Allocate spent money to supplier invoice raised at a later date -We pay our electricity monthly by direct debit - we may have 6-9 payments that have been reconcilled as spent money as the next supplier invoice has not been received. It appears you have to remove & redo the reconcilliation rather than having a facility to allocate that spent money to the invoice. This is incredibly time consuming and should be a facility available.

Is there a reason reconciling the payment as a prepayment couldn't work for you here? This way when the bill is received and entered in your org you can allocate all the credit from those prepayments to the single bill without remove & redo.

Reporting - View payment reference and date paid
Reporting - to run a report that can show payment information (eg. paid date) and reference/item information.
A report under cash basis does not show the reference that I put on the invoice reference or the item information chosen in the invoice, it is really hard to search receivable payment based on the information I need (PFA).
A xero support specialist explained that because there is no reference on the payment, I can only search by Contact name or invoice number. But, when we do reconciliations to match the bank received with the invoice, there is nowhere to add an…18 votes -
Xero Accounting app - Bank reconciliation - allow foreign currency payments to be reconciled
Xero allows invoices to be created in a foreign currency (with the premium subscription plan) but when clients make these payments (which get converted to the base currency) they are not able to be reconciled in the Xero app as both the currency and amount are different so they don’t match.
On the web, there is an option that can be unchecked to show foreign currency items, which then allows the payment to be reconciled. In my case it is ‘show NZD items only’.

Dashboard - List prepayments separately from "Awaiting payment" list
List prepayments separately from "Awaiting payment" report in Dashboard.
At the moment, prepayments are lumped together with "Awaiting payment" reports in Dashboard. This gives a wrong view of the actual number of invoices that are awaiting payment. Please list prepayments separately on a different line.11 votes -
New Invoicing | Send - Copy & paste formatting
When pasting content from a Word document that has bullet points and other basic formatting, this formatting is lost and you end up with one large block of unformatted text.
All our invoices have terms and conditions pasted in depending on the application of our products. We have to switch to Classic Invoicing where the formatting functionality still works, before sending the email to the customer, .
Please resolve this urgently before phasing out Classic Invoicing.
An example image is attached with a short portion of our terms and conditions to show the non-existent formatting.

UK Payroll: Calculate gross from net
Looking to move from using Sage payroll where this time saving feature is available when paying net bonuses, it would be great help if this was also available in Xero payroll.

Expenses: Automatic mileage tracking
Quickbooks has "motion tracking" mileage, meaning the user doesn't have spent time entering their starting and final postcodes, they literally just turn the feature on and it auto records their mileage via GPS. I have clients (using Xero) who are on the road everyday for business purposes and this feature would be so useful for them to save time.

While our team have a keen eye on the idea and interest in exploring this in the future we want to be open that resources are across other important work atm and there are no plans to develop this, this year.

Receipts - Generate receipts without creating invoice
There should be a generate receipt option without having to create invoice first. This receipt should continue running numbers as invoiced.

Option to sort customers/suppliers by their surname.
Purpose: This feature will make it easier for users to find their contacts in Xero.

Invoicing - Import with Sent status
Make it possible for imported invoices to be marked as sent when importing them.
Perhaps an additional column in the template Mark as sent status "Y for sent N for not sent"
If this is not possible the ability to bulk "mark as sent"

Bank Reconciliation | Stripe - Add an option to set 'only match' with the reference
We integrate with Stripe for payments and we reconcile our Stripe payments every day to invoices that we generate automatically via a script. On average, we reconcile 50 to 100 invoices each day to Stripe payments. The issue we have with Xero is that the Xero algorithm looks at the amount, the name (customer), OR reference (invoice, order, etc) to match payments with invoices. Like many businesses, our sales price is the same across many accounts and we sell many of the same products over and over to the same customers so this renders the Xero algorithm useless for…

Sales invoice - Option to add a new line between existing lines
Hi Community, we need to have the option to add a new line between the invoice instead to go to the bottom part of the invoice to create it, and then moving it where we need it, many times I need to add a line in a large invoice but to make it, I need to go down to the bottom part, add a blank new line and move it where I need. If we can just make right-click and add a new blank line where we need it, it will be easy to create or amend an invoice.

Xero Analytics Plus | STCF - Options to export
Even though the above feature in XERO has great potential for add on value services to clients, example, 90 days cash flow projections, I am very surprised that no one asked, why cant we produce a report in PDF or Excel??? Isn't this an essential part of a report?

New Invoicing - Allow us to have Negative quantities on invoice
In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.

New Invoicing - add "Hide invoice summary in email" option
Despite several separate requests on this forum, New Invoicing's email still begins with an invoice summary, unlike Classic Invoicing.
For us, relationship and communication are more important than asking for payment so Classic Invoicing's email is perfectly set up with our message first and the invoice following.
New Invoicing's email reverses this with the money part writ large at the top.
Andrew Chadwick described it better than I can in the post linked below. The idea has been marked as Delivered but, respectfully, it hasn't been. His and my points still stand.

Bills - Select documents from files in the Upload bills feature
At the moment you can't directly Upload bills from the files inbox we are having to download the files then upload them. Seems like an obvious feature.

Manual Journals - add drag and drop to import feature
Add drag and drop import feature or allow multiple journals to be import at the same time. For example adding daily sales/payment journals this would a gamechanger in time it take to complete these tasks
1 voteThanks for the screenshot, Rebecca. While we don't have a feature to drag & drop to create manual journals like the bills upload feature, you can import multiple manual journals at a time using that import method in your screenshot.
The Date and Narration cells determine whether you create single or multiple journals. Feel free to practice in the demo org if you're like to test this first.

Expense Claims - Duplicate expense claims flag when there are potential duplicates.
Ability to have a flag feature when potential duplicate expense claims are uploaded.
Purpose: To make users easily noticed when the same/similar expenses are already uploaded.

Receipts - Add payment date on Custom Receipts
For invoices/receipts that are created by a custom branding theme, change the 'issue date' to 'invoice issue date', and create a separate field for 'payment date'.
This is so that when an invoice is sent in 2021, and payment is made in 2022, the receipt that is automatically generated will clearly show both dates, instead of just the issue date which implies that the receipt was issued in year 2021 when it was actually issued in year 2022.
