Invoicing - Remove UTM tracking parameter from online invoice links
At present when you create an invoice and then use the triple dot menu and "get Link" option you are presented with a overlay which gives you the Invoice link that you can give to the customer. But this link includes an extra querystring parameter utm_source - I want a setting that stops this being added to any links.
The links currently look like this:
https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXX?utm_source=newInvoicingGetLinkButtonAnd I want them to look like this:
https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXXThey are long and ugly looking with the UTM parameter and current I have to remove this manually from every link. I also think adding tracking links to invoices is not a great thing for Xero to do unless we have an option to opt out.

Bank Feeds - Bank Feeds for ethical banks
Our charity places values first and in searching for a new current account for our organisation, ones with high ethical standards that synchronise with Xero is a very restricted field. CAF, Unity Trust, Triodos for example do not have bank feeds and they say this capacity sits with Xero. We currently bank with The Cooperative that scores well, and we have had to leave Barclays who have been exposed as very poor. To reduce risk we must have another account so my idea is that Xero takes the lead on establishing connections with more ethical banks enabling better choice for stakeholders and encouraging better banking practices.

AU Payroll - Code leave to account other than Salary and Wages
It would be great if we could code annual leave to another account code other than salary and wages. Currently we manually journal these costs to another account in the ledger to separate them. This helps with reporting wages like for like.

xero version 2022
We chose xero because it was competitively priced and had all the features that we required as a small business. We trade in EUR and GBP so have to take the professional product. 2 years ago it cost us 39.60 GBP per month. In September it will cost us 43% and include a range of swanky features we have no intention of using. How about including in your product range the 'xero 22' - a stable product that worked great for so many people. The alternative is an unrecognisable product with equally mystifying price tag.
2 votesHi Matthew, we appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. However, on this occasion we will be moving your idea here to Not planned. As with many software businesses we need to continue to upgrade and develop our technology so we can deliver more of the features our customers are asking for. You can see some of our latest updates here. If you are experiencing any issues with the Xero product, please get in touch by raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support.

AU Payroll - Exclude team pay rates from timesheets
When you invite an employee to xero me for the purpose of submitting their timesheet, there is a drop down menu for the payrate. In this drop down, it shows 'Self' payrate (the payrate of the person submitting the time sheet) and also 'Team' payrate, a list of all the different payrates of the company. Why would you want an employee to be able to see the different payrates of the team?
This seems like a flaw in the system to me and an employee should only be able to see the payrate that applies to them.

Invoices - Enable deduction of withholding tax
A type of tax code should be possible in which the tax is subtracted from, rather than added to, the invoiced amount for that line item.
Rationale: Many countries require that a foreign supplier's invoice be subject to withheld tax if the supplier doesn't have a satisfactory tax treaty entitlement.
Example:
We use a reverse-invoice process for our Australian supplier to record payments due to them based on our activity. This activity often attracts a royalty fee that we must pay.
The UK requires us to withhold 5% of this royalty fee, and pay this over HMRC quarterly.
To create the correct Bill, I enter a line on the "Bill" line showing the total royalty due, and then another line for the tax = a number calculated by typing an arithmetic formula such as
-200*.05
This line is now a negative number allocated to a withholding tax account. The negative number reduces the total on Bill.
This is clumsy manual process prone to errors. I would like to be able to automate the calculation and the allocation of withheld tax to a specified account and the subtraction of this tax -- similar to the way VAT is automatically calculated, allocated to the VAT account, and added to total.
I am aware that many countries have similar tax requirements. It would be good to enable a way for businesses to create withholding tax codes for their particular situation.

Bills - Hide archived items when creating repeating bills
Whilst creating or editing "normal" bills, archived Products and Services don't appear in the Item pick lists to choose from. However, when creating or editing Repeating Bills ALL the Products and Services appear in the Item pick lists, irrespective of whether they're active or archived.
With many Products and Services archived (we have to renew them all annually), this makes the resetting of our Repeating Bills very labourious and makes the chances of making errors many times greater, as we can accidently choose archived Products and Services.
This looks to be a bug in the system that needs rectifying quickly.

Cash In/Out Graph - Ability to remove
Can you please add functionality to permanently turn off cash in/out graph for those of us who find it irritating
4 votesHi Luise, while not at a user level you can Edit the Dashboard in an organisation to remove the Cash In and Out graph. You can also move the placement of the widget on your Dashboard so it's not in primary view.

Reporting - Allow Memo Accounts for non-financial information
We would like to be able to capture non-financial (eg head count) and statistical numbers (eg Order Book) in Xero and add it into Xero reports alongside the existing financial information for management reporting
Currently it seems that accounts that are added automatically appear in the Chart Of Accounts.
Could another Account Type be created that allows memo accounts to be created outside the CoA?5 votes -
Credit Note for Repeating Invoices
I recently commented about the new invoicing not showing credit notes available, what I didn't realise that this was only for Repeating Invoices, not standard generated invoices which do infact show the credit available.
Some of our regular clients like to prepay so there are often credits to use. Upon approving a repeating invoice, the classic used to say there was a credit available on that contact, click here to use it. There is no such feature on the new repeating invoicing to indicate there is a credit available you have to go and manually check. As well as not informing you of an available credit, if you look at the new approved (repeating) invoice there is no way apply an existing credit (only to create and apply a new credit), you need to go back and find the oldest credit note and apply it in that direction. Please note this did not happen when I set up a new repeating invoice but of course I can only try that in the first instance as the options are weekly or monthly, and it may code that initial repeating invoice as a standard invoice. So I can only advise this happens with our existing Repeating Invoices at this stage. Classic invoicing could apply credit notes from the repeating invoice or from the credit note.

2 votesHi Claire, I've tried replicating your scenario here using both a newly created and an existing repeating template.
In both cases when I open an invoice that has been generated from the template and credit is available I can see an option on the invoice to Apply credit (as shown in my image)
Could you please raise a case on this with our Xero support team on Xero Central. They have tools to be able to look into this deeper and confirm what's going on and why credit is not appearing for application in your invoices.

Email Templates - Account Number Placeholder
In Organisation Settings / email settings / templates
Can we have a place holder to allow us to include our Account Number in the subject and body of our default emails to clients for invoices and statements10 votesThanks for the confirmation, Sally. We have some current work underway with the email send modal in invoices, however I want to be open that at the time the team are not extending to add new placeholders that can be used.
For now, as you may have found you can edit the default email to add the Contact Account Number before sending the invoice. Appreciate wanting something more automated and we'll continue to track the interest of this idea and share if there's any development.

AU Payroll - Report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination
When using the Leave Paid out on Termination feature in xero, the paid out leave is recorded in the Holiday Leave Accrual category. This means we are unable to run a report showing the value of unused entitlements paid out on Termination. This is important information for Workcover Reconciliations etc. Please set up a report for Unused Leave Paid out on Termination.

Bank Rules - Add notes for rules
I want to be able to add notes to rules I setup, but I don't want to use the description field as that shows on the books. I like to know why I chose not to set a tax rate on a rule, or if the business owner has told me something specific about a re-occurring transactions that they may not always provide a receipt for. I would like to have something to look back at so that I understand why I set it up as I did. Hopefully that makes sense?

Navigation - More quick links to speed up data entry
I migrated from QB Desktop to Xero last year, and whilst Xero produces the accounts etc perfectly well I find processing book-keeping data takes me around 20% longer than it used to. Here are a few ideas which would speed this up:
1. Have a button to scroll to next or last invoice, bill, journal etc rather than having to look at a transaction, then go back to the list to see the next transaction.
2. Allow a default bank account to be set up for e.g. payments, receipts etc
3. Able to use + - buttons to increase / decrease date by a day
3. Able to set default date to the one used in the previous transaction rather than always defaulting to today
4. Add more functions to the + menu e.g. debtor receipts, bills to pay, or allow users to add their own functions to that menu.I migrated from QB Desktop to Xero last year, and whilst Xero produces the accounts etc perfectly well I find processing book-keeping data takes me around 20% longer than it used to. AU Payroll - Add or edit breaks in timesheets
There is no functionality to retroactively add or edit break times into an employees submitted timesheet. It would be good to be able to edit or add a break time on the timesheet if they forget before approving it.

Business performance - Negative + negative resulting in incorrect profit
Mathematically a negative x a negative = a positive. But when this is gross profit @ 312%, it does not represent the business financial position.
1 voteHi Charlotte, sorry we haven't responded to your idea sooner. Appreciate your screenshot and raising this with us. I'd recommend this is something our Xero Support team take a deeper look into with you. If you can raise a case with them through Xero Central they have tools to be able to escalate this with our product team if not working as it should.
