated. Examples, the date selector used in Invoices (best) vs the one used in Reports (worst) vs the one used in Leave.

Use the same date selector(s) across the entire product. One that allows for:
    - Keyboard entry of date(s), multiple formats eg 23/08/23 as well as 23 Aug 2023 (Invoices does this)
    - Shortcuts like 'This financial year' etc - where applicable
    - Quick year jumps (unlike the date selector in…

  8. To produce a report that shows all expenses entered via the expense claim feature for a specific period, which also shows who entered the expenses and details of the claims?

This is a useful feature required for comparing budgets and forecasting future cash flow expectations.

  9. Select/Highlight Xero web page details without automatically following link

Most web links allow for text and links to be selected/highlighted by clicking, holding and dragging for additional options when the selection is right clicked (copy, print etc.)
It seems unintuitive when attempting to select/highlight (clicking and dragging over text) items in Xero, such as invoice numbers, that the page immediately follows the link as though clicked.
It is often useful to select text for simple copying, or highlight specific sections for printing on web pages, but this behavior prevents that basic utility.

Hi Dean, from what you've described in behaviour it sounds like the files you've uploaded are attached to the invoice or bill directly.

If you've attached a file to a Receive or Spend money or Payment directly when reconciling on the Xero Accounting app you'll see a file icon next to the transaction on the Account Transactions list when viewing the bank account on the desktop that you can click and will open a preview modal of the files attached.

If you have attached files directly to your invoices or bills you'll be able to view the file icon next to these transactions from the relevant Sales or Bill list screens on your desktop.

If you'd like some help to confirm what you're viewing here it'd be good to raise a case with our specialists through Xero Central who have tools to get a closer look at your organisation and…

  11. Rather than requesting or sharing the Xero Network key, if we receive an invoice from a supplier that is submitted through Xero .. we should have an option to add the supplier for eInvoicing with a clickable button "Add supplier for eInvoicing in future" .... this way, as a customer, I am in control and opt-in myself rather than administrative burden of requesting / sharing network keys

  13. Please allow timesheet approval as a sub option to payroll admin in the user set up, similar to "invoice only" option in the business and accounting setup. We have employees on labour hire contracts that need to submit their hours to the client supervisor for approval so that we can get paid. We want to be able to add the client rep without giving them full access to payroll. The only current work around is to add them as as a "Contractor - Non Employee" in Xero Payroll

It would be nice to have a system which could automatically track LSL on staff, similar to asset depreciation.

  15. We have two accounts (bank & credit card) from the same institution. For bank feeds, please allow multiple logins from the same institution.

Once we login for a bank feed on one of the accounts, we can't set up the bank feed for the other account. It just asks us to choose the already logged in account.

    This is documented here:
    https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N000055543jSAA/how-do-i-connect-two-accounts-from-the-same-bank-that-have-different-logins

I also reached out to support. They said "a Xero user can only use one set of credentials (per bank) in a Xero organisation. We recommend that you ask another Xero user to login and activate…

Hi team, thanks for sharing this idea and for the detailed explanation of how this affects your workflow. We understand that it's common for a business to hold multiple accounts with different login credentials at the same bank.

Currently, Xero's architecture is built to link one set of banking credentials per user in an organisation. While we'll keep this idea open to monitor interest from the community, we want to be transparent that we don't have any immediate plans to make changes in this area.

The recommended solution is to have another user in your Xero organisation connect the bank feed using the alternative credentials.

If you would prefer not to have another person involved, you can add yourself as a user with an alternative email address and connect the second feed that way. It is free to add extra users to a Xero organisation, so this will not affect…

  16. “Send via Xero Network” feature in your invoicing system, which have negatively impacted our workflow and client payment behavior.

Since the update, this option now appears at the bottom of the invoice, while the sending process begins at the top. This disjointed placement is not intuitive and often leads to it being overlooked. More importantly, the system does not remember this selection, requiring us to manually enable it every time we send an invoice.

This has had a direct impact on our cash flow. Since the update, we’ve noticed a significant drop in timely payments. Many of our clients…

We don't have further changes planned around this right now but will start to get a sense of interest from your idea, here.

  18. It would be super useful to add the xero organisation name to the subject line of emails sent from recipients of online invoices so firms with multiple xero organisations can see straight away, which xero organisation the contact belongs too, when they submit an email query via their online invoice link.

  19. I own several different businesses that are set up as separate organizations within xero, but they are all in the same industry and there is quite a bit of crossover of contacts between the businesses. As I understand it currently, each business will have its own unique address book, so if I update John Smith's phone number in Company A, it will not update in Company B. This makes no sense to me. There should be a universal contact book where we can select whether or not we want a company to use that universal set of contacts.

Currently this is only available to employees.

Require the ability to process timesheets to pay Subcontractors for hours worked on site so Super is taken into account but PAYG is not applicable.
Currently not available to STP2 category Contractor 'Non Employees'
