A few of our customers have separate email addresses for Invoices and Statements. It would be good to be able to set a default email address in the contacts for the different document types. This would then enable me to batch send statements rather that sift through and delete non-relevant email addresses.

So in other words you’re not interested in providing a very common sense feature that would be far easier to implement than some of you’re new “ bells and whistles AI “ features that really don’t provide any extra functionality to the service. Given the dramatic price increases in the past couple of years I can’t see how adding a field for accounts payable invoices is so difficult. Producing and sending invoices is probably the most important function of any accounting software. From my research Xero is about the only online accounting software not offering this very simple feature.

Xero could have 10,000 votes for a requested change and it still wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

Their "roadmap" must be hilarious to look at. Actually, it probably just says "increase prices" .....

They're too busy doing really important things, like renaming 'Files' as 'Documents,' something we've all been asking them to do for ages... er... haven't we?

Emailing bills to one contact and statements to another should be a basic function of an accounting system. It appears this has been requested for many years.

SENDING STATEMENTS - Xero needs to get this process up with the times. Huge issue with productivity when it comes to issuing statements to customers. As many businesses use a specific email address for INVOICES ONLY, it is a problem that when you send statements, you have to change the email to another email for statements only. Yes, I can already hear you saying that wait - Xero allows you to have multiple emails. Well if sending invoices, then you would have to delete the statement-only email each time, or when sending statements, you would have to delete the invoices-only email. Either way - a poor way to manage what documents are outgoing on specific purpose email addresses. Given the modern movement to invoice automation, it seems that Xero has not kept up with the ability to have a default email for invoices-only and a default email for statements-only. I spend considerable time, changing emails addresses to make sure they aren't going to invoice only emails. If I can add a second email into the Customer masterfile for Statements, and that is the default email used when sending statements - I would save considerable time.

Have separate email addresses for the sales/purchase defaults of a contact.

Some of our customers our also suppliers so it would be convenient to be able to store two separate email addresses - one for sending out invoices to the contact as a customer, and one to send remittances to the contact as a supplier.

Do we have any movement on this as this Xero's latest update on this thread was 12 months ago?

I would like to see an accounts payable invoice address added to the contact card. I primarily use repeating invoices once a month, my customers use management companies to process their expenses to contractors like me. Under the current system I have to enter the email address for accounts payable in the first email address on the contact card instead of the actual site contact for the customer.

We have been asking for this for years. You have been ignoring this request for years.

Suggesting manual addition and deletion of addresses is not helpful. you might as well suggest we do our accounting by spreadsheet.

Are you giving ANY consideration to this functionality? If not - why not? If yes - then when will you deliver it?

Well raised Fiona! I definitely agree with you.

When we’re sending invoices or quotes, the companies we work for usually have a dedicated email address for invoices (e.g., accounts@company.com), while quotes go to a more specific contact (e.g., steve.smith@company.com).

We also sometimes need to send POs to a dedicated procurement email address. It would be useful to have chasing emails set up for both quotes and invoices, so we can accelerate late payments.

Subscription for the vital accounting software is expensive enough without add-ons.

All we want/need is you to implement the suggestions that your competitors eg QuickBooks already have in place!!! It's not rocket-science surely !!!

Agree with both posts below - Xero is not listening to it's core user base and just to rub it in, they've sent another email about the improvements they've made that no-one asked for and another about using 3rd party apps to save time but all have a cost on top of the Xero subscription which a lot of SME's can't afford or justify.

Sadly, Xero have lost track of their target market. They are integrating with AI financial reporting tools (big corp market) but lack basic functionality that the small to medium market needs. We are an SME with only 5 employees and I am having to brief my admin clerk on workarounds to enable basic functions - like emailing bills to one contact and statements - to another. Any company where more than one person uses xero, and with more than 15-20 customer accounts, would find Xero unworkable for invoicing and statements.

Pretty much anything is POSSIBLE. However, it seems that Xero prefer to have software that looks pretty, and appears to be advanced, but that does not actually have the functions that businesses need in order to be efficient. AI is not currently an essential part of the day-to-day accounting process. Xero appears to prefer to attract new customers, rather than keeping existing customers happy. Multiple email addresses were actually being worked on about five years ago, but the project now seems to have been quietly shelved.

I do not understand why Xero are so unwilling to address any of the multiple issues with email, when it is such a core part of most business models.

I want to know if the XERO program can be upgraded to more than one delivery addresse for customers?
We need this in a bookkeeping program but after 6 years + on Xero you are still unable to "fix" the program.
I would just like to know if this is this a matter of you are unable to change the program?

This is becoming a real issue for us now, more and more customers are wanting invoices sent to a different email address than their statements, its not practical to take out the email addresses not required when sending EOM statements, we have 100s, I wouldn't even be able to remember who wants what.

Xero wonders why they are loosing customers. Stop chasing AI, and start listening to what your customers are asking for. Some basic requests are not fulfilled, but we get a useless Jax, and a new look that wasn't needed. It's certainly in my mind to change to a different platform.
