Bill Payments - Copy documents attached to a "Bill to Pay" entry into the bill payment transaction.
Currently, documents (invoices) that are attached to a "Bill to Pay" entry do not copy over to the bill payment transaction at reconciliation. You have to go to the (reconciled) account transaction and manually add the same documents again !
I'm told by xero this is because the Bill to Pay and actual bill payment are 2 separate transactions and the "documents" icon and process apply only to the transaction being processed at the time.
This is silly. It is doing the same thing twice - and requires you remember to do it anyway!
I thought automation was designed…1 voteThanks for sharing this suggestion, Richard.
We appreciate you letting us know about the changes that matter to you. We've reviewed your idea for having documents attached to a bill automatically copy over to the final bill payment transaction. We can see how this would save a lot of time and remove the current double-handling of having to attach the same file again post-reconciliation.
This idea is now open to gain support from other members of the community. Along with votes, others can now comment to share more detail on how this improved workflow would help their experience with Xero. 🙂

AU Payroll - Add YTD figures on payslips for recurring reimbursements
Add YTD figures for (recurring) reimbursements on an employee"s Payslip, such as non-reportable travel allowances (paid as reimbursements).
I followed a Xero direction to process non-reportable travel allowances as reimbursements, as it ws creating discrepancies in our BAS (even though include in W1 was not checked).
For an employee not to be able to see their total YTD renumeration on their payslip, including these reimbursements, is disappointing (particularly as it won't show on their EOFY payment summary).

Navigation bar - Ability to bookmark most used features
Have a ribbon/menu across the top of the screen with the ability to pin a “button” that links to your most frequently used windows - eg bills to pay drafts window , or the reconcile window of the most used bank feed, or a report you run daily
1 voteHi Kristen, touching back on your idea here there are many shortcuts that enable you to navigate to the features you use most. See all the shortcuts available from Xero Central. You'll also find for Bills to pay particularly we've added the ability to set a default view 😊

Invoicing - Option to copy different parts of invoice when select option to send to self
Copying part of a sent invoice perhaps just invoice number and amount to my e-mail would avoid a problem I had.
My e-mails were hacked and a monthly rent invoice I had sent was copied the next month with amended bank details.
I no longer send copies to my e-mail although now I have to concentrate more so I know which ones I have sent.
This type of fraud has happened to someone else I know - we are more careful with our e-mail security now.2 votesI'm sorry to hear that your email was hacked, Joanne. As you may have seen in other ideas on the site we are working to develop the History & Notes so you'll soon be able to see detail of the email an invoice has been sent too. Doesn't ideally solve for what you're asking here, so we'll continue to track this separately and update if there's any news of having more control of what you can send with the send to self option.

Account Transactions - Edit transaction dates without remove & redo
I would like to be able to edit an entered transaction, i.e., transfer, payment, etc. When I am reconciling, some transactions are posted on the following month, but they were entered at the end of the prior month this creates a problem when reconciling. All I need to do is edit the date and change it, but I have to remove and redo the transaction. This is extremely time-consuming.
Also, could we change the bank account when we enter the transaction in the wrong registry instead of removing and redoing it?
2 votesHi Ana, out of interest is there a transaction type you generally find needing to use these actions? For example Spend money, Receive money or Payments applied to invoices and bills?
I've slightly amended the title of your idea for the date of the transactions, we have separate idea for changing the bank account you can join for any updates.

projects
Title: Add the ability to allocate tasks under major project categories (e.g., Direct, Indirect) and create sub-tasks in Xero Projects for better project summary management
Description: Currently, in Xero Projects, there is no option to allocate tasks under broader categories (such as Direct, Indirect) or create sub-tasks within a project. This limits the ability to organize and simplify project summaries, especially for larger projects with multiple facets.
A more efficient way to manage complex projects would be to:
Allocate tasks under major project categories like "Direct" (e.g., Manufacturing, Certification & Testing), "Indirect" (e.g., Design, Development), and Other" (e.g., Client Engagement,…

Batch payment report - Option to export it to Excel.
Currently there is the only one option to export Batch Payment Summary report to PDF format.
That report is coming with the vendors listed randomly without any order.
Usually I forward that report to the owner along with 'aba' file for payment processing, and the report with vendors listed in alphabetical order will be very helpful.
Exporting the report to Excel will solve the sorting problem.
Thank you very much,

Report for Bills not Assigned to Projects - Also include in Hubdoc
My client has started using Projects which I'm finding not easy to use.
We would like to assign bills directs to projects in Hubdoc.
I also want to be able to give my client a list of bills that haven't been assigned. I can see this in bills to pay but its not printable/ exportable and there is no report that will give me this information.
I would also like to include direct spends from bank feed instead of having to create a bill just so we can see its not assigned

Malaysia E-Invoicing
1st) I suggest on embedding the Validated QR code to the normal PDF invoice so that we can print multiple invoices at one go and our normal PDF invoice also consists of banking details and credit terms whereas the Validated E-Invoicing has none of these.
2nd) I suggest on putting "Send to MyInvois" button instead of copy and paste the e-mail MyInvois@invoi.ci for every invoice. This is too troublesome.
3rd) Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer.…

Navigation - More quick links to speed up data entry
I migrated from QB Desktop to Xero last year, and whilst Xero produces the accounts etc perfectly well I find processing book-keeping data takes me around 20% longer than it used to. Here are a few ideas which would speed this up:
1. Have a button to scroll to next or last invoice, bill, journal etc rather than having to look at a transaction, then go back to the list to see the next transaction.
2. Allow a default bank account to be set up for e.g. payments, receipts etc
3. Able to use + - buttons to increase /…3 votes -
Investing in AI
I think the time has come to invest in AI, as a accounting software leader (Xero). Many people invest their money in AI software, like accountants, to do better / more accurate and faster budgets, forecasting (cash/accrual) mixed with different scenario's, transaction reconciliations and presentations of data/information and graphs. This usually in excel; outside the accounting software, where mistakes are likely to happen. I am not in IT, or software development/integrations, so I do not have an idea what this type of investment would cost, but my gut feeling is it would be worth it.
6 votesLike your forward thinking, Johan.
As Freya mentioned there is some AI going on in Xero already with the way Xero makes suggestions to help you reconcile your bank account.
We recently shared some insights with our customers on our approach to generative AI with Xero and you can read more about this on our blog.
Later this year you'll see Just ask Xero (JAX) be introduced and I'll round back to share once this is available.

Reporting - Analytics tools for foreign currency exposure
I would like for Xero to provide more detailed analytics about the exposure my business has to foreign currency, with existing foreign currency bank accounts, bills and invoices, but also based on averages regarding how much I am spending and receiving in each currency projecting that out into the future perhaps over the next quarter.

Bills - Option to add credit card surcharge
Nowadays everyone include a credit card surcharge when paying a bill. However when the bill is recorded originally, it is without the surcharge. When applying payment to the bill, if we are in the bill screen and we apply an amount higher than the original invoice it records as an overpayment and creates a credit note. There should be an option like in the bank rec screen where it allows us to type in the surcharge so that the surcharge takes the same character as the original invoice. Currently, I have to manually adjust the original invoice to include the…
2 votesThanks for raising your idea here, Carine. Can understand wanting a simpler option to add a credit card surcharge when adding a payment directly from the Bill.
Understand it's not the flow you're looking for here, but one option would be once the payment comes into your bank account you could use Find & Match to select the bill and in the second section you could use the Bank fee option for the surcharge like you mentioned.

Invoices within sales overview page - Distinguish automatic paid invoices from regular online invoices
Invoices that are automatically deducted from your bank account will be shown as awaiting payment as long as they are not paid, but should be clearly distinguishable from invoices that you still need to pay, i.e. take action on. This way you have an accurate overview of your account balance, expected payments, and actions you need to take.

Hubdoc - Forward etransfer docs to hubdoc to record transfers in Xero
HubDoc has etransfer option but only supports between non-asset etc accounts. We receive documents each time a transfer between bank accounts occur - or holding accounts eg: stripe payments into our transaction account. Would be great to be able to forward these to hubdoc and the transfer be recorded. Right now, its a manual transaction to be done in Xero.

Invoices - Filter and Download Specific Invoices in Customer Statement
I would like to submit a feature request for the Statement of Account (SOA) report. Currently, the SOA allows for downloading the entire account summary for a contact, but it lacks the ability to filter and download specific invoices based on types or any other granular filtering or customization.
For example, in my organization, clients sometimes use multiple revenue streams. Invoices are categorized by these revenue streams. There are instances where my clients only need the SOA for one particular revenue stream.
It would be incredibly helpful if the SOA report could include a filtering option where users can select…

New invoicing | Email template - show as tax inclusive
EMAIL DESCRIPTION OF INVOICE-SHOW GST INCLUSIVE PRICE-When selected "Include action to online and detail summary" for the email template, the email that is sent shows a description of the attachment (invoice) in the body of the email, but it has each item GST EXEMPT then the GST is listed at very bottom. It iss very confusing for some customers.

Ability to mark multiple invoices as paid at the same time. Bulk Payments on invoices.
We often get cheques or direct deposits from companies that are covering 5-10 different invoices. CSV functionality would be overkill for what I need.
Right now I have to go into each invoice and mark them all separately as paid, and put a note that cites the total deposit amount so that we can keep track of the bank transactions.
On the customer's invoice page, I would like to be able to click a checkbox button for the invoices that are included on the cheque, and mark them as paid under one transaction.
With this check box functionality, you could…
2 votesHi team, it sounds like batch deposits would meet your needs here. From the Awaiting payments list view you could select up to 50 invoices to batch together as one payment. When the cheque or deposit appears in your account you could then just select the one transaction to reconcile.
While you can only batch 50 invoices at a time, you may like to add your vote and support on this idea, Peter. It's not something we have in planned development atm but if there's any change we'll update you all there.
