Invoicing | History - Show detail of action made

With the currect feature History and note report we are able to see which invoice for example has been edited - change name of invoice - reconciled etc. However we would like to have a more detailed view, for example if an invoice is booked in USD and someone will change the currency in EUR we are not able to see this change , we can see only that the invoice is edited by X person but we are not able to see the change. How can we have this feature?

Hi everyone, we wanted to provide an update of a recent change we have made where you'll now see the email address of the primary email entered in the To field is recorded in history each time an invoice is sent. You can read more about this change in my update here.

As mentioned on that thread there are a couple of unique scenarios we are tidying up and I'll return to confirm once that is complete.

    Also - it is useless to show "Voided" in Detail in the History & Notes report if it doesn't say what has been voided - give us the contact name and the amount at least like for Approved records. Thanks

    Invoice History should show a clear relationship trail between invoices and credit notes.

    History should show:

    Credit note number when a credit note has been applied/created against an invoice
    - Copied From: Invoice number
    - Copied To: Invoice number
    - invoice numbers and credit note numbers in History should be clickable so users can open related documents directly.

    Classical Invoicing already showed this relationship trail between documents.

    Credit control- the history data needs more detail
    Sending an invoice and sending a reminder - have the same written detail in history

    Can you differentiate when a reminder has been sent at least !

    Can you also differentiate if the reminder is Overdue, On stop or Letter before Action as per the different email body templates available to send

    Something like a version history view to show more detail would be very useful. As an example initial invoice was saved at a certain price then edited and sent to customer but I can't see what detail was against the originally created invoice to work out why there is a difference.

    We particularly need the email address to which the invoice was sent to be reflected in the Detail column or an additional column under History and notes on the invoice drop down.

    Ability to see, line by line, changes made in Invoices and Quotes

    That way people can see what items have been changed in price or what items have been added or removed and not just the total cost

    We have an employee that is making what I would call silly mistakes. I'd like to run a report showing all the changes I've had to make due to their silly mistakes.

    I'm getting concerned as the deadline is approaching with the change to new invoicing. We still aren't able to see where an invoice or quote is copied to or from when the invoice is created. This is imperative for us to be able to see the previous order that it was copied from.

    When I am resending an invoice to a customer it is showing in the notes that the invoice was edited and not that I have sent them an invoice. Can you please check as we rely heavily on this for our audit trail.

    We aren't able to see exactly what happened to the line item when an edit is made. In classic invoicing we can see exactly what changed in the description.

    Also, it isn't linking the invoice or quote that it is copied from or to in new invoicing. This links orders together for us and is a necessity

    Can we drill down into the history lines by date to see the actual changes/edits or whatever was done for individual invoices? This would enable a clearer picture for future scrutiny.
    My client couldn't work out what had been done and neither could I . All the history said was 'edited' by an employee.

    I don't like the new invoice history update - I send emails to chase debt using the original invoice and resending it. So I open an unpaid invoice - click email, select an email template I've created to chase debt, send - the HISTORY of the invoice now show I have 'EDITED' the invoice - which is wrong as I've not changed the invoice at all... I want this to show I have sent an email and to whom for credit control which is vital tracking for when we pass the invoice to solicitors for debt collection. 'Editing' makes it seem like I've changed the invoice in some way.

    Provide detailed changes to invoices and bills after approval such as date changes, client / vendor, invoice value, line item value, tax values, description.

    100%! It's good to know that something has been changed/edited and by who but it would be so much more helpful to know exactly what has been changed. So far it seems that the only changes you can see are the total invoice amount and the contact name.

    The ability to see what has been previously changed on a bill, transaction, etc. Sometimes clients change things without telling you, and it would be nice to know what they changed.

    The History and Notes feature is great but doesn't provide enough detail for this.
