  1. The Income by Contact report would be able to do this if filters were added so that it could be customised to include nominal code filters.

  2. We recently had an employee which had a leave type reinstated after a period of over 12 months of it not being used. There was a balance sitting in there for the duration of time that it wasn’t active, and therefore not showing on any payslips that were provided to the employee or filed. We are now in a position that we had to reactive this leave type to be in line with STP requirements and showing leave loading on a separate line. When we reactivated this leave type, ALL payslips for the period of over 12 months were updated…

Hey Amy, I know it's been a little while since you started your idea here. Taking another read through the situation you described, there are a couple of options which depend on whether you need a record of the adjustment.

    • If you do need a record of the adjustment you'd want to post an unscheduled pay run to reverse out the leave balance for the pay period in which it should have been paid out.
    • In the case you don't need a record, you could simply adjust the opening balance for the leave type within the employee's record.

We have help for both of these processes detailed in this article on Xero Central.

  3. I recently commented about the new invoicing not showing credit notes available, what I didn't realise that this was only for Repeating Invoices, not standard generated invoices which do infact show the credit available.

Some of our regular clients like to prepay so there are often credits to use. Upon approving a repeating invoice, the classic used to say there was a credit available on that contact, click here to use it. There is no such feature on the new repeating invoicing to indicate there is a credit available you have to go and manually check. As well as not…

Hi Claire, I've tried replicating your scenario here using both a newly created and an existing repeating template.

In both cases when I open an invoice that has been generated from the template and credit is available I can see an option on the invoice to Apply credit (as shown in my image)

Could you please raise a case on this with our Xero support team on Xero Central. They have tools to be able to look into this deeper and confirm what's going on and why credit is not appearing for application in your invoices.

  4. Realised currency gains and losses to be allocated to the same split of team codes and activity codes allocated to the original transaction.

At the moment, any transaction which originally contained more than one team code and/or activity code which has realised foreign currency gains/losses has the gains/losses posted with 'multiple categories' for team code and activity code. This can cause issues for internal management reporting where there is a need to then manually assess each element of the gain/loss to see which team or activity it relates to. If the gains/losses were automatically split on the same basis as…

  5. Hi Xero,

Thanks for creating the new 'Account Transaction Report' and adding the GST columns (and other transaction attributes) recently.....but there are a couple of significant issues that need to be sorted out before this is done and dusted.

    These are:
    - When sorting by 'Account (Name)' it returns the accounts in alphabetical order meaning P&L and Asset accounts are all mixed in together when doing a full GL report. I think it would be better to show the accounts in account number order (or alphabetically with the P&L and Balance sheet accounts separated)
    - When sorting by 'Account Code'…

Our team have been paying close attention to what our community have been asking and with today's release we've added the ability to sort and summarise by 'Account Code & Name' within the Account Transactions report.
You can use this option to view both the Account Code and Name, without losing the Opening Balances - Read up on the changes in our recent Blog.

Thanks for sharing on this with us here in community. Also noting some people here who'd like to view file attachments against transactions - While not possible atm, we do have an idea for this growing across here and you're welcome to join and use your vote from this idea on. 🙂(Sep 21)

When you say filtering by 'cost code' - would this be an account or tracking category you've set up n the organisation, Kaytie?

If you can also share some detail of what you'll use the report for specifically this'll help when sharing back with our product teams. It's good for them to understand how a particular type of report or setup could help a business.

  7. WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO GET MONTHLY SALES TOTALS OF THE INDIVIDUEL PRODUCT ID CODES

IS THERE CURRENTLY ANY WAY TO DO THIS
WE HAVE THREE WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS PREFIXED WITH WAREHOUSES CODE AND 20 VARIATIONS OF PRODUCT IN SIZES AND TYPES AND WE NEED TO SEE EASILY WHAT IS SELLING MOST ETC IN EACH OF THOSE PRODUCT CODES
    IS THIS POSSIBLE

HI team, returning to the idea here we will mark this as delivered. As noted in my last update - With the Inventory item Summary report you'll be able to filter to only select the items you're wanting to view and can add columns to view Opening & Closing Balance or Quantities, as well as those sold in the period the reports being run.

Alternatively, you could run the Receivable Invoice Detail report. This'll only include sales of items, and the report includes the Item Code column by default.

You could also set the report up to Group by Item Code, so sales of each item are listed together, complete with totals for the date range.

  8. When adding products from suppliers, it would be great to be able to add multiple suppliers details on one product (to save having the same item listed multiple times with each individual suppliers codes/costs etc). For example Supplier 1: Coca Cola Cans, Code: 1234 Cost: £12.99, Supplier 2: Coca Cola Cans, Code: A1244, Cost: £19.50. Rather have Coca Cola saved twice had sections within that product for multiple suppliers.

  9. When an expense is raised, supplier gst tax rate should override the expense item tax rate. If the supplier coded gst free purchases, then expense items should default to gst free, not the default gst tax code of the expense ite.

  11. The mobile app’s new transaction notifications are Bank dependent. Why? You have to write code for every individual bank in the world just so the app will notify a user that a new transaction needs to be reconciled? Rewrite the code so this works automatically for everyone. It’s crazy the way you have it now.

  12. Example we explain here is a 4 line Purchase Order in CSV format which, using the Bills To Pay Template, we are importing in my test Xero platform.
Each line in the PO use a different Account Code from our Chart of Accounts.

In brief, if we leave any of the Account Code fields empty the system does not seem to want to import the Supplier Contacts Purchasing Default Account settings.
I have tried all versions of this import and the only one I can get to work is one where all the fields are completed.
    This means we have…

Hi Paul, can you share a bit of detail of why you'd find it useful to filter only particular sections of the report, and perhaps an example of the way you see yourself being able to use this sort of function in the report?

We don't have any plans at this stage for multi-tiered filtering but it'd be good to better understand your needs behind it?

  17. Be able to export draft invoices to Excel, also to be able to add columns eg VAT (or tracking categories or nominal codes) to the report view

Hi Tamara, this is already possible. From the Drafts tab just click the Export button. This'll download a CSV file that you can open in Excel.

If you've set up and are using Tracking in your invoices there are also columns for these, as well as VAT.

  18. Another product idea to suggest is to have Account transactions report account code GST control account to also show the related account
For example invoice number and invoice amount on how the tax amount derives from.

  19. Hello,
VAT on services is claimable up to 6 months before the day of registration, would it be possible to have a special VAT code for it or find a way to include it on the first VAT return?

  20. Having this feature would alleviate the need to click into each expense claim to check the VAT is correct, as it will be included in the expense information along with the spend date and nominal code.
