  1. Before posting a payroll, when you run the "Payroll Activity" report, include the leave entitlements about to be posted not just the pay items.

    So when you download a report to do a final check before posting payroll you can check ALL payroll activity not just half of it !

    Hi Kristen, appreciate you sharing in product ideas here. While this isn't something we have plans for I wanted to confirm you can currently check leave accruals by clicking on the employee's payslip prior to posting the pay run.

    Once the pay run's posted, before it's filed, you could run the report and find any issues, and revert it back to draft to make changes if necessary.

  2. Xero Expenses - Can this screen be displayed, like Bills to Pay and with a freeze frame set at the top of the information, so 'New expense' stays put when scrolling?

  3. My team member complained about the privacy of Xero me Overview page.

    The page lists the payslip information on default. It is considered a risk of privacy exposure when people open Xero Me in the office area.

    Maybe it would be good to add a funtion in Xero Me overview page to Hide the payslip information.

  5. Hiding Voided Pay Run from showing on the Main Pay Run Page.

    It will be great to have a functionality that allows you hide payruns that have been voided from showing on the main payrun list.

    When approved payruns cannot be edited, the only option is to void and create a new one. If a functionality can allow editing approved pay run, then there will be no need. But now, we need to have a function to hide the voided payruns.

    A screenshot has been attached for clearer understanding for voting and implementation.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and sharing how this idea could benefit your business. However, as you may have received recently communication of - We’re making some changes to Global Pay Run to help you manage your payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run. 

    This means that we don't have any plans for further development of our Global Pay Run product, and will move any ideas related to this on the site to Not planned.

  6. It would be nice if expenses could learn and assign a specific account automatically to expenses from a regular supplier.

    The process could be:
    1) I take a photo of a receipt
    2) The analyse feature reads the receipt and fills in the date, supplier and amount

    THE NEW BIT:
    3) Expeses realises this is a supplier I've analysed a receipt from recently and codes it to the account I coded it to last time

  7. I would like long service leave to accrue and update the balance each payrun like annual leave does, i.e. leave available to take in advance. rather than waiting for the accrued LSL to be applied on the anniversary date.

  8. We have requested Downloadable P11's to be made available so we can correct a mistake a previous Xero payroll provider made.
    This is not available in Xero which is causing considerable inconvenience and a lot more manual work.

    This would be a really good idea if this was brought into the payroll package.

  9. I want a negative Reimbursement line item in the Employee Template.
    This can be done in a Payrun, but cannot be done in the Employee Template screen.
    With STP 2 we have some payroll reimbursement entries that need to be processed every pay. They need to be positive and negative entries so that the Wages Payable account does not go out of balance. This can be done in a payrun - why not in the Employee Pay Template. Please see the screenshots.

    Hi team, while it isn't possible to make a negative reimbursement line in an employees pay template, you could set up a deduction pay item.

    A deduction item would function the same as the negative reimbursement line, as well as being able to be added into the employees pay template.

    It'd be good to understand more if there's a reason using a deduction wouldn't be adequate here.

  10. I cannot be the only Global Platform user that has now been waiting for basic payroll feature improvements in the Global version for over 4 years now.

    Critical features that are not available include:
    - Ability to add logo and YTD balances on pay slips
    - Template payroll emails when sending pay slips (have to type it every time now)
    - Timesheet option that syncs / built into payroll. Or at minimum an import option.
    - Holiday / sick pay / leave tracking
    - Basic employee portal for them to view pay slips and leave balances, and basic core info…

    Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding Global Pay Run.

    To be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making changes within the Pay Run feature in the foreseeable future.

    You may like to look into connected apps for a payroll solution that could suit your business.

    We'll be sure to let you know if there's any change around this.

  11. Could we please have an option to add a second emergency contact for our employees.

    Currently when creating a new employee we only have one space for an emergency contact. However, in the case of an actual emergency only one contact may not be enough, a second contact gives a much higher chance of being able to get in contact with someone.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here.

    We appreciate being able to easily add a secondary emergency contact to the details tab of the employee record is important to you. 

    Atm, you could use the notes tab to add a new note to the employee record and include the details in here.

    To be open we don't have direct plans for making this change within the details tab any time in the near future. 

  12. Pension filings - Submission errors

    When an employee's employment is terminated and subsequently corrected due to the employee no longer intending to leave - pension contributions are no longer included in the pension filings even though deductions are made on the payslips. This results in an underpayment to the pension provider.

    There is a work around suggested by the support team whereby a new employee profile is required - making the employee a leaver and then a joiner.

  13. Auto super - set up payments in advance and allow for a description
    When I process payrolls in advance it would be good to have the option to process the super on an advance date as well. Currently we can only process super immediately which is quite restrictive.
    Also can we have an option to add a description to each payment so we can easily identify which payroll its for.

  14. Employee migration between accounts.

    With changing business structures but staff/employees not changing, there should be an option to either migrate all data to a new account or at least export current data to import into the new account.

  15. Since Xero can't make super payment via credit card, we would like to suggest if Xero can corporate with third party payment that accept credit card payment for super. Similar to payroll, generate a file from Xero and upload to payment platform to make payment.

  16. Under the field "start date" have Xero automatically calculate their total length of service to the current date, and under the field "end date" once an employee is terminated, calculate their total overall service.
    This would save the user from needing to manually calculating the service for notice periods, redundancy payments and long service leave in some states.

  17. Could we have the option to update wages/salary on a specific date?
    It's something that QBO offers and would be very helpful in doing pay rises for January while also doing the Dec wages in advance due to office closures.
    This year my Dec pay slips went out with the wrong annual amount.
    It would also be helpful for mid pay period changes.

  19. At present there is no capacity for employees to enter overtime hours and have it approved in Xero Me.
    If additional hours are entered via Xero Me then the staff member needs to enter in all the hours worked in that fortnight, otherwise the "standard hours" in their pay template disappears in the payroll run and all you see if the overtime hours.

  20. I would like to move our payroll over to Xero, having tried in Apr 2023, I was hoping that changes would have been made in order for me to move our system over. After over 2 hours on the phone today, we eventually got there, but to my horror was told that I would have to log into each employee on the pay run and enter all regular and extra payments. Could you not have a multi person payment entry spreadsheet. Example attached. Once this is completed and saved, it then allows me to see each individuals pay totals in…
