  1. When running employee leave transaction reports, it would be good for this report to also include employee unpaid leave, as presently this option is not available. The only way to run an unpaid leave report is to run a leave request report, export and edit as required. We have to submit reports to the ADMS for our apprentice claims, and a report including all leave is required.

    We really value the contributions and support this idea has received from the community here - Thanks everyone. 

    While we've evaluated and fully get why you'd like more visibility of your employees unpaid leave, we want to be transparent that atm leave reporting isn't in the roadmap for the near term. You can see some of the recent development for the AU Payroll space on The Long and Short Of It.  

    For the time being you could add a few filters within the Leave Requests report, and then export to a spreadsheet to gather the unpaid leave data you need.

    We know this will be disappointing news, but we really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Though we have updated the status to Not in pipeline members can continue to add votes here and we'll keep tracking the trend for future considerations. Thanks 

  2. I've just set up a salary sacrifice for a cycle to work scheme in payroll. However there isn't an end date in Xero so I have to manually diarise a date to stop the salary sacrifice for the employees. Please could a box be added to automate this.

  3. It would be great to have the option to select multiple projects at once, e.g. Like there is for transactions. This would provide so much better management of projects. Currently it is is soooo slow to delete projects. Each deletion requires three clicks of the mouse and then the page refreshes. Such basic functionality which would be transformative in managing lots of projects.

    In addition in the API there is no way to bulk delete projects either. Very frustrating!

  4. When bulk importing invoices, I want everything to have the same item code and description.

    BUT when they import, the item description does not pull through.

    And the item code needs reclicking to make it pull through.

    Therefore, you have to go into every invoice individually.

    It should be updated so that when you import invoices, everything pulls through correctly.

  5. On our batch payment printout auditors want someone to sign them off and say they've randomly verified bank accounts. Is there any way to customise the batch payment printout to include:
    1. Random bank accounts verified (with tick box)
    2. Signature area
    3. Name of Person Signing off

  6. When you create repeat invoices it only allows discount in % but when you create a manual invoice you can have discount in % or £. This should allow both for repeat invoices as well.

  7. Currently when using the new reports, bookmarking a page in Xero will take us to the specific organisation that the bookmarked screen was in.

    But when using the old reports, bookmarking a page in Xero for example Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022, when i click on the bookmark link it will bring me to the Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022 for whichever organisation i am working on. This makes it easy when i'm looking at multiple entities.

    Since Xero is phasing out the old reports, can you please bring this feature into the new report?

    Hey community,

    Thanks for all your feedback on this idea.

    As you’ve found, users could bookmark reports and that bookmark would work across organisations. However, this caused some strange behaviour when navigating between organisations in bookmarked reports.

    By including a unique Organisation ID in the the new report URLs, the data displayed is consistent with the organisation the report was bookmarked in. The result is that users can navigate away from a bookmarked report, without Xero updating the organisation.

    To be transparent here, this was a deliberate change, and there are no plans to re-implement book-markable links to reports.

  8. To allow the payroll team to run reports to runs checks on the payroll before submitting the payroll. This would avoid sending numerous automatic FPS reports to HMRC.

  9. Automatically generate payment invoices when creating payroll.
    The current help article suggests creating spent money entries on the fly when reconciling.
    It would be better to be able to generate accurate payment and separate code tax invoices when the payday is filed.
    The advantages are that:
    - the payment is reconciled to where it is created ensuring it is correct,
    - the invoices are easily selectable into batch payments from payable invoices which correctly connects to bank batch payments,
    - payments to IRD could be raised to different contacts for each payment type allowing the right references to be attached…

  10. So far I know Xero only have features of sending overdue invoice reminder to customers, but in absence of the feature I mentioned. This feature is good for the operation.
    The invoice overdue days could be set by us and automatically send the notification to our preset email address once the overdue day came. So that, our customer services staff can easily be notified all the overdue invoice and doing their followup tasks.

  11. Better documentation for BankAccountNumber needed.

    The documentation for importing contacts is not clear, specifically how to include banking details.

    First time users, such as myself, could be greatly assisted if the documentation for the BankAccountNumber was described as <bsb><space><account number>.

    I did a large number of documentation and Google searches before it clicked that the BSB and account number are both specified in the BankAccountNumber field. This is not obvious.

  13. The new W-9 Request feature is nice. However, it would be even better if there was a way to send the request using the Organization's email address rather than the Bookkeeper's or Accountant's email address. Contractor's might disregard the email request if they don't know who the Bookkeeper or Accountant is and don't recognize the sender's email address.

    Hi Lara, while not a complete solution for what you're after as you still need to send from an external email provider - I wanted to share a recent update we've made so you can now link directly to your email client from the W-9 in both Contacts and 1099. We've also provided an email template which you can easily edit to adjust any details you'd prefer such as adding the organisation title. See more on this in our help.

  14. Suppliers that have a foreign currency default on their account should show the balance owing to them in that currency and not in gbp. This is very confusing for users who are not familiar with xero or experienced in accounts. Another colleague of mine paid the amount owing on their supplier account thinking it was USD as the supplier invoices in USD only and that is their default currency, however it shows as owing in GBP, therefore the incorrect amount was paid to them?

    Thanks for your feedback, Christine. Appreciate how this could help though I want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing this atm. 

    It would help in passing on your feedback to the right team to know if there is a specific area in Xero that you'd most commonly view the balance owing to your supplier - e.g would this be within their contact record, or do you run a particular report to view multiple supplier balances at once?

    Hey everyone, as a first off we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that filled in their details and engaged with our teams research in this space.

    I'm pleased to return with a further update for you all.

    We have been developing the capability fir employees to self onboard to Xero Payroll. Our feature would enable employees to enter their own onboarding details via a secure web form. Giving payroll admins back more time to focus on more important tasks.

    We want to be upfront that the intention is to release this in the Australian version of Xero Payroll first, with NZ and UK to follow. We will keep you up to date of the release here. 😊

  16. TEMPLATE FOR COMMON SPLIT PAYMENTS
    We need to be able to save a split payment as a template (like a bank rule)
    eg: registration is always split with gst, no gst etc, let us save that transaction as a template for easy recon next time. Bank rule isnt helpfull as when you have 20 different regos being paid to the same company then a simple split template would be very helpful

    Hi team, while we appreciate you raising your idea here. Not getting much community traction overtime, and not being in our current roadmap we will remove this idea from the forums.

    While I appreciate it's not solution you're after, to import transactions that match multiple statement lines you could consider importing these as Invoices or Bills.

    With regard to the consideration of templates for split payments, one option could be to use the percentage split option in Bank rules rather than the fixed amount.

    If this idea is still important and would make a big impact to your business flows, you're welcome to start it again to see if there is renewed interest from the community.

  17. Suggestion: enable the 'Columns' feature that is available in the customer activity list to more parts of Xero. I would like to be able to hide the 'Cost Price' column from Products & Services on the front-of-house system so it's not visible to customers when we are doing a price check.

  18. 2 TOIL options, TOIL accrued & TOIL Accrued in place of Overtime

    We are unable to mark a Time in Lieu Leave pay item as exempt from accruing SGC, which is not how the ATO classifies SGC for TOIL.

    We suggest having 2 TOIL categories, so that there is the option for a TOIL where SGC is required to be paid and one wit SGC exempt:- when super is accrued on overtime.

  20. I frequently create draft invoices to keep track of work to be billed. When I send the invoice (at the completion of a production stage for example), XERO keeps the date of the first draft invoice, which can be weeks or even months old. I have a setting of 7 days as due date. Clients then receive an invoice with a long gone due date, which is extremely confusing, if I forget to update the issue date to today. It would make a lot of sense if XERO entered the date of the issue automatically! Apparently there is no default…
