  1. Overtime needs to be recorded on Timesheets and be included in pay runs for employees on a fixed annual salary.

    We've been using Xero for 5+ years. It's brilliant in so many ways, and this basic functionality is missing, or rather, I expect is poorly coded.

    We have a number of employees on a fixed, 5 day per week, annual salary, which is divided by 12 to generate their pay every month. However, it's not uncommon for them to work overtime: additional hours here and there and sometimes whole extra days.

  3. When building custom reports, currently there is no way to add a Date column that updates to match the date range specified when viewing the report.

    This is available on all pre-defined reports, but can not be added as part of a custom report.

    There are many cases where it is desirable to build a report template that can be run for different, user-specified, date ranges, without having to edit the report each time.

  4. Allow a timesheet to be created for the week ahead of the pay week. This allows employees with standard hours to enter their hours in advance. It also allows managers to run payrolls in advance if circumstances need it

  5. It would be beneficial for clients who pay commissions to be able to customise the description on the pay slip (rather than showing just 'Withholding Income') or having to set up various 'Pay Items'.

  6. Can we please have flexible decimal points on allowances. So overnight stays - 3 - are appearing as 3.0000 and 200 kilometres is appearing as 200.0000 kilometres. I would like to remove those decimal points?

  7. With audited clients , we normally only give Read only access, but this excludes payroll access. So either we need to access for them, what the require, or we need to change access level to standard , which is not idea. Can you not have a read only role, with the option to include Payroll?

    Thanks for starting this idea! Did you see last week that our Product Team released an update that helps speed things up on Xero Me Mobile? They’ve enabled the ability to copy previous time entries in start-end timesheets on a per day basis. To do this, enter your time entries as usual for the first day in your timesheet, and then select the “copy from [date]” option when adding a new time entry for a consecutive day.
    The team are interested in further exploring improvements in this area, but at this stage there are no firm plans to progress this idea. They’ve got their eyes on the ground though - closely monitoring your ideas, votes and comments.

  9. Currently the Salary Sacrifice is just deducted on the Gross to Net report. Where as on the TB the amount is added. It would be good if this could be segregated.

  10. Can we please have an automatic email notification to the subscriber when a organisation adds or removes an employee - This would be required for the purposes of updating billing when the ability to add additional employees for $4 takes place in September 2025.

  12. Could we have the ability to add the amount paid to a Deduction.

    (A staff member messaged me the other day asking if the $450 showing on his pay slip was the amount he had left to pay for tools deductions or the amount he had paid. After checking I saw it was the amount he had paid and he has $468.93 left to pay.)

    Q: Is there any way to add the amount he has left to pay for tools to the pay slip.

  13. In Australia one of the criteria to classify as a "small buisiness" is to have 15 or less employees.

    Could this also be reflected in Xero's pricing which jumps from 10 employees on payroll to 20.

    It would be nice to have a meet half way mark with a fair price for 15 employess.

  14. A company we work with here in UK was recently a victim of an elaborate but simple fraud, resulting in the loss of around £5,000 from the payroll.

    The scam went like this:-

    1. Scammer fakes an email to HR from an employee requesting the bank details for their salary be changed.
    2. HR fails to spot the "EXTERNAL EMAIL WARNING!" and forwards this email to the person who updates the payroll. They also didn't spot the fake email address, or double-check with the employee.

    Thanks for your idea here, Rob. I've made sure to share this back with our Payroll product team. We appreciate your desire to prevent fraud, however there are also employee laws that implicate this process. It's something we're keen to track demand in here, but want to be upfront that there are no immediate plans for developing this.

  15. Ability to add a Pay Now link to statements so customers can pay all outstanding bills via the statement they receive.

    Hi everyone! It's been great to see the appetite from many of our community here, eager to get your hands on Pay now for statements. 😊

    We wanted to pop back in to confirm that this form is now closed. If you were eligible for the early release, you'll be notified in Xero from 19 August when roll out commences.

    Don't worry if you didn't quite make it into this first pool, we'll be widening the drop of this great new feature over the next few weeks.

  16. Xero Me - change of address - employee can lodge a notification through Xero Me to payroll for your change of address. The change could be approved by the payroll administrator and it immediately updates Xero, then an email would be sent to the employee to say the change of address has occurred. This would reduce administration time, spelling errors in address and encourage employees to keep their details up to date.

    Thanks again for your input through this idea, community! We're pleased to share that these changes are now live for NZ and UK users of Xero Me😊

    With this update employees will be able to view their Bank account, their IRD/NIN number, and earnings rate, as well as the capability to view and edit any of the following fields 

    • Profile Picture
    • Title
    • Gender(NZ, and AU once available)
    • Contact Number
    • Emergency Contact
    • Payroll Email
    • Address

    I'll be back soon to confirm once live for all our AU customers, too. 

  17. Be able to integrate the payroll calendar on Xero with iCal, so approved annual leave automatically appears in my iCal without having to duplicate entries, and updates if someone changes their leave on Xero.

  18. It would be very helpful if any super that has had the 'Mark as Paid' applied was also shown on the superannuation status page and also on the Superannuation Payments Report too. It is a collaborative QA, transparancy/visibility thing that would be very helpful given we have clients, BASAgents, Bookkeepers and Accountants all trying to make sure a client meets all obligations so showing this would provide good clear confirmation as to what has occured no matter which 'advisor' with permission logged in - we can all support each other this way.

  19. I have had a few scenarios where an employee requests leave and then I have gone into Xero and there are no requests. The employee has cancelled the request, but I have no visibility on this and so I have to reach out to the employee and check so could a notification be sent if an employee cancels a leave request before it is approved? Or if the leave request was left in Xero, but with a 'cancelled by employee' status or something? It is important to have visibility in some form.

  20. Xero checks employees age against pay rate and that of the National Minumum Wage so it does not get missed. It's doesn't have to change it, just highlight thsat the employee's rate needs to ber changed
