Statement - Include invoice description
Ability to have the invoice description on statements sent to customers.
62 votesThanks for your feedback on the thread. Though not useful for all, we did bring attention to the reports that could help some people in the forums here.
We'll continue to consider this and other ideas for customer statements as the platform evolves.
Again not a full resolve but another option that could be handy for some is the inclusion of the Outstanding bills link when sending individual invoices to your customers. Through this, persons of a contact will be able to view and get detail of the invoices they have outstanding with you at any given time.

Invoices - Show payment advice on last page of invoice only
When creating sales invoices in Xero, the cut away remittance slip (or "payment advice") appears at the bottom of the invoice, but if your invoice has several line items and therefore goes over one page, the remittance slip still shows on the first page and makes the invoice look disjointed.
We have played around with the custom invoice feature but because the remittance slip is in the footer of the invoice template, there doesn't seem to be a way for us to manually change this so that it only appears on the last page.
If Xero could build this feature…

Invoicing | View outstanding bills - Simpler process to access
Title says it all, the current process requires a customer to full sign up with Xero (and be almost/forced to PAY) just to see an invoice history.
This should be accessible via a rotating link where the current "View all invoices" link is in the upper right -- or extremely simple login system that just takes an email and password.
5 votesHi Adam, understand that there can be confusion for a customer if it is their first time making use of the link and not already having a Xero account.
The need for the user to create a Xero login to access and view their outstanding invoices with you if for yours and their security in the information that can be viewed.
Appreciate you may like a simpler sign up process for them and I have slightly adjusted the title of your idea here for this. It's not something we have intentions of developing at this time, but we will get a sense of the wider interest from your idea here.

Xero with Stripe: Support for Afterpay payments
Now that Stripe offers Afterpay, it would be helpful to add Afterpay to Xero's native Stripe integration.
53 votesHi team, we're developing more ways to pay with Stripe!
Soon you'll have the option to offer Afterpay as a payment method to your customers which we know is important to all of you who've voted on this idea.
I'll round back to confirm when it's live and more detail of how to do this. 🙂

Sales Invoice - Auto allocate Overpayments based on Invoice date
Just an idea that might help a lot of businesses.
We generate a lot of invoices over the span of one month, the feature of bank rules are amazing, but ineffective if the payment is a overpayment.I would like to have a way for Xero to have a Global setting to auto allocate overpayments to the oldest invoice for customers.
Currently overpayments will go to the customer account and just lay there until manually allocated to an invoice.
With bank rules it will automate the process by adding payments as overpayments to the customer account and then auto allocating…

Quote - Button to Accept from email received
Create a accept quote button/link within the quote email template so clients can hit the button within their email client to accept quotes instead of having to view it online or missing it within the attached PDF quote.

Quotes - Ability to create multi-section quote
Multiple sections in a single quote with their own separate totals.
Purpose: when quoting on similar products with different pricing to present to a client, with their own separate totals. Currently, we have to send a separate quote to the same client which means they're receiving multiple emails from us.

Branding - Improve logo size and resolution on transactions
Ability to add bigger better quality logo's at the top of the body of invoices sent as emails.
132 px x 37 px ends up so tiny and always blury (I have tried all formats but some sort of extra compression is going on in the backend. Don't look so good for us graphic designers ;-)ps: screen shot attached so you can see where I mean, designscope logo always blury :-(
61 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the interest in being able to display logos as you need. There are a few different situations mentioned in feedback here and we want to explain and help clarify how logos are shown when using Xero.
The first is how your organisations logo is shown within the invoice email sent to your customer. This is taken from the organisation settings page. There was a period that impacted some customers where the logo quality was being reduced when sending with new invoicing. Taking on board feedback our team implemented a change in new invoicing so this should now be appearing correctly - If you’re finding your logo quality is not showing correctly in the invoice email please do raise a case with our team and they can investigate more on this with you individually.
The second place the logo is shown is on the PDF of…

Customer Statement - Option to remove allocated payments
Customer Statements - the current statements show payments allocated to invoices. This is confusing for customers who make part payments. Can Xero please bring in an option to not include payment allocations as our customers only want to view their statements by looking at the amounts they actually paid, not the break ups
31 votesAppreciate wanting to see a direct option within customer statements that exist in Xero.
An option here would be to run the Customer Invoice Activity report where you can filter by Source to remove payment type sources such as 'Receivable Payment'. Once set up this could be saved as a custom report to be run with your filters at any time. 🙂

Sales invoices - Option to turn off prompt for allocating available credit
When we create a bilk of invoices we are stuck with Xero trying each time to allocate an existing Credit Note that will possibly never be allocated. How do we disable this annoying function?

Sales invoice - Ability to combine or merge multiple invoices to one
Our new system separately invoices every job we complete. This gets loaded into xero invoices, ATM you can copy these individual jobs and they can be put on to one invoice, great.
However Xero wont let you add more jobs to this invoice by the same copy facility.
It only gives you the option of a customer name not an invoice number.
I would like to be able to add jobs daily to this invoice and send my customer one invoice at the end of the week/month.15 votes -
Invoices - Set 'copy to' same as 'reply to' email address
I have multiple clients for whom I perform varying tasks. I log in and work on their accounts with my practice email.
When sending invoices on clients' behalf, or paying bills to clients' suppliers, the copy invoice or remittance advice goes to my practice email as I am the logged in user. The person/company who needs this copy is my client (whose email is the 'reply to').
At present I have to then log into my emails and forward the copies to my clients manually, (as filters get confused) and ensuring it is the correct client if I have been…

Bill - Copy a paid bill to a Credit Note
Hi,
You can only create credit notes to Invoices or Bills if these aren't marked as paid on Xero, or by creating them as new items from contacts or using upload via Hubdoc.
I think it would be beneficial to allow the creation of credit notes from bills or invoices that are already paid. Very often, there is a requirement for a credit note to be created when the bill/invoice is already paid. Adding the feature to allow creating credit notes based on the information already recorded on paid bills/invoices would save a lot of time in dealing with creating…
114 votesThanks for everyone’s feedback and detail on how important this feature is for your businesses.
To provide a little more clarity here, it’s currently possible to create a Credit note within an individual awaiting payment invoice or bill. This’ll copy the contents of the invoice/bill into a Draft Credit note where you can edit if needed. To save many users time, once approved the credit is auto applied to the related invoice or bill, but you can remove this if not applicable.
We appreciate this feature is not available for a Paid Invoice or Bill and we understand the importance of this for some organisations.
To help our product teams get a better view of the interest for the feature in Bills and Invoices it would help to track these through separate ideas - I’ll change the title of this idea to reflect Bills and we have an existing idea…

Account Transactions - Payments to Include Invoice Number
When running Payment Reports such as Bank Account Transactions or Accounts Receivable reports when you select the Column option of 'Invoice Number' the report includes Invoice Number in the report headings but does not actual provide the Invoice Number for each transaction. We would expect the reports to be able to show the Invoice Number field.
4 votesHi all, this depends on the type of transaction that you're viewing in the Account Transactions report.
Payment transactions don't have an 'Invoice Number' field in themselves, instead they are associated to an invoice. If you have not entered a separate reference the invoice number it's associated too will show in the Reference column of the report.

Invoice - Discounts more than 2 d.p
This column is useful but could be improved.
As already noted in another existing idea, it would be good if there was a way to indicate whether the discount is per-item or for the line. As it stands, if there is a count, then to emulate a dollar discount on each item, we have to manually calculate the total discount for the line (number * $ discount) to enter the appropriate line value.
The percentage discount option is good also (as it avoids the above problem with specifying an absolute amount). However, it has a different problem in that the…

Sales Invoice | List view - Filter by Contact Group
Ability to filter draft invoices by Contact Groups.
We have a large number of customers who are moving toward shared accounting services (ie: centralised payment of our invoices). It would be great to be able to filter draft invoices by the Contact Group, or at the very least be able to see the contact group with the customer name on the draft invoice screen15 votes -
Invoices: Include quote number on invoices
It would be helpful if the quote number was automatically picked up and featured onto the converted invoice.

New Invoicing: Choose default calculation type for the discount column
The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).
108 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.
With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

Quotes - Autosave
Hi
Would love to see the autosave available for Quotes. Often my clients are distracted whilst creating Quotes and when they've navigated to another section (rather than opening a new Xero tab), the Quote disappears!
For one of my clients, his quoting is very detailed and this process takes valuable time which he'd rather not have to repeat if the Quote is no longer there.
Invoices are autosaved of course, once a Contact is entered, so I would assume that the same principle could easily be applied to Quotes....
Thanks!45 votesHi team, while we understand the desire for auto-save in quotes here, we want to be open that we don't have plans for changing the current save behaviour for quotes for the time being. While seemingly simple there is a fine balance in creating a save experience that'll suit majority of users. As some may have seen with new invoicing that has auto-save implemented, we've received wide ranging response for this feature, and there is more work needed to fine tune.
To confirm the current experience, when creating quotes in Xero you'll want to select the Save button before navigating elsewhere in your org, or leaving the page to ensure the contents of your quote is saved.
If there are any intentions of changing how save works in quotes, we will surely let you know on the idea here. Thanks

Invoicing | Contact Group - Add attachments when sending invoices
Provide functionality in Xero to add attachments to a group invoice.
Annually when we issue membership
subscriptions there are a number of attachments that need to be included with the invoice, this is currently a manual process. Adding the sane attachments to over 80 invoices is time consuming and tedious.Given Xero has this functionality already, it should be expanded to include the functionality of adding attachments when creating an invoice o a contact group.
9 votesAppreciate your feedback here, everyone. While we've recently released contact group invoicing with new invoicing, the ability to attach and send an attachment has not changed for the time being.
Contact Group invoicing will only create draft invoices for the contacts within that group, so you'll need to attach any documents to the individual invoices that are created and select to include these with the invoice when sending.
We'll continue to review this idea as a future enhancement, and I'll let you know if there are any changes planned, here.
