  1. Ability to have a supplier name and link back to supplier contact list from the inventory.

Purpose: Users can easily have information from which suppliers that they’ve purchased their inventory from, and can easily update any changes within inventory and supplier.

Hi team, while we don't have plans for adding a field for supplier to Inventory items, right now you could run the Payable invoice Detail report to see the purchases of items, and which supplier(s) they've been bought from.

You can also Group/Summarise the report by Item Code or Contact, depending on which you want to see together.

  2. To show a negative number in customer balance, when customers have a prepayment.

Purpose: To make users easier to see any prepayments that were made by their contact in Xero.

  3. Expenses search and sort.

If you only have access as a user and not full access to the accounts, searching past expenses is a painful experience.

What a painful thing searching for expenses in Xero is.

Can't filter by date range, or search for a particular description, or search by account. And they're in some unfathomable order which you can't sort by date.

Suggestions: Sort by date option to help answer questions like 'did I remember to file that expense 3 months ago'

Filter on date range: 'Show only expenses between January and March last year'.

    Search on…

  4. Hi, It would be great if payslips line items match the 'pay template' pay items or alternatively, for pay items that have a YTD amount to be shown on all payslips (with the Nil or $amount for the current pay period as applicable with the YTD) to breakdown 'Other Previous Earnings'.
This will also assist tracking multiple pay items where it can vary each pay cycle, coding and tracking STP rates and categories, YE finalisation and review. Many thanks.

  5. Batch print packing slip

We are able to batch print invoices through the awaiting payment page, but having the ability to batch print packing slips would be great. Having to click in and out of invoices to print the packing slip for multiple entries daily takes quite a bit of time. Can this feature be added?

  6. If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule…

  7. I need to include a Cash Summary report and bank summary report in standard management reports.

I need the Cash Summary report format - working capital with other cash movements. I never use the default report. It includes balance sheet items as expenses and has little meaning for the clients I have viewed this for.

At the moment, this can only be done on an individual client level and laboriously. This is not viable for my office.

  8. The font size for Xero reports has increased - great - much easier for clients to read their annual accounts. However, when Exporting to PDF from the Draft reports, it previews it in the default size, which is often the wrong size. In order to preview the reports as they will print, you have to publish the report, note where you need to move/add page breaks, then delete the published report and go back into the draft report to make those layout changes. This adds an extra 5 minutes or so on to every job which is not necessary.…

Thanks for the support and interest in this change, everyone. While it may not be obvious, for Xero Partners or staff connected to a Practice there's an option to adjust and change the font size of your reports by selecting 'Styled PDF' when exporting new reports from Xero - Detail here will help in setting & managing  your Report Styles.

If not already you use Advisor Connect to find a Xero Partner that can meet your business needs.

  9. Re: Handling of Mutly-currency/translating foreign currency amounts into the functional currency

Multy currency is currently not fully supported in xero.

A foreign currency transaction should be recorded initially at the rate of exchange at the date of the transaction and then, at each subsequent balance sheet date, foreign currency monetary amounts should be reported using the closing rate.

This is true in xero only for Bank accounts, accounts receivables and payables set in foreign currency but not for other account.
As a result users are required to input periodical manual adjustments at each balance sheet date.

  11. In the Classic Invoice you can select an overhead or expense as the account to raise an invoice against. This is useful where you are incurring costs that will be charged out at a later date. In the new Invoice version you cannot do that.

  12. Xero recommends creating a new, duplicate employee record when a terminated employee returns to the organisation. This can also happen when an employee switches from permanent to casual, as they need to be terminated to pay out annual leave.

Due to HR add-ons that make the issue of setting up a new, duplicate employee in Xero extremely complicated and almost unworkable, I would really like to see an additional workflow in Xero to handle this. When unterminating an employee, I'd like to see Xero asking whether we're doing this to fix something or because we're rehiring the same employee, at…

    Hey Kellie and Tracey :)

I've just confirmed for myself that this feature is already available in Xero.

When your contacts are exported, the ABN will appear in column AF 'TaxNumber' and the ACN will appear in column AL 'CompanyNumber'

If you're still having trouble with the export, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team for a chat!

  14. This would be a really helpful time saver. When our clients make payments, sometimes one payment can be for 20 odd invoices. Rather than having to find each individual invoice to add the payment (which involves these steps: click on invoices awaiting payment > search for customer > click on last page > click on invoice > add payment > then repeat all steps 20 times); there are tick boxes next to the invoices, with the options to 'print', 'email', 'copy to'... could an option be added to the tick box, to 'add a payment'? Therefore the steps would be…

Hi Emily, it sounds like you could use batch deposit here. This is available from the Awaiting payments list like you noted and will allow you to to record multiple invoices as paid in a single transaction.

It can be useful if you’re banking one deposit for multiple invoices, or when a customer makes a single payment for multiple invoices. 😊

Does this solve what you're after?

  16. It make sense to only create 1 company record with multiple customer/client name in the record and that should lead to the ability to choose which customer/client info to be included in the quotes and invoice. currently the auto generated quote and invoice is based on the PRIMARY contact. However, I am working with different people in the company and therefore, should not alway based on the primary.

Currently my work around now is constantly replacing the primary contact whenever I need to generate new quotes and new invoice. doesn't make sense at all.

    Thank you

  17. When sending an invoice to a new customer using the new invoicing you can only add one address line before the Town/City field. With the old invoicing you could add multiple address lines before the Town/City field (as you can also do with their Contact page and clicking edit).
With new invoicing this is difficult. Every time you need to add an address to a new invoice going to a new contact within the invoice screen then you only have one address line above the town/city field.
To add more address lines above the town/city field you need to amend…

Hi team, we’ve made and released some recent enhancements to the ‘Contact’ field and contact card within new invoicing.

Hearing your feedback here, we added more address lines to the contact card within new invoicing so you can add your full customer’s delivery or billing address on the fly. You’ll also see you can quickly look up and select addresses for your contact, as well as edit or add the Attention to without needing to go to the contact record. Thanks for your interest with us here.

  18. Number of fields for projects is really poor, I need a tracking category added to projects so for example we can have four different types of projects which I want to categorise in the initial project set up. When costs and revenue are then allocated to this project it's also automatically allocated to the tracking category associated. At the moment I'm having to manually allocate to every transaction. Would be made easier if like sage they had a copy above function but we don't even have that either, so clicky!

  19. The "Planned Dates" feature in Bills to Pay works extremely well. Key element is that you can bulk update dates as required from a multiple selection.

The "Expected Date" feature has the same potential but also needs to be able to update invoice "Expected Dates" in bulk.

Invoices cannot be updated in bulk from Short Term Cashflow if a part-payment has been made against that invoice. Also, you can't update invoices Expected dates if they are not due yet.

Thanks for the detail of why the Short term cashflows option is not viable for you here, Karl.

We don't have any immediate plans around this but will keep an eye on the appetite here and let you know if there's any plans made.

  20. In timesheets, when you enter a new entry by hitting the + be good is the start of time could auto default to the end of time for the last timesheet entry you made, but you could still over type this if you wanted. Currently you have to keep looking and there is danger you could over lap or miss some time and it is time consuming.
