  1. Automation of Approval for STP filing.
    The ATO requires approval from the client for every STP filing. I would like to see in the Xero/Payroll/Pay Employees/Payrun/Pay Run Options/ drop down menu (where the current options of Download ABA, Email Payslips, and Revert to Draft to also include an option to send approval request to xx@***.com for approval to lodge STP F. It would be good for a copy of the Payroll Activity Details be sent to the client, with the request for approval.

  2. Please update the wording of icon in an employees payroll from "reset payslip" to "reset individuals payroll"

    The reset is for use to "refresh" really and nothing to do with a payslip.
    Its rather confusing.

  3. It was bought to my attention after using xero for over 2 years that depending on how you pay your staff using multipayment or individually that when you reconcile if your staff have access to contacts then they will see the payments made.

    This is a concern for me that they can see the amounts whether your reconcile as a bulk amount and allocate to them or a generic contact - if you use the cash coding area then xero creates a dummy payee called unknown which again can be seen by your staff with standard…

  4. Ability to change our PAYG Withholding period to weekly. Only options are None, Monthly or Quarterly. The ATO requires we lodge and pay PAYGW weekly now and this is not possible in Xero. We have to change our PAYGW period to None so that it does not show on the BAS and manually calculate, lodge and pay this weekly.

  6. Xero Payroll Journal non-cash option for the Cash Summary

    Currently all transactions from the Payroll Journal will pull through to the Cash Summary Report. The information that pulls through doesn't differentiate what has being paid from a bank account or non-cash.

    Suggestion to add a functionality in Xero Payroll and exclude certain items from the Payroll Journal from automatically showing in the Cash Summary Report.

  7. You should be able to edit any payrun that hasn't been 'filed' regardless if it was the last one or not. I enter several unscheduled payruns and I've noticed an error in one but I can't fix it because it wasn't the last payrun posted. The "work-around" Xero recommends is to File it and then re-post a counter fix. This feels redundant and unnessary extra work. Essentially its saying I can post an inverse of the original to cancel it out which isn't a tidy way of doing work.

    Hi Jamie, just coming back across your idea here. In Xero Payroll as of right now if you've a posted pay run that you need to make adjustments to, you can revert this to draft and make the required changes.

    The only time we wouldn't recommend doing this is if the pay run's been filed with the ATO.

    Once it's been filed we'd recommend using unscheduled pay runs to make any changes. This is because reverting a filed pay run to draft will cause issues in the reporting to the ATO.

  8. The new Grow subscription only allowing for one employee is really tough for accountants operating in the micro-business space, as many of the small businesses that I have been working to get onto Xero are either married couples or two business partners who need exactly two payroll employees, with no intention to grow beyond that number.

    Having to jump from Grow to Comprehensive just to add a payroll user is prohibitive for a lot of my clients, and knowing that this is the case is stopping me from recommending Xero as a product where it would have been a…

  9. It would assist us if the Leave Accrued Report could also show the employee's start date. Long Service Leave is only applicable to staff from the 5 or 10 year mark for us in NSW but to ascertain whether staff are eligible for it is requiring external spreadsheets that have to be manually adjusted each month. Xero already has the functionality to enable this so it can't be hard to action.

  10. It would be great to have a Leave Balances report that reported in hours to match the employees' payslip balances for management to use. The current leave balances report only shows accrued leave in dollars not hours.

  11. Suggest the ability to apply work patterns to part time employees. For example, we have a part time employee who works 7 hours on Mon, 6 hours on Tues and 6 hours on Wed.
    At the moment, if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday, it does not correctly work out hours worked.
    The same happens if Annual Leave is taken; incorrect hours are calculated which affects AL accruals.
    Hours worked have to be calculated and added manually.

  12. Edited Leave request date sends a notification to the employee for the wrong date. We recently had an employee request an RDO for 19/07/2024. After discussion with the employee this date was not suitable because the employee was due to provide training to a customer this date so we agreed to change the date to the following week (26/07/2024).

    I then edited the leave request to be for the 26/07/2024 and approved the request.

    The employee received an email notification that their request for leave on the 19/07/2024 was approved!

  13. The Australian version of Xero offers a timesheet summary report. Can we have this in the UK? I need to send a manager details of his employees uploaded timesheet data and there is no report.

  16. There is a new feature on Xero Payroll that creates employee numbers automatically on employee creation. A great new feature, it gets my vote. It would be good if this worked for bulk import, e.g. by setting the employee number field in the import as blank. (When I tried this it didn't work).

  17. Currently, Xero automatically assigns holiday leave to the pay period in which it falls. However, for businesses with a different pay schedule within the tax periods, (e.g., a financial period running from the 6th to the 5th of the month), such as cut off being the 28th of the previous month and paying on the 5th of the month. this can cause confusion and misalignment in holiday pay processing.   18. STP2 - Splitting allowances for all purpose from the hourly rate

    We have employees with all purpose allowances - ie it forms part of the base hourly rate and extrapolates in to overtime rates and annual leave loading. I now have to take it out of the rate and pay as separate line items including overtime and annual leave multipliers.

    Is Xero in their pay templates going to make changes to say have a tick box to indicate an add on allowance to the rate so regardless of the pay lines (that are set up as such) they…

    Hey community 👋 thanks for the interest in this idea! 


    Just to clarify, when creating a new allowance pay item, you'll have the options to 'Contribute towards annual leave rate' and 'contributes towards overtime rate'.


    This setting will include allowance type pay items in the calculation of annual leave and overtime rates. 


    I can see the main request here was a 'box to indicate an add on allowance'. 


    Can you confirm if this tick box in payroll settings solves that request?
