  1. WorkflowMax has no understanding of foreign currencies. We now have WFM clients that are being invoiced in either Australian or US dollars as opposed to the standard NZ dollars.

Before sending the invoice from WFM, we set up the contact in Xero to have the following information:
Under Financial Details: Currency = US Dollar
Under Sales Defaults: Sales GST = Zero Rated and Branding Theme - US Invoice
Please see two attachments showing the settings.

When we send the invoice (Approved) from WFM to Xero, the GST and Branding Theme are correctly picked up but the Currency setting in…

Hi all, appreciate and understand the support in being able to automate processes such as communication of payment received with a customer.

Though seemingly simple there are a few complexities that'd need to be accommodated for when considering the solution here - such as behaviour for re-reconciliations (Remove & redo has been used), split transactions or Mark as reconciled is used.

Our product teams in this area are working on building on beautiful experiences throughout Bank Reconciliation, which you'd have  have experienced this first with the Reconcile tab and they are now moving through other pages and features in Bank Rec - This'll take some time and with that at the fore-front right now we want to be upfront that we don't have immediate plans to add an automated email when a transaction line is reconciled.

As we embark work on the Account Transactions tab we'll be able to revisit…

  3. It would be really helpful if I could produce reports (by various time periods as usual) that list all the bank reconciliations that I have posted to my various accounts that I have created. This is useful for me to check in my book-keeping role to ensure that I have reconciled everything to the correct account, especially before passing everything to my accountant to produce the accounts.

    Example:
Does my "Postage & Stationery" account include only postage and stationery bank statement reconciliations?
Does my "Salaries" account include only salary bank statement reconciliations?

    etc etc

Hi Nicola, appreciate the idea however do want to be open that we don't have plans for implementing this type of feature directly in Xero. Feed imports can differ from bank to bank so the timeliness of this information would be likely be little use to many businesses especially in the case of manual imports.

There are some banks that offer alert or notifications for what you're asking here, I'd recommend enquiring with your bank directly. Thanks

  5. Link the new Account Transaction report so it appears when drilling down from another report or the Dashboard watchlist.

Clicking on an amount within a report or the Dashboard watchlist goes to the old Account Transactions report. When this version of the report is no longer available Xero have advised that drilling down to see transactions will only work on a report that has been published. It seems wrong to need to publish a report to be able to access this basic function.

Hi Delwyn, back to confirm that redirects from the Account watchlist will now take you to the new version of reports. 😁

Which one will be driven  by the detail in my earlier response.

  6. The chart of accounts should really have opening stock, closing stock and dividends as these are items that are usually needed, or perhaps some codes should be blank and we can amend them to our clients needs. The Chart of accounts are currently very basic and when adding a new code it should give you the available codes under each section i.e. for direct costs give an indication of which 300 code is available and where it should be rather than us having to guess.

  7. My payment provider has recently started taking their fee percentage prior to the deposit, versus charging me at the end of the month.

This has caused each of my deposits to mismatch the invoice total.

Meaning, I need to add a bank fee on each individual transaction.

It would be EXTREMELY useful to have a "default bank fee" or "default credit card fee" button that would:

    1) Remember the Contact as [Payment Provider] (currently have to type that in manually)
    2) Add a default description "Credit Card Processing Fee"
    3) Allocate the charge to an account [5150 -…

  8. It has been observed customers who are late with invoices shield themselves buy saying if your statement of account is not updated/accurate we don't or wont pay till it is. This can be overcome with enabling SOA reminders which collate ALL overdue invoices to one reminder. Even better if it can be stapled to new invoices still within terms.

  9. When running Payment Reports such as Bank Account Transactions or Accounts Receivable reports when you select the Column option of 'Invoice Number' the report includes Invoice Number in the report headings but does not actual provide the Invoice Number for each transaction. We would expect the reports to be able to show the Invoice Number field.

Hi all, this depends on the type of transaction that you're viewing in the Account Transactions report.

Payment transactions don't have an 'Invoice Number' field in themselves, instead they are associated to an invoice. If you have not entered a separate reference the invoice number it's associated too will show in the Reference column of the report.

  13. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

Hey community, 👋 thanks for all your support on this idea, I'm popping in to switch it across to delivered!

Last year, we rolled out support for the new journal reports 🎉 These can be filtered by account and account code or even the description.

For more information check out our support article on our new Journal reports here.

Thanks again for your feedback. We know this has been a highly anticipated feature for the community and we appreciate your contributions.

  14. Currently there is no easy way to review the on/off status of invoice reminders for Customer unless they have an outstanding balance, and even then this is only on screen and not exportable, so either a way to filter the Customer list for those which have invoice reminders turned off, or just a report that can be run with a column for the reminders status (on/off and number of reminder sent) would be useful for better credit control review.

Hey team, thanks for sharing how we can improve Invoice reminders and make these more powerful for use in your business.

Our product team has kicked off some research around Invoice reminders. It'd be great to get your input - We've got a quick form here where you can sign up to be part of the process.

As we do our research, the team might reach out with surveys or even chat with some of you directly. We'd be super grateful for your involvement in shaping the future of Invoice Reminders at Xero!

  15. Can the main pull down bar (Dashboard, Business, Accounting, Projects, Contacts) be fixed at the top of the page? When viewing a screen that has 100 or more lines, it would be a lot more convenient to have immediate access to this than having to scroll all the way back up.

  16. When merging customers xero currently completes the merge and then displays the profile that has been moved which typically (for me) contains no customer data. Is it possible to instead display the profile that the customer has been merged to which shows all the existing customer data. Usually I am completing a merge and then having to go in and search for the customer name again.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the restrictive nature of inventory(Products and Services) atm, and our product team have plans to explore adding capability to cater for negative inventory or back order of stock recorded in Xero.

While they have a few other priorities to get through first we'll move this idea to Under review and return to share more when this work picks up.

  18. Add a feature where you can capture bulk supplier invoices.
You can select your supplier from a dropdown, type the invoice number, type the description, select to add a file, select account detail (sales account) and type in your amount.
This will save much more time vs opening the supplier account, add new bill, etc, etc, or copying a recent bill and just typing over it ... it's tedious and time consuming the way it is set up now.

Hi Louleen, rounding back to your idea here. From what you describe it sounds like majority of the contents of the bills are the same? If so perhaps a repeat bill template could be an option. If you set this to create a Draft bill you could then just review and make any adjustments.

Also if you already have existing bills that need entering you can back date a repeat bill template and dependent on the cycle you set e.g 'repeats every x days' you could spin up multiple bills from one template at once.

Hi everyone, returning to the idea here we're going to move this to delivered. When using Transfer and you've included a reference this'll appear when running the Account Transactions report in Xero. Check out our earlier status update for an image of what this looks like.

  20. It would be nice when entering transactions, for the date field to remain as the last entered date, at least while staying on the transaction page. It is frustrating having to enter the date each and every time when entering transactions. I understand a lot of people are working in there, in real time, and that it is beneficial that the date is always "todays" date, however, when entering stuff for a client from the previous month, this gets annoying.
