  1. Retain the This Make manual tax adjustments from the invoice subtotal in New Invoicing. This is a feature that I use as I have to import sales figures from an external program and the VAT figure is different by a small amount But I don't want to have to alter each line on the invoice.

  3. When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
    At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.

  4. Exclude new auto save updates from History and Notes. It made sense to save these when it was manual but now it just clutters the history so badly with every auto save creating a new entry.

  5. The ability to set up a repeating customer prepayment. We have customers who pay on account every month. We then create an invoice at the end of a billing period (Quarterly, annually etc) and then use their prepayments against the invoice. It would be useful to automate the prepayment creation so that we can reconcile the payment made by the customer to their prepayment. Creating the multiple prepayment forms every single month for all of our clients is tedious.

    Hi Reuben, thanks for the detail in your idea here - It sounds like you're currently manually creating the prepayment in Xero and then manually reconciling this once it's received in your bank account?

    Though not a repeat prepayment feature like you're asking however you could create the transaction right when you're reconciling - From the Create option in the Reconcile screen click Add details which will open the modal. Here you can click the drop down on the Received as and change this from Direct Payment to Prepayment.

    Totally get this doesn't automate the creation of the transaction completely, however could help save a few steps each month. LMK if this helps 🙂

  6. When printing a PDF the file opens in a new tab so it can be printed instead of downloading the file. Xero downloads the PDF to file when the "Print PDF" button is clicked creating file clutter and unnecessary steps to print a PDF. It would be useful if the PDF opened in a new tab and could be printed immediately without downloading the file first like other accounting software does. This will save time and clutter in files.

    Thank you for your suggestion to have PDFs open in a new tab or preview window for easier printing.

    Currently, as you know, Xero downloads PDFs directly to your device before you can print them. While we’ve looked into opening PDFs in a new tab, there are challenges like browser pop-up blockers and security concerns that make this difficult to support smoothly for everyone.

    At this stage, there are no plans to change the current process. However, your feedback is valued, and you can continue to share your thoughts and support for this idea on our product ideas page.

  7. When adding many backup files to an Invoice it would save time if there was a check box to "attached ALL files to online Invoice" rather than having to tick each file.

  8. Sales tab - Love the "Billable Expenses", Needs to be above Quotes.
    Need to be able to not bill them where I have a project invoice. Just assign the customer.

    Hi team, thanks for your feedback on this idea. Our team are currently working on a refreshed Sales overview page which will soon be rolling out to customers. As part of this work they'll be solving for the idea here with Billable expenses sitting before Quotes. 😊

  9. When using the mobile app, currently once an invoice has been completed and emailed, it says "unpaid invoice" in a blue banner at the top. It is sometimes difficult to notice the little popup which says "invoice sent" at the bottom, and this could lead to the invoice being sent again.

    Changing the color of the banner at the top (i.e. to green) would be a nice visual indicator the email has already been sent.

    Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how a color-coded banner could make it easier to manage on the mobile app. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means the Xero community can now vote and comment to show their interest. If this is something your peers would like to see as well, we'd love for you to share this with them and welcome others to join the conversation and add their support. We'll keep an eye on how this develops and share updates along the way.

  10. When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."
    This means that I have to…

  12. When you export invoices, it gives you multiple lines for any invoice which has more than one line. It is therefore not possible to easily total up the amounts due because some invoices are on there multiple times meaning the values are overstated.

    Hi Stewart, is there a way you see the export being more helpful for you. For example would you be looking for a summary of each invoice? The Receivable Summary and Detail reports maybe useful for this sort of view and can be exported.

    Further to our previous update on this request, we'll continue to track the interest for adding multiple lines at once from this idea.

    As for this idea, the community can add their votes and comment to share additional detail about how this idea could also improve their experience with Xero.

  15. On the classic invoicing there is a send button at the top by email, print pdf etc that you can use to send to another xero customer. This feature is no longer on the new invoicing version. It would be good to have the send button back

    Hi Samantha, when referring to send would this be the 'Email' button in classic?

    If so this is actually still available in new invoicing, you'll find the option in the 3 dot menu at the top of the page 🙂

  16. In an ideal world when a client pays us via Stripe 100% of the fee would be reconciled and XERO/Stripe would invoice us separately on a regular basis for the applicable Stripe fees.

    Reviewing the idea here, we want to be open that this isn't something we will develop.

    This is how Xero/stripe surcharges, and you can set the relevant % surcharge. Once the payment has processed the surcharge amount is paid as part of the payout amount.

  17. When your quote involves different vendors, it would be nice to have the option to create POs with a click of a button for all the vendors but because you can't specify a vendor for each item then at least let us select the line items. Also very important, any additional information that was added to the description during the quote / invoice process should be carried over to the PO.

  18. Classic view invoicng compared to the new view invoicing. The new version shows figures entered as 123456789.00 but Classic View correctly shows 123,456,789.00. All figures should be shown in 123,456,789.00 format. It's accounting after all! This is not a suggestion, this should be a bug fix, especially before new invoicing is enforced.

  19. When creating a new invoice, the search scope includes every contact in the database, every vendor, evert coffee shop or gas station anyone ever used a credit card at. Xero knows which contacts are Customers (there's a Customer Invoice report), it should pull from Customers only. For the use case where someone is invoicing someone for the first time, they can open that Contact and then click New Invoice.
