AU Payroll - Notify employees when their bank or super details are updated
When Bank or Superannuation details are changed for an employee, Xero sends an alert to the Admin/Account owner of the account. The employee details who have changed should also be sent an email alert.

Quotes - Applying Mark up
Applying Mark up in Quote - Ability to hit 'apply mark up' and select specific costs / folders that the mark up is applied for. Ie labour costs are not based off markup but the products are. If you hit 'apply mark up' the markup gets applied to every single cost.
16 votesRounding back on the idea here it sounds like using non tracked inventory could be a solution.
In Products and services you can add items and enter a Purchase price and a Sales price for the same item.
This means you can add the marked up price for Sales and when you select the item in Quotes or Invoices this price will be reflected for the line item.
Alternatively, you could add a discount to lines of your invoice if there is a general amount or % by which you would mark up items.
Keen to hear your feedback for these options.

AU Payroll - Ability to send Leave taken to a balance sheet
As per this post 3 years ago I have the same challenge.
https://central.xero.com/s/question/0D51N00004DBrgFSAT/annual-leave-ledger-code-setup-in-payroll
Can Australia be configured the same as NZ by having ability to send Leave taken to a balance sheet leave liability account?

Invoice Templates - Customize header for Paid Invoices
Would like to have the ability to customize the header for a paid invoice to be TAX INOVICE while the unpaid invoices are just called Invoice. Currently the templates allow for a custom title for the over due invoices, approved invoices but not paid invoices.

UK Payroll - More options for Gender
Add other gender options for personal settings, non-binary & intersex
24 votesThanks for confirming, Andy - Really appreciate the screenshot. 🙂
I've checked in with our Payroll team where this detail is saved.
We appreciate wanting more options for gender when entering personal details, and in some regions such as AU & NZ this is optional.
Currently, in order to ensure successful payroll filings with HMRC in the UK, we need to match the schema they provide. That said, our team are reassessing how this fits in Xero so I'll shift this Idea to 'under review' and can share any updates that come. -
Run a report on a monthly basis to pay my employees expenses
If employees are putting their expenses onto Xero Projects then you should be able to pull a report and pay their expenses from it. Otherwise they are going to have to duplicate work by putting it on Projects and then submitting an expense claim.
4 votesMaybe a case of understanding your workflows here a bit better, Rachel. Currently when entering an expense through Xero Expenses you can assign to Projects so these'll attach and show against your Projects in Xero - Would be great to get more details if there's something in here which requires duplication.

Bank Rule - Ability to default to 'All conditions match'
Since the change to the updated Bank Rules page, it now defaults to 'Any Conditions Match'.
I have to change this to 'All Conditions Match' literally every. single. time. I create a bank rule, otherwise it defaults to matching almost all transactions.
This is a disaster waiting to happen.
11 votesThanks for sharing back on the change, Alan. It's difficult to make changes to suit everyone's needs, and changing the default from 'All' to 'Any' was carefully considered as part of the recent updates to Bank Rules.
This was something users told us would be helpful as many more users create 'loose' rules to capture more statement lines.
Currently there aren't any plans to change this back. What would be more useful would be the ability to set your own default, but for now we'll begin to track the interest of this here.

Fixed Assets - Run depreciation from 6th to 5th of a month
Be able to run depreciation from 6th to 5th of a month for businesses that have a financial year end of 5 April.
Whilst you can do this for a 1st year of trading, we have found that you are unable to run it for any year after and after checking with xero, you are unable to run depreciation if the fixed asset start date is not the 1st of the month.14 votes -

CIS report - Ability to include tracking
When running the monthly CIS report it would be helpful to include the tracking category, to be able to work out the total liability per department to pay out of each bank account to HMRC

UK Payroll - Pension calculation pre rti submission
Payroll doesn’t calculate pension until after you submit the payroll/RTI, so you don’t know what the actual net payments are until submitted. Try explaining to a client that what they signed off isn’t what they actual pay.

Expenses Payments - Auto-Populate Approved Amount
Generally working in Xero is very efficient. However, when paying approved expense claims (and recording the payment) I have to constantly switch between keyboard to type in the payment amount (which is displayed in a cell above) and the mouse to select the payment date and payment account. I can't imagine a scenario when the amount paid is not the amount approved. Why is this cell not pre-populated with the approved amount? If it was it would halve the time it would take me to register payments against expense claims.

Customer Statements - Use Contact default to apply template
We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact). It takes the ‘default template’ = the first one set up in invoice settings which is the GBP template. I am curious why it does not take the template chosen on the invoice. If I forget to check the branding when I send out statements it’s likely that the customer gets the wrong bank information. If the customer pays according to the statement the money is sent to the wrong account, and consequently we incur additional bank charges as the bank converts the money into the currency of the bank account. It would be very usefull if a customer's default invoice template would be used when sending out customer statements

EU Invoice: Ability to switch comma/decimal format
Currently in European Countries except for the United Kingdom, the comma is used as a decimal separator not the dot.
Europe: x.,xx i.e. €1.250,55
UK: x,.xx i.e. £1,250.55For those Xero users invoicing to Europe countries It would be great if we could change the format of these numeric separators to better conform to European countries.
The only ability we have at the moment to customise this is to remove the comma separator completely and have no decimal places.
i.e €1 2518 votes
