Payroll Audit Trail - Posting of email payslips
Can we have an audit trail, even if similar to invoices/bills, where we can see the who, date & time of the payslips being sent out for a pay calendar?
This helps to know the payslips have been sent out and that there is an audit trail for this.

.. I strongly support the idea to have a function which keeps track of the payslips sent. In the meantime how about the idea to set up the function simular to the one in invoicing: one can choose to send a copy to a nominated other address, e.g. myself... THANK YOU, XERO!

Hi team, I would certainly very appreciate a function for keeping track of email payslips sent. The same set up/ function like in sending invoices : one can choose to "send a copy to myself/e.g. a nomintated other email address", could already be most helpful and may be the easiest to set up, till you have another options. An employee is disputing if I sent them a payslip via email and there is no trail in Xero to show what happened.
It would be useful if there was a history available in the employee record of all emails sent even it was just a line with date and what it was. -

Being able to schedule the payslips to be emailed would also be very useful.
If you prepare a payroll earlier than the paydate you then have to remember to come back to the Xero file in order to email the payslips. And as there is currently no audit report it's not possible to determine if you have in fact already sent them!

I was going to raise this myself. As it has not been acted on yet, perhaps it is not understood, So I will endeavour to explain it from a different direction.
Payslips currently have Draft and Posted flags, to indicate their progress.
Please can you add a Sent flag when the payslip has been emailed, so the progress flags are Draft, then Posted, then Sent.
This would allow us to check that payslips have been sent out and prevent client frustration should the task be overlooked.
In terms of best practice, I would also love notes to be added below the payslip to confirm, when and who completed each stage, but I think the first step of creating the "Sent" stage is the most important improvement.

It would be good if you could go into 'Pay Employees' and next to the STP - Filed or not filed it would be good to have 'Payslips Emailed'. I have no way of checking / double checking if I have sent them.

The sending of payslips (within 1 day of recorded payment date) is a legal requirement here in Australia. I would like a report that lists any payslips that have not been sent, so I can quickly check if my clients have done what they are supposed to have, and rectify it if not.
