  1. We need the ability to add multiple email addresses for a client. Not extra Contacts, but the main email address for a client. Currently you can only enter one email address, this is the address that tax payment letters (for example) are automatically sent to. However, some clients want these to go to more than one address. We have to keep a separate spread sheet and our Tax administrator needs to manually send tax payment letters to those clients.

  4. We require additional report codes, particularly for financials, in the Adviser reports. More codes are needed to group and map Fixed Assets, and it's necessary to further breakdown Plant and Equipment into categories such as Furniture & Fittings and Office Equipment. We spend excessive time modifying report layouts to achieve this, and automation would be more efficient. Additional user-defined fields that are compatible with our practice would also be advantageous.

  5. Can we have the ability to search for a transaction , by amount , payee or description across all bank accounts. Rather than having to go into each bank account and sort dates etc and than search. Having the option to choose all bank accounts, rather than an individual bank account would be awesome.

    Hi team, I wanted to share that the recent updates for the Reconcile page have now been released to all users. This includes a search bar at the top of the page and includes filters for date range and amount. This provides the ability to look up criteria of your statement lines and narrow down your search. 

    You'll also find you can now view more statement lines per page, with up to 50 at a time - You'll find more on this and other updates shared on our blog. 

    We appreciate the ask on this idea is a search across all statement lines, across all bank accounts. I want to confirm this is not something we have plans for developing at this stage, and I'll move this idea back to 'submitted' so we can continue to track and update you if there is any progress of this, here. 

  6. Ability to transfer customised reports between practices or other businesses. Currently this is not possible so if a client changes accounting practices then reports do not follow. This is expensive for the client for reports to be redone and totally unnecessary given that all the formatting necessary already exists on another system.

    Thanks for all the detail around the different scenarios a pause function for the timer would help with.


    Our team have been taking interest in ideas in the forums here. 

    With the way the timer works with Practice Manager today, developing the ability to pause this would require extensive work and this isn't something we're able to resource at this time.


    As we enhance integrations through practice manager our practice teams will continue to track ideas on the site here, and share if there's any change.

  10. Hi there

    We would like to request that the GST Return, GST Reconciliation and general ledger reports are able to be included in the report packs at the practice level.

    We are requesting this function to streamline reporting for periodic GST work. We would ideally have two report packs set up at the practice level that all staff can access when preparing clients GST.

    Hi everyone, to provide an update relating to the original reports that were raised in this idea, and feedback through the thread. The following reports are all available to add to a report template in Xero HQ;

    • General Ledger Detail 
    • General Ledger Summary 
    • General Ledger Exceptions
    • Tax Depreciation Schedule


    We currently have no plans to make other reports available in report templates.

  11. I would love to see an improvement with Xero XPM NOTES.

    We seem to leave 2 types of notes.

    TYPE 1: is URGENT, we want people within the firm to see it and read it. It would be good if you could select this note to be a banner across the top of the clients screen. Similar to how if the client has a debt it shows at the top. (love that function)

    TYPE 2: is just an ordinary note that is sufficient with the current design.

    It would also be great if you could share notes across multiple clients…

    Hi everyone, though appreciative of the idea. This is a function available through the Xero Tax Product with a Xero advisor, and we don’t have plans for developing this capability from within a Xero organisation.

    You can find an advisor to suit your full business needs through Advisor Connect.

  14. Integrate a bank statement generator into bank feeds so accountants and bookkeepers can send a request directly to the clients bank for a bank statement for quarterly bank reconciliation. Pre-approved by client when bank feed integration is setup. Alternatively, automated bank statements per quarter generated and uploaded to Xero via bank automation.

  16. Allow Hubdoc to publish a receipt to an existing 'BILL' in Xero without creating and new transaction and duplicating the amount. Failure to do this forces the user to upload the receipt directly into Xero files instead or opt not to use the BILL feature in Xero and publish transitions in real time from Hubdoc instead. For those wishing to have all their receipts in a magical shoe box in the cloud (Hubdoc) it appears that this would be a way forward.

    Sorry for the status confusion here, Simone. Atm, our team has no plan in building the ability to roll forwards the balance sheet items in Workpapers for now. Rest assured that we’ll still gauge the interest in the community here, so keep voting and let us know how this feature can ease your workflow.

  20. Integrate workpapers module into Xero with direct links to the Xero trial balance. Importing the trial balance is impractical and time wasting and the allocation of the account balances within workpapers is dependant on the report code allocations. You should have to option to view all the account balances and the net profit or loss from the trial balance when viewing workpapers to ensure all balance sheet accounst are included.
