New invoicing/quotes - Allow figures with commas in price and amount fields
The new invoicing/quotes is a terrible downgrade for the price fields. It is incredibly strict with regard to numbers that can be pasted. Generally for prices, we are copy and pasting from a spreadsheet or another database. These will commonly have a comma for thousands and a dollar sign. The new quotes/invoices requires these to be stripped out and numbers entered strictly like this > 1111.00. It's a major annoyance and time waster.
68 votesHi everyone, thanks for contributing and feeding back on this idea. We appreciate the needs in being able to quickly enter data into your invoices and are continuing to build on new invoicing experience.
With a recent update we've released what you're asking here, and you can now copy and paste numbers that include commas (,), and currency symbols such as $ or £.

Quote Register
Quote Register. Good to have the ability to progressively bill a quote.
Either through the sales screen or a report to see the progress of a quote that has been invoiced as most clients bill a deposit and then a final bill once job completed.
It would be good doe say a window like the invoicing screen to be able to add quote amount and be able top compare that to an invoiced amount so you know the status or every quote.
8 votesHi all, we've released updates to the Receivable Summary and Detail so you can now include Quotes as a Source in these reports.
You'll also find that our team have created two quick view options on the left side panel where you can switch to view all quotes , or just outstanding quotes easily all together.
With these additions, you'll be able to get in and add filters to create the view you're after. Once set up Save as to make it nice and handy. 🙂

Quotes | Apply contact defaults
Hi.
Prior to the recent update to quotes, the default sales settings inputted onto a contact would carry across to the product rows on the quotes.
i.e you could set the default department and category for a customer which would auto-populate when you entered a product / tabbed across the product line whilst inputting the information.
Do you think this functionality could be restored? The ability to tab across has actually been removed too, could this be re-added to? Or if there's an alternative key to press that would work too.
Purpose: to save sales people time when inputting large…
7 votesHi everyone, sorry we've not updated this idea sooner. With feedback and smaller iterations to the new experience for Quotes our team have made a change so that contact defaults saved within a contacts record will flow though to a new Quote once the Contact has been selected.
Once you select a contact within your Quote you should see a small pop up at the bottom of the screen to indicate that these have been applied - Like the example I've attached

Online Quotes: Show trading name instead of legal name
Option to show trading in name in online quotes rather than legal name.
Purpose: To be able to show a consistent name when the user sends online quotes and PDF quotes. As the PDF quote shows the trading name.
7 votesHi team, reviewing your idea here - his is actually possible with the use of DOCX using an advanced invoice template.
You can download the template and enter the organisations name in static text. When applied you'll see this show on both the online Quote and PDF of the Quote.
Give it a go and send to yourself if you'd like to see how it looks first.🙂

Quotes - Create new item without navigating away from Quotes page
It would be great if you could add a "New Item" when you first create a transaction. At the moment, you have to save and close the transaction, go back to it and "edit" then you can see +New Item at the top of the Item column. It would be a great improvement to workflow if you could do this straight away and if anyone like me has new items each week it would save some time. Thanks.
3 votesHi team, please to share that this is now live! You'll find when entering quotes in Xero you can now '+Create new item' all within the quotes screen. 😊
Thanks for sharing your feedback on this, with us here.

Quotes - Ability to change the default 'Send me a copy' when emailing quote
On the newly rolled out quote form, have the ability to change the default 'Send me a copy' when emailing the quote.
Why would I want to send myself a copy when I have all my quotes available to me directly through Xero?!3 votesHi all
The 'send me a copy' field remembers the last setting used. So, if you untick this for one, it should default to unticked for the next one and following ✅

Quote to be reflecting on the customer facing side as "Accepted" once it has been
Once a quote has been accepted by the client it would be great if that acceptance was reflected on the customer facing side of the quote. This would allow them to click on the original link sent to them to confirm that their quote is now reflected as "accepted" so for clients who manage multiple quotes and may have to refer back from time to time they are easily able to do so and have a record on their end that their booking (in our case) is confirmed.
2 votesHi Caitlin, with the online quote link these are updated in real time. So if you send a customer a quote and it is accepted on their end this'll show on the online quote straight away.
Similarly if the quote is marked as accepted from within Xero, it does take a refresh if the online quote if it's open at the time however it'll also show as accepted on the quote. 😊

Quotes - Make preset quotes for common products
Would be useful to be able to make quote templates for our common products to save time quoting, so you can just add in the customer and send.
2 votesHi Tiana, while there isn't a specific feature for this, you could create a draft quote for a 'Dummy' customer. When needed you could then Copy to a new quote which will copy the contents to a new Draft Quote.

Invoice/Quote - Ability to not display the description
To save on screen real estate, after selecting the item, don't display the description in the "Item" column. This small column wraps the description and takes up much needed screen space, when it is not necessary as the description repeats itself in the very next column "Description"
Our quotes and invoices can have 40-100 lines of product on them, and after zooming out as much as possible ( but still be able to read the screen), only 14 lines can fit on the screen while in edit mode. This is because in the "Item" column, the item code is displayed,…
2 votesHi Terry and Susie, it's now possible to show/hide columns in new invoicing and quotes.
Within the quote or new invoicing screen you'll see an option above the grid where you can choose which columns of your invoice or quote are shown on the screen.

Quotes - A more professional look with a cover page
Our Quotes must be very professional this first contact.
I think must be
ready changable templates cover page according to customers we have to make change
and at our offer we have to add goods pictures
when we send our Quotes that send cover page + Quotes That make us more professional1 voteHey Bilal, thanks for sharing your idea!
It's already possible in Xero to customise the look and feel of your quotes, as well as invoices, credit notes, customer statements and purchase orders 😀
You'll need to use an 'Advanced invoice template' for more in-depth customisation, such as including terms or a cover page.

Quotes - View all outstanding/back order items for all of a customer's quotes
When entering a quotation, is it at all possible to do a selection per customer so that we can print out a "back order"list from the quotation. This will enable us to see the customer's name and description for all outstanding orders. Then we dont have to go into each and every quote seperately?
1 voteHi Elize, returning to your idea here I wanted to highlight the Receivable Invoice Detail report where we have common formats for All quotes detail or Outstanding quotes detail. You could run these report with a filter for the specific contact you're wanting to see this information for. 😊

Automatically mark quotes as invoiced
The ability to automatically mark accepted quotes as invoiced when the invoice has been raised. this would help highlight outstanding accepted quotes and therefore outstanding workload.
1 voteThis may depend on your current workflow, Steve. You do currently get an option when creating an invoice from an existing quote to 'mark as invoiced' - see more on this here

Quotes: Save and continue
Hi Team,
When entering one quote that runs into multiple pages I always save the work intermittently. Just incase there is a computer software or power issue. However the two options available are Save & close and Save and Add another. Could you please add the feature to Save and Continue? It will be a great help. Also Please reconsider reintroducing the Shortcuts (Using the tab) rather than the mouse click option for every item. It is not an efficient way.
1 voteHey Shirani 👋 when creating a quote in Xero, you have three options for saving.
As you’ve already found, you can ‘save and continue’ or ‘save and add another’ but both of these will navigate away from your page.
Instead, you can click the standalone save button. This will save your progress without navigating away from the page 😊
