Sales report table by month and year on app
I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.

Bills - View PDF without downloading
It would be massively helpful to be able to preview the PDF invoice instead of having to click on and download it each time. If you could preview it alongside where you are inputting data on a Purchase invoice that you have sent to Xero by email - then you can check details side by side rather than having to print out the paper versions. Would be much more efficient

Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices
Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices.
We provide a subscription service which some of the 470+ customers have been using for years.
At times we make changes to T&Cs, the wording, rates, payment services etc. and it would be extremely times shaving if we could do bulk changes i.e. change the Item, Due Date, Reference, Payment Services etc, without having to go into each repeating invoice individually.

New Invoicing | Billable expense include Item Code and details
Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.

Invoicing - Option to add outstanding amounts to subsequent invoices at the bottom.
Could you enhance customer accounts by automatically adding outstanding amounts from previous invoices to the next issued invoice as a separate line item called 'outstanding fees'? This ensures customers can pay the full amount due, not just the current invoice.

New Invoicing - add "Hide invoice summary in email" option
Despite several separate requests on this forum, New Invoicing's email still begins with an invoice summary, unlike Classic Invoicing.
For us, relationship and communication are more important than asking for payment so Classic Invoicing's email is perfectly set up with our message first and the invoice following.
New Invoicing's email reverses this with the money part writ large at the top.
Andrew Chadwick described it better than I can in the post linked below. The idea has been marked as Delivered but, respectfully, it hasn't been. His and my points still stand.

Bills - Duplicate bill review
The duplicate bill review is very annoying. For instance, we have a supplier that sends us in a bill for £18.00 each month, without an invoice number, so every month it is flagged up as a duplicate bill for review, even though it's clearly not a duplicate as it has a different date. Please make it so that the date is also considered when identifying duplicates. It even lists all the bills that I have already reviewed and passed as okay! It's an annoying waste of time.

Improved and transparent user consultation prior to implementing changes.
Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.
The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

3 votesAppreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.
Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.
Our products teams have conducted lots of research and testing to refine deliveries, and Xero Product Ideas here is another great way for us to understand what matters most to our customers - As you noted, we are listening and keeping users updated as developments progress with the status updates.
We understand our customers would like to be more involved as we…

Invoicing Email Tracking Issue - Still Persisting: (Invoicing History and Notes)
Dear Xero Support,
We are writing to report a persistent issue with invoice email tracking that is significantly impacting our workflow. Despite previous reports and articles suggesting this has been resolved, we are still experiencing problems.
The issue: When sending invoices, the invoice history only displays "INV-***** Updated" and does not show the recipient's email address, as it did in classic invoicing. This makes it impossible to verify when an invoice was sent and to whom, hindering our ability to provide proof of sending to customers.
We understand that a manual note can be added as a workaround, but this…

Report - Option to remove account codes when publishing
Remove all account codes check box upon financial statement publishing
We need this check box added when we publish our EOFY financial statements - a similar box already exists to remove all decimal places yet we have to manually go to the trading statement, income statement, balance sheet and equity accounts and manually turn off account codes on each page.
A simple box to remove all account codes when publishing just like the decimal place box would be fantastic
Please fix this

Customer Payments - Payments on Account, instead of Overpayments/Prepayments
You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.
In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.

new invoice format
The old version of invoicing is more user-friendly compared to the new version. The new format is quite difficult to use, making the process less efficient.
Could you please consider keeping the old version of the invoicing format? It would be much more practical for our workflow.

Email template - Fully customise
The email template, for example sales invoice, controls most of the email body but not all of it. If the email template starts "Hi [Client]" for example, the actual email generated automatically adds content before this, namely a logo, company name, amount and due date. I would like to be able to control this content as well, but it seems unchangeable. In contrast, the invoice template allows full control so you can apply various branding. Please can you open up all the email content to be controlled by the template.

new invoicing
Can you resolve the issue where you click into the amount of value fields in the new invoicing and you cannot type/edit until clicking out and then back in again!
Can you also increase the character limit in the description field. I am unable to add all the detail from my jobs to the new invoicing so I have to flip to the original invoicing to complete my monthly accounts.
Also the the performance is terrible, I am running on an I9 Processor Computer, 32 GB RAM, SSD hard drive and a 1TB internet connection and it is very slow.

Classic invoicing? Yes. AI? No.
Was recently contacted by Xero with a request to complete a survey related to my interest in AI. Here's my idea. Fix the "new invoicing" before investigating/researching any additional tech. Do not introduce any further "new" features until you have the"old" ones up to scratch. A once amazing product is now abysmal, and to boot, the company is charging exorbitant prices for a substandard product. Here's another idea - listen to your clientele. Keep classic invoicing.

New invoicing - Searching items by start of field
New Invoicing - Type in Item - please change back to only searching start of field, as per old invoicing.
Now that typing in the Item field in the new invoicing brings up every item with that word or part word in anywhere, we either need to learn all the codes, or make sure our items all contain totally different words. It takes ages to find the item required.16 votes -
Notes - Ability to Tag users
It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful7 votes -
UK Payroll - Track the table based DEA Deductions
There is currently an option for a DEA to be table based when setting it up, however this doesn't do any of the calculations for the DEA. Instead, they need to be calculated manually & entered as a fixed amount. There is also no way of keeping track of the amounts deducted until the total has been paid within Xero, this also has to be done manually. This can especially be difficult if the employee's pay varies each period.

Bank Reconciliation - Sort statement lines by most recent date
I always want to reconcile my newest transactions first, as they are freshest in my head. It's actually become pretty maddening not having this feature.
