Project - Import manual journal into Project
I am needing to import my payroll expenses from another payroll platform in the form of a manual journal. I need those payroll expenses to be tracked by project. It would be handy to be able to have a column for projects instead of a tracking category.

Repeating Invoices list - View total amount
Hi
On the repeating invoices tab, can we please have the total amount showing of repeating monthly invoices.. Just as it shows the awaiting invoices value on that tab.
This will help business keep an eye on their recurring value income.

Bank Reconciliation Report - Show 'Discuss' tab notes
Include notes that have been left on transactions in the 'Discuss' tab on the Bank Reconciliation Summary Report.

Contacts Overview - Overpayments and 'Pay bill in full option'
Stop messing around with things that people haven't asked for and actually look at implementing things that have been asked for.
The new look for customer and sales ledgers is awful. Why change it?
When it comes to being easy to reconcile supplier ledgers Xero is already miles behind it's competitors but you've somehow managed to make it even worse!
For example if there is an overpayment that you part allocate against a bill and then refresh the screen it shows that the bill is paid but the overpayment still shows that the full amount is to be used, it hasn't reduced by the amount allocated against the bill.
Please change it back and put your focus into implementing things that your clients have actually told you that they want!
Rather than messing around with the look why not implement something useful. For example when allocating an overpayment and the list of unpaid invoices is shown why isn't there an option to select a bill and "pay bill in full" rather than having to type the amount in every box?Stop messing around with things that people haven't asked for and actually look at implementing things that have been asked for.

Reports - New Aged Payables Report V's Previous Report filtering options by due date
Previously in the old format Aged Payable Summary and Detail reports you could run the report at the end of the month and change the Ageing by option to be by Due date and the report would then exclude any invoices with a due date later than the month end it was being run by. However when doing the same in the new format report this does not work and the Current column shows invoices for the month as being due even if they have a due date of later than the month end date being selected i.e. the report run with the same parameters in both the old and new formats gives different answers when it shouldn't. Please investigate and fix this so the reports give the same results.

Inventory - Include supplier’s name and link back to supplier contact list
Ability to have a supplier name and link back to supplier contact list from the inventory.
Purpose: Users can easily have information from which suppliers that they’ve purchased their inventory from, and can easily update any changes within inventory and supplier.
73 votesHi team, while we don't have plans for adding a field for supplier to Inventory items, right now you could run the Payable invoice Detail report to see the purchases of items, and which supplier(s) they've been bought from.
You can also Group/Summarise the report by Item Code or Contact, depending on which you want to see together.

Account Transactions report - Add Transaction number
I exported the Detailed Account Transaction Report. Additional column I need is the transaction number so I could group or filter the specific transaction/s that I want to conduct further analysis.

Xero Expenses - Show original currency + currency amount
Have the original currency + amount available as field options in the Reports section, so I can run an expense details report and see both the original currency and the GBP.
The use case here is that we have US people using Xero Expenses who need paying in USD. I have to go into each expense item to manually write down the USD value and the add it up to pay. It's properly daft when I know the currency amount is there. And we can't enter it as a bill because they are using Xero expenses.

Bank Reconciliation - Reconciliation history in the bank feed section
In the bank feed section. Please make the vendor history available when going through bank feeds. QBO has a button in the bank feeds called Categorization History. This way to do not have to go into a contact page to view how something was coded in the past. This is for things without rules.

Contacts - Allow additional people within a contact record to have different roles/titles
We deal with different people in purchasing, accounting, owners, etc for each account. Contact records are being treated as Account records. This makes it very difficult to keep track of all people we need to do business with within an account.

We want to be honest that we don't have any planned work for developing print options at the organisation level atm. If there's any changes to share we'll let you know.

AU Payroll - Search employee name when selecting employee
when in an employee file, be able to search by entering next employee's name you want to view next instead of having to scroll down to the name

Contact - Field for Business Registered Name
When creating a new contact, I need a space for the Business registered Name as well as Trading name.
27 votesAppreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name.
While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present.
We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates.

Billable Expenses - Batch assign to customer
I often have 30 or so bank transactions (both credit and debit) that I need to on-bill/on-credit to a customer. The process described in https://central.xero.com/s/article/Add-a-billable-expense-to-an-invoice requires multiple clicks per transaction and does not work for credits.
In addition, there is no indication in the bank transaction list that the entry has been assigned to a customer as a cross-check.

Xero Expenses - Notification for declined expense

23 votesHi community, returning to share an update on the work we had done here - Though our product team started releasing updates to the notifications we quickly found that this meant some users began receiving a lot more notifications, and we've made the tough decision to switch these back off.
In time our team would like to create controls so users can set notification preferences. However, this will require considerable work and not something we commit to right now.
We're going to shift the idea back to Accepted and soon as we can pick this up again I'll make sure to share an update here.

When emailing bills to Xero as I am working from my email account and Xero at the same time, the page has to be refreshed by clicking into one of the other tab options all the time and back again. It would be great if there was a button that just said refresh so I am not wasting time jumping from drafts screen to one of the other tabs such as all and then back to the drafts.
Additionally we process all of our invoices into draft format firstly. When doing this sometimes they are out of order. It would be great if there was either a recent section on the screen, or the option to filter them by the date/time added.

Bills - Share bills for approval with users outside Xero
We need an approval process which includes multiple approvers who do not necessarily access Xero so a share as with an invoice would be ideal to request approval via email
10 votesHi community, thanks for sharing with us on this idea. It would be good to get further insight into why the user would not be invited into the Xero organisation if they are a part of the approval process.
While we don't have plans for developing a share link on bills like invoices at this stage, an option for some right now could be to export bills from your organisation which could be provided to the right person in a CSV format.

Sales Invoices | Templates - Extra formatting options (Bullets, Bold, Italics)
Ability to have a format option for sales invoices.
Purpose: To make sales invoices appear more professional.
80 votesHi team, appreciate the feedback here and it appears there are 2 differing ideas being bought up here. This idea was originally started relating to the invoice branding theme. Being open, while we will look at improvements to invoice templates down the line this isn't planned just yet.
More recent conversation appears to be related to the new invoicing send modal and formatting of emails sent from Xero. We have a slightly different idea those who are interested in this can join and you'll see I recently updated - While the tool bar has been removed from the send window, you can still use html tags to format and preview how these look in your email.

Bills to pay: Generate batch payment files for credit card accounts
Create ABA file for non bank account, eg Credit Cards.
With an increate of payment options and portals offering payments through credit card, it could be reasonable to have an aba file created for other form of payment. Thanks10 votes -
Xero Files - Scroll bar in Files app
When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together. So, checking a document from the folder at the end of the list requires to scroll down at the end, find the folder and select it and scroll up at the top of the screen to view the latest document uploaded in the folder which is very time consuming. If there is a separate scroll for the folder list so that the list could be moved without moving the document display, that will be very convenient. I have attached a screen shot of the file app if that makes a sense.
