Export | Select which Sales Invoices/Bills to pay to Export to excel
To be able to only export a selection of sales invoices (or customers) and / or bills to pay (suppliers). Now you can only select on date or name via the search option. This will make it easier to send a selection of sales invoices and bills to pay in excel to customers or suppliers. (see file attached).
1 voteHi Marit, as shown when you've picked selected invoices and click the Export option only the one's you've selected will be exported. It sounds like you may want to search by a different term / field? If so can you share a bit more detail here to help when sharing your feedback with the team? Thanks

UK Payroll - Employee Contact Details
Payroll Employee Contact Details would be good to see a column for terminated employee showing date left and employee number

Products and Services - Add "In committed quotes" and "Quantity on order" to the columns in the main page & reports
This will allow a more accurate look on the stocks pre-ordered as well as incoming stocks. Instead of having to click each item to see it.
Even in the reports, it's great to see it so we can just generate a quick report about it.
4 votesHi team, we appreciate the value some businesses would find in being able to report on values of items that have been committed in quotes or quantities on order from purchase orders. While this isn't something we have plans around right now, we'll continue to track the interest for this from your idea here and share if there are any plans made.

52 votesHi all, we wanted to share an update for our US customers that sending invoices via SMS is now available! We have just released this functionality and you can use the same Xero Central article as shared in the last update to understand the in's & out's of how this works. After this release we will be working on delivering this to the UK and NZ markets. As mentioned initially this is limited to the Stripe payment service but we will also be expanding this other payment services down the line.

Bank Reconciliation - Status terms need to be changed
After a transaction is matched with the online download status should be matched or cleared. Once the reconciliation report is completed the status should change to reconciled. A transactions status should not be deemed reconciled until account is actually Reconciled with the bank statement.

AU Payroll - Track Contractors superannuation contribution owed
Invoices submitted by contractors - Xero should have a tick box where we can tick 'I need to pay super on this invoice' and it tracks and records contractor super owing.

Bank Reconciliation - Add calculations into split section of Cash Coding
The Reconcile section split allows you to add, subtract, multiply and divide in the amount cell. The Cash Coding split section does not. I would like the Cash Coding split section to allow for the calculations so that you don't have to hop back and forth between Reconcile and Cash Coding in order to get all of the transactions in. This would save a lot of time for manual entry items.

Batch Payment | Remittance - Selective download/send by supplier

Search Engine Optimisation - More intuitive
I would appreciate the Search engine to be reverted back to how it was. The new "upgraded" search is close to useless. When I search for clients, I expect all relevant clients to come up. I don't want to type in the whole client name, just to get their details to show up. Previously I could type in a few letters and the search would come up with an amazing list of relevance....
1. Contact listed first
2. Invoices listed next
3. Bills listed thereafter
4. then lastly bank transactionsThese searches used to come up with appropriate information and not outdated information from 8 years ago.....the tax office don't even require us to keep data for that long!
I am having issues with different clients. Support says, they need to "re-index", that did nothing, I have some clients I search for contacts, some for amounts, some for invoice number, some by tracking. This is my go to tool. I don't want to go to the contacts to search for the contact and then search for what I need. I don't want to go to the invoices to look for the invoice that I am looking for. I don't want to go to the bank and search for the amounts. I want to be able to do it all in the one place, like before.
I might not have all these details at hand, sometimes we use the search as a bit of hit or miss, sometimes we know the name of something similar and type it in and maybe we haven't quite got it so nothing shows up and we try again, until we get what we are looking for.
As it is Xero is extremely slow, and this tool was highly useful to search all aspects of xero. It was so much easier to search for documents through xero than my email at times! It made having everything at our finger tips a dream come true. We could answer queries efficiently, we could easily supply the information, simply with a search. Since the downgrade, this has all been messed up and it has become an incredibly frustrating and unproductive journey.

Report - Contact created date
Report to see when a customer account was opened/set up. When conducting customer credit account reviews it would be handy if there was a report to see what date a customer account was set up. So you are only reviews accounts that have been opened for a year. At the moment the only way to see when an account was set up is to look at the notes/history on each individual account.

Report - Staff member monthly billing
A report to see how much each staff member is billing out per month. There are similar reports like the write on/off report but it doesn't seem entirely accurate.
4 votesHi Eilish, is there are particular way your staff are recording how they bill customers through your Xero organisation atm? - e.g are you using Projects, or Tracking?
As you noted there maybe a report that we an suggest that'll fully serve your needs in this here.

Bug or Missing Feature Reporting
There is nowhere to report missing features and bugs apart from this forum, which is more for ideas.
I have found it difficult to find a place to report an issue quickly.
For new invoicing the list of missing features and bugs should be reported so we can see what has already been picked up and what is being worked on and fixed.9 votesHI Jill, appreciate you posting here, not knowing where else to go.
For something that appears to not be working as it should or where you're having performance issues in Xero - these are best to raise with our specialists at Xero Support where we have tools to investigate, triage any issues and escalate with our team if needed.
When it comes to new invoicing we've communicated a lot of the changes and what's coming up through our Xero central page here. Otherwise, you'll also find many ideas for changes across product ideas here that I'd recommend joining for updates where you're interested. Searching 'New invoicing' on the main page of the site should help you find a list of the different features.

Bills - Option to unapprove
Bills: unapprove option
Have the option to unapprove a bill so it can revert back to draft/awaiting approval rather than having to void a bill and re-enter it.
609 votesThank you for sharing your thoughts on the possible solution we shared a few months ago. After careful consideration taking all feedback on board, we will not be moving forward with this solution.
We're still considering how we might solve for the issues presented here over the long term and there are other pieces of work the team are currently delving into such as duplicate bills detection that may also help solve some needs here.
That said, we'll move the idea back to Submitted and continue to keep you updated on any progression that can help the needs expressed through the idea here. Thanks

Payment Services - Add Alipay as a payment service
Proposal: Integrating Alipay as a Payment Option in Xero
Overview
Introducing Alipay as a payment option for Xero invoices will provide significant benefits for businesses engaging with international markets, particularly China. As China is Australia’s largest trading partner, offering a seamless payment method like Alipay will enhance cash flow, improve payment experiences, and reduce barriers for Chinese customers to pay invoices.Key Reasons to Integrate Alipay:
China is Australia’s Largest Trading Partner
China accounts for a significant share of Australia’s exports and imports. For businesses that trade with Chinese companies or customers, Alipay is often the preferred or only method of payment.
Providing Alipay as an option makes it easier for Chinese partners to pay invoices promptly, avoiding delays caused by incompatible payment systems.
Alipay’s Market Dominance
Alipay is one of the most widely used payment platforms in China, with over 1.3 billion users worldwide.
It dominates the digital payment landscape, with Chinese businesses and individuals heavily reliant on it for transactions.
By integrating Alipay, Xero will enable businesses to cater directly to this massive user base.
Seamless Cross-Border Transactions
Traditional international bank transfers are often slow, expensive, and prone to errors, especially when dealing with currency conversions.
Alipay simplifies the process by allowing instant, secure payments while managing the exchange rate in real-time.
This will accelerate cash flow for businesses and reduce administrative overheads related to tracking international payments.
Increased Competitiveness for Xero
Competitors offering invoicing software may already be looking to integrate popular international payment methods.
Adding Alipay will enhance Xero’s value proposition for businesses that trade with Chinese partners, making it a preferred choice for international companies.
Facilitating Growth for Australian Businesses
Australian exporters, particularly in sectors like agriculture, education, gas, manufacturing, and tourism, rely heavily on Chinese customers.
Allowing payments via Alipay will make it simpler for these businesses to collect revenue, helping them focus on growth and strengthening trade relationships.
Improving Customer Experience
For Chinese businesses and individuals, paying via Alipay is familiar, trusted, and easy. This reduces friction and encourages prompt payments.
Businesses will experience fewer payment disputes or abandoned invoices when their customers can use their preferred method of payment.
Strengthening Xero’s Presence in Asia-Pacific
By supporting Alipay, Xero can bolster its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly among small-to-medium enterprises looking to trade with China.
This strategic move aligns with Xero’s goal to expand its reach and customer base globally.
Increased Adoption of Digital Payments
Alipay supports the global trend of moving towards cashless and digital payments.
Adding this payment option complements Xero’s existing tools for managing invoices, automating payments, and streamlining financial operations.
Implementation Benefits:
Reduced Payment Delays: Faster and more reliable transactions.
Improved Cash Flow: Businesses can access funds quickly and reduce waiting times.
Simplified Processes: Streamlined currency conversion and automated payment reconciliations.
Enhanced Customer Satisfaction: A payment method tailored to key trading partners.
Conclusion
Integrating Alipay into Xero’s platform will significantly enhance Xero’s appeal to businesses operating with Chinese customers and partners. This move will not only simplify the payment process but also improve cash flow, customer satisfaction, and Xero’s competitive position in the market. By acknowledging the needs of businesses in an increasingly global economy, Xero can continue to be a leader in innovative financial solutions.Proposal: Integrating Alipay as a Payment Option in Xero

UK Payroll - Salary Sacrifice segregation on Gross to Net report
Currently the Salary Sacrifice is just deducted on the Gross to Net report. Where as on the TB the amount is added. It would be good if this could be segregated.

Invoicing | Contact - Default address based on GPS
Hi,
My business often delivers the same or similar services to repeat customers. It would be useful if Xero could default the contact address based on GPS Location, and then even propose default invoice items and pricing to make the invoicing process easier. This reduces the risk of invoicing mistakes and adds efficiency into the process for invoice creation. Also helps with contact payment process improvement.1 voteHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

Reports - "Find a Report" search (from 'Home' tab) returns results from all tabs
Quality of Life suggestion:
At present, typing in a report name into the "Find a Report" search-box will only give you a return if you're in the correct tab (eg. searching from the 'Home' tab will not return any 'Custom' or 'Drafts' reports).
I suggest that reports from other tabs be included, at least when searching from the 'Home' tab, with an icon/heading to distinguish the tab-origin of the report.
(I appreciate 'Published' and 'Archived' returns could run into the hundreds, so perhaps a toggle/filter would suffice to omit/include those returns as desired)
1 voteHi Jonathan, thanks for this fantastic 'quality of life' suggestion. We really appreciate you taking the time to detail not just the idea, but also how it could work in practice.
We've reviewed your proposal to enhance the "Find a Report" search box so it returns results from all tabs – like 'Custom' and 'Drafts' – not just the one you're currently viewing. We can see how this would make finding the right report much faster.
Your idea is now open for other members of the community to support and add their thoughts to. Along with votes, others can now comment on how a global search for reports, perhaps with the filters you suggested, would improve their own day-to-day workflow.

UK Payroll - CIS Suffered Report, Correct Xero to allocate credit notes correctly
IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.
ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

Contacts - Search newly registered addresses
When adding a contact, the "search address" works fine most of the time, but can take some time before new addresses are added to the search data base and require manual entry (usually cut and paste from Google Maps.) Could this feature not be linked with an API to the likes of Googles address infrastructure to utilise their rapidly adapting data base?
3 votesThanks for the recent feedback here, team. This helps when sharing back with our product team. I've slightly amended the title of your idea.
We don't have any immediate plans for changing the current base results are pulled but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and I'll be sure to update you if there's any news.

Reconciliation - Auto search in find and match screen
when searching for an invoice number in find and match while doing reconciliation, it would be useful not to have to hit enter every time, especially as i can only search one invoice at a time. it all adds up to excess clicks when doing large batch reconciliations
