  1. New bank rec reports are based on the start of the month to the current date as a default. The old bank rec report just had an end date. Would like a fast way to move end date field and not have to also alter the start date.

Hey community! As a few of you have rightly pointed out, the previously posted workaround isn’t suitable if your end date is prior to your start date. In this case, you will have to update both start and end fields.

Thank you to everyone that flagged that, and apologies for the confusion.

Because the the Bank Reconciliation summary lives in the Bank Reconciliation reporting pack, the date picker available is the same as the other bank reports (Bank Statement and Statement Exceptions).

Understand that some users would prefer an ‘as-at’ date instead, similar to the older report. In the meantime, you can select the same date in both fields to achieve this.

As that doesn't quite solve this for some users, we're leaving this idea open to continue to collect and share your feedback with our product team.

  2. Project Summary Report always had actual hours and estimated hours on and since it has been updated this option is no longer available and that is 2 of the most important columns for us. Also the wording of the headings have changed and no longer match the Project Details report which is ridiculous. This report needs to be converted back to how they used to be.

  4. So simple but not available. To record an absence i.e. sickness (unpaid) IN DAYS and to have a simple report showing dates and number of days sick.

The payroll reporting is so seriously lacking in all areas

  5. A report to see how much each staff member is billing out per month. There are similar reports like the write on/off report but it doesn't seem entirely accurate.

Hi Eilish, is there are particular way your staff are recording how they bill customers through your Xero organisation atm? - e.g are you using Projects, or Tracking?

As you noted there maybe a report that we an suggest that'll fully serve your needs in this here.

  6. Regarding the budget variance report, I wish to be able to add a column and select both tracking categories i.e. by program and session in "edit layout". Our goal is to produce a report which we can see the actual v budget of each program by session i.e. Columns as follows; Budget 'Program' Session 1, Actual 'Program' Session 1, Budget 'Program' Session 2, Actual 'Program' Session 2, Budget 'Program' Session 3, Actual 'Program' Session 3.

If you create a new budget variance report, you can initially filter by both tracking codes. However, if you choose to "edit layout"…

    Hey Community 👋

Earlier this year we rolled a change to our budget variance report, that allows you to select multiple tracking categories when adding a new column in the Edit Layout mode.

I've attached a screenshot of where these tracking categories can be found, but for more info, check out our Budget Variance article on Xero Central!

  7. Make Xero report codes for use in generic Xero reports (instead of just bookkeepers reports only) - e.g. P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.

  8. I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.

I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.

For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".

However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")

Thanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team.

It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve.

However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition.

    For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

  9. Add tax depreciation schedules in report packs.
Currently, only have the option of accounting depreciation but can't change it to tax depreciation.

Hi community, thanks for contributing your support and interest for adding Tax Depreciation Schedules to report packs. With a recent update we've made it possible for Partners to include Tax Depreciation schedule as a report in Report templates.

You'll find the Depreciation Schedule, Disposal Schedule, Pooling Summary and Pooling detail all options when adding reports to a template from your practice. 🙂

  10. Contacts report that shows contact details (name address etc) and Activity in last Financial Year.
This would assist in cleanups of multiple contacts / old contacts etc.

  11. Now that directors fees are considered allowances, they don't show up in the employee remuneration report because that is for OTE only.
I would greatly appreciate being able to include directors on the remuneration report because the board asks for total remuneration on a monthly basis.

Aaah thanks for the clarification, Vicky and Alex. You could use the Management report to add the Top Customers report. Appreciate that the chart itself displays for Gross figures right now. We'll continue gathering interest for this here.

In regards to the sort order of the report - By default contacts will be sorted by the Gross column, however you can add a Net column and re-sort by clicking on any column header. 🙂

  14. Bank reconciliation - A report that will show each bank transaction and then which invoice it has been reconciled against, as a way of having a quick way to check something has been reconciled incorrectly. Currently, the only way is to view each transaction through the account transaction report.

Good to hear you're aware of how you can run the Account Transactions report to view this information, Catherine - Is there a reason or something missing from this report that would help you when reviewing transactions?

  15. To be able to file a Gross to Net report and subtotal by tracking category. It's the only way that we would be able to report per category of worker. This is built into Sage and really important for a lot of businesses.

  17. Is there the ability to make the cashflow report into an accrual report also so we have one report that can show p&l and capital expenditure with an area for adjusted accounts payable/receivable still outstanding and then projecting the bank balance.

Currently we use a 12-month P&L and then have to do a separate balance sheet and it doesn't quite hit the mark.

  18. Previously in the old format Aged Payable Summary and Detail reports you could run the report at the end of the month and change the Ageing by option to be by Due date and the report would then exclude any invoices with a due date later than the month end it was being run by. However when doing the same in the new format report this does not work and the Current column shows invoices for the month as being due even if they have a due date of later than the month end date being selected i.e. the …

Hi community, rounding back from my last update - Credit Limits are now available to everyone within the Aged Receivables Summary report! 😊

💡You'll see a common format in the left side bar or  can customise the general report to include Credit Limit and Available Credit as columns within your own layout - More detail on the report here

  20. We are after a report which shows the leave accrual rates for each individual employee in bulk report. I know we can view each individual employee by clicking on their leave balance and looking at the "Hours of leave accrued annually by a full-time employee. However for businesses with a large number of employees, this is very time consuming, therefore we would like a bulk report we can run to view all employees accrual rates in the one report.
