  1. On the new invoicing, when additional columns are selected, a scrollbar is added to the invoice layout and interrupts the smooth capture process. Having to manually scroll from one side to the other to view details is not ideal.

Consider either auto-adjusting the column widths or allow for the automatic expansion of the invoice layout width when additional columns are selected. This way, users could view all necessary details without the need for manual scrolling.

Hi all, we thank you for all sharing detail on your experience when using new invoicing in Xero. Taking this on board our team have been reviewing the line item grid where you enter details in new invoicing. We have work underway to improve and address points raised such as providing a more compact layout so you can see more at once, showing full account and tracking names, and more direct options to reduce clicks and steps in common actions.

For the time being, small adjustments can be made to your computer scale or browser zooming to see more detail at once, although we understand this is not the ideal solution.

I'll return to let you know when we're closer to release and can share more of the changes.

  2. New invoicing is missing the ability to select the default due date that is against the customer. I had to change the invoice date for a customer with set payment terms of 30 days from the invoice date and there were several suggestions listed but the old option to reset to default date was missing.

Thanks for sharing and feeding back through this idea, community. While our team are reviewing the behaviours of date fields in new invoicing - It may help to clarify how due date works in conjunction with defaults to define how these are working in your organisation at present. Basically put, every time you change an Issue date this influences the Due date, which is a slight change to classic invoicing.

Currently, there are two defaults that can be set in Xero, within Invoice Settings and within an individual Contact records.

Invoice Settings due date is a blanket for any invoice raised in the org, if you set a Contact due date this will override the Invoice Settings due date when you select that Contact when invoicing.

When you change the Due date of an invoice, and then edit it's Issue date this will trigger any defaults you have set up…

  3. I currently pay for the Standard Plan (15/month) plus Payroll (5/month) and use it for 2 payroll users.

Under the newly unveiled pricing plans my business has been completely shafted.

In order to use Payroll at all, I need to upgrade to the new Grow plan (33/month), already an increase of 13/month. But on top of that, that isn't even enough because you're restricted this plan to only 1 payroll user. So actually I have to jump all the way to the second from top plan which is the Comprehensive at 47/month.

    This is a complete joke.

    This shift in…

  4. When reconciling transactions and Find & Match is used, usually for multiple matches, please add an attachment button.
In the example of one payment matched to multiple sales invoices, there is usually a remittance provided by the client that we need to file with the payment.
We shouldn't need to go back to a reconciled transaction and manually add the remittance to each line individually.

  5. From 1st January 2025 businesses in Germany must be able to receive e-invoices and this function does not exist in the Global edition we use for our German clients.

We need this functionality setting up as a matter of urgency.

Thanks for raising the idea with us. Our team are aware of the mandate of eInvoicing for Germany. While we don't have immediate work planned at this stage our plan is to support any Peppol-enabled region in the long term and we are paying close attention to the interest from users on this idea. We'll be sure to update of any progress surrounding this for you, here.

The mandate currently states "The new legal regulation currently contains no specifications for the electronic transmission of electronic invoices. An email inbox should therefore initially be sufficient to receive an electronic invoice."

Based on this, currently with Xero an eInvoice could be received by using our Email to bills service, or by including the invoice as an attachment and sending to your organisation's Files library. On agreement with your suppliers you could share your bills, or files library email with them so…

  6. Allow the inclusion of Credit Notes in Batch Payments where the total to be paid to a supplier is still positive. This would allow a single batch for a Supplier to match their Statement, particularly where credit notes are not related to specific Bills.

Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting to hear from us on this idea and apologies for not commenting sooner. I can assure you this has not gone unnoticed and internally there have been reviews and discussions for how batch payments can be improved. We have the appetite, but as with all developments this must be weighed up and considered against many other important changes needed in product.

We want to be upfront that developing the ability to include Credit notes in Batch payments has not been planned at this stage.

As some may have seen, we do have work going on around being able to include Credit Notes as part of the reconciliation process. We understand for many on this idea the timing of including credit notes when you’re creating the batch payments is crucial, however we hope that when delivered at least being able to reconcile these more efficiently…

  7. Suggest the ability to apply work patterns to part time employees. For example, we have a part time employee who works 7 hours on Mon, 6 hours on Tues and 6 hours on Wed.
At the moment, if a Public Holiday falls on a Monday, it does not correctly work out hours worked.
The same happens if Annual Leave is taken; incorrect hours are calculated which affects AL accruals.
Hours worked have to be calculated and added manually.

  8. We bulk upload invoices in advance with "Draft" invoice numbers as we don't know their ultimate sequence for issue. We then assign a chronological invoice number when the invoice is approved and/or saved. In "Classic" invoicing, if I delete the invoice number it automatically assigned the next number in sequence e.g. #INV-0089, however in "New" invoicing if I delete the invoice number is warns me that I need a number and reverts to the original "Draft" number" and not the next chronological number in sequence. This is a significant backward step in functionality, can you confirm this bug will be…

  9. Xero currently lacks the capability to bulk pay multi-currency invoices. This creates a significant bottleneck for our clients with a default currency of USD who process hundreds of invoices in EUR each month. While it is possible to import invoices in EUR in bulk, marking each invoice as paid individually is extremely time-consuming and inefficient. Please consider implementing a feature that allows users to bulk pay invoices in the same foreign currency. This enhancement would streamline the workflow for businesses handling large volumes of international transactions, saving time and reducing manual effort.

  10. Some purchase contacts have requested that invoices be sent to an accounts email while statements are to be sent to a different email address, both of which are different from the person who is the actual primary contact. It would be advantageous for Xero to incorporate this to allow for the invoices and statements to be sent to the correct emails without the necessity of sending every document to the primary contact or to each other which is not required or desired.

  11. Hi Xero,

I would like to request access to the Statement Mergefields for Age Analysis. This seems to be a standard field in most accounting packages and I would certainly expect it from Xero.

This is a crucial mergefield that I am sure most / if not all small businesses require to keep their debtors book under control.

I am aware of third party plug-ins like Statey that has access to the Xero Age Analysis fields . However, the price of it is 25% of what we already pay for Xero, and that only to get access to a mergefield…

  13. New GST return layout and a few thoughts around it :-
    1) when you export the PDF, the file name only shows as eg, GST return 01022024 for a GST return for period ending 31 March 2024. Why can't it show the client's company name, GST return followed by Period end date?
    2) when you try to export the PDF with accounting firm logo - it doesn't seem to work and who has "minutes" to wait for it to download?
3? The body of the report is now in landscape which if the client were to print would…

  15. With the new pricing tiers coming in September 2024, Projects is only included in the most expensive tier. I currently pay for it as an add-on on a per user basis. With just two of us, this is cost effective. From September, if I want Projects I will have to pay for the top tier, a 30% increase to retain the features I use! Please make Projects available in lower pricing tiers.

  17. In new invoicing, please revert the ability to edit the postal address 'attention' box, back to the same as classic invoicing. Property managers want the owner's name included in the invoice address, so for each invoice I produce, I need to change the person's name in the 'attention' box. Previously this could be done by clicking on 'edit address' within the invoice, but in new invoicing, I need to edit the address by going into 'contacts', 'edit ', 'addresses', 'edit address', 'update address', 'save'. Once this is done, the ability to email the new invoice disappears, and I have to…

Hi everyone, we value your input on the new invoicing experience and hearing the specific features that are of importance to you.

We have some updates planned for the contact card where you can enter details of your contact within new invoicing, and as part of this we'll be providing the ability to edit the Attention to field.

We'll keep you up to date with progress of this through the idea here.

  18. In the "classic invoicing" interface an alert is displayed at the bottom of approved invoices when the contact being invoiced has existing credit that can potentially be applied to the new invoice. This is a very important feature and strangely it's missing from the new invoicing interface. With the "classic invoicing" now being officially retired this basic feature must definitely carry over to the new invoicing interface.

Without this alert, every time we create an invoice we would need to manually check if the contact has previous credit with us, which makes the process unnecessarily inefficient and unpleasant.

  19. It would be great to have a Direct Debit flag on the Bills area. Especially on the ones waiting payment.
That would allow us to know if a bill that is waiting payment is Direct Debit and we don't need to act, just wait to reconcile.
I created a (terrible) mockup and attached it.

  20. "Business and accounting" role needs ability to more narrowly define. I want an employee to access invoices (receivables) but that then gives them access to ALL financial reporting, e.g. P&L, which I don't want them to see.
