  2. We have hourly paid employees who get paid 12 x per year with either a 4 week or 5 week pay period. At present, Xero doesn't give this option to change a pay period within payroll calendars. There are only set pay periods.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on flexible pay periods. We appreciate you explaining how important this is, especially for those running 4-4-5 week structures.

The product team have reviewed this idea and, after looking into what would be involved, have confirmed it isn’t something we’re planning to add to Payroll in the foreseeable future.

We’ve updated the status to Not in pipeline. While we’re not moving ahead with this work, your feedback is still really valuable and helps us understand the different ways you’re running payroll in your business.

  3. Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.

  4. It would be great for those Approving Leave, to also be able to View the Leave Calendar that is currently available to Payroll Admin users in the Overview Window. Those approving leave need to know who else is on leave for the requested period, which we currently replicate in our Email Calendars, however it would be great to take this step out, it will reduce time and eliminate errors.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback on the needs for leave approvers to view upcoming leave for their team. We appreciate you highlighting how important it is to have better oversight of team leave without needing full payroll access.

Our product team is looking into how this idea may fit into a wider review of team management in AU payroll. This is in the early stages of review so not currently on the team’s roadmap, but we'll keep you updated as we learn more.

  5. with the new functionality of adding start end times and notes, we are not able to print or download this data in any reporting. the only way we can SEE this info is in the individual timesheet by person.
If you can update the report to include all information that would be useful as the current process is only half done.

  6. Please fix the Schedule 5 PAYG calculation to include YTD commissions and bonuses as well as ordinary earnings. This is causing issues with tax not calculating automatically because the employee's only form of income is from commissions (real estate industry) and they are forced to report it under commissions for STP Phase 2 yet the calculation things they have $0 YTD earnings.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on Schedule 5 calculations for commissions and bonuses. We appreciate you explaining how important this is for commission-based industries where commission is often the primary income.

Currently Xero payroll requires regular earnings to calculate Schedule 5 tax. We understand the current setup requires manual workarounds when employees have commission-only income.

Our product team has reviewed this idea and moved it to Accepted so it can be formally considered in future planning cycles. We'll keep you updated as things progress.

  7. When generating the Payroll Activity Summary report, it would be good if I could select certain employees.

Currently you can only choose an individual or all employees.

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important selecting multiple employees is for you when running this report.

Our product team has reviewed this and agree this is something they'd like to develop, though it isn't currently on the roadmap. We’ll update the status to Accepted, so that it’s formally put up for consideration.

In the meantime, Kelly mentioned the Payroll Activity Summary report lets you run reports by employee groups, though we understand this doesn't fully meet your needs with the two tracking category limit.

We'll keep tracking interest here and update you if there's progress.

  8. As an approver of timesheets i see there are couple of issues which can make the process water tight.

1.Ability to see approved time sheets (siimilar to leaves). Currently once the timesheet is approved for an individual there is no way to check what has been approved

2.Ability to run a report for all employees that have been approved or alternatively ability to allow access to certain reports to the approver.

Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.

Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

  9. The Australian version of Xero offers a timesheet summary report. Can we have this in the UK? I need to send a manager details of his employees uploaded timesheet data and there is no report.

Thanks for sharing your feedback on having timesheet reporting in UK payroll.

Our product team are actively working on improving UK reporting in general, but timesheet reports aren’t currently on the roadmap.

We'll update this to Not in Pipeline, however we'll update you here if anything changes in this space.

  10. Tracking Categories do not show in Xero Me mobile app when I approve my employees' timesheets. This means I cannot check that they have allocated their time to the correct Tracking Categories, so I have to approve timesheets on the computer making Xero Me useless for Timesheet approvals. Please show Tracking Categories in the Xero Me timesheets app.

Hi everyone 🤚 thanks for the idea and support. I thought I'd pop in here to share that it can be possible to have your tracking options show in the Xero Me mobile app when approving timesheets. However to do this you'll need to choose the Total hours worked timesheet setting (instead of the Start & end hours option). Appreciate that this may not be suitable in all our customer's workflows, so we'll continue to monitor interest in this idea.

  11. For some clients we use Xero's Postponement and Eligibility letters. This has proved very useful but currently the letters cannot be customised.

We have a client for example who pays a higher employer contribution percentage than the standard. The letters however, only show the standard percentage's despite the settings being different to the standard. We also have a client who has asked for their company logo to be added to the letters.

After speaking with Xero Central I was informed that the letters currently cannot be customised and don't pull from the pension settings.

If this could be looked into…

Thanks for sharing your idea on customising pension letters in Xero.

As you're aware, it's not currently possible to amend the details on the pension letters. These letters state the minimum requirements outlined by the Pensions Regulator.

We need to be upfront that customising these letters is not on the foreseeable roadmap, so we'll update this to Not in Pipeline. If you want to edit the details or wording of the letters, this would need to be done outside of Xero.

  12. Give the ability to set a percentage (i.e) 50% on an employees bank account when paying across more than one bank.
I have an employee who always splits her pay equally between 2 bank accounts, however she is a commission paid rep and therefore each pay amount is different. So the current function is no use to me- which allows a $$ amount to be set only. This is fine for set salaried employees but not for commissioned sales reps.
MYOB had a function where you could set a percentage on how much went to bank account 1, and therefore…

Thank you for suggesting the ability to split wage payments by percentage across multiple bank accounts. We’ve noticed this idea has been steadily gaining momentum since it was first raised.

To help it gain even more traction, feel free to share the link with your colleagues so they can add their votes. We’d also love to hear in the comments how this specific feature would improve your Xero experience.

  13. On payslips and in reports, I think there should be dates next to the following items so it isn't confusing for the employee and when checking reports. It makes it more transparent too.

    Time In Lieu
    Annual Leave
    Sick Leave
    Compassionate Leave
    RDO

Hi everyone, we've been following your comments and recognise that having a streamlined way to get timesheets from a spreadsheet into Xero Payroll would be a huge time saver.

One option is to explore some of the connected time-tracking apps in the Xero App Store. While we know this isn't a perfect substitute for a direct import feature, it may help bridge the gap in the meantime.

The good news is that we see the value this feature would provide and we want to explore it further. We'll change the status of this idea to Accepted.

We'll let you know if there is any movement on this.

  16. It's great that Xero Me now allow employees to add their own start, finish and break times but all hours appear as ordinary hours. Xero should have a warning prompt flagging this as it's easy to miss overtime hours and pay them as the default ordinary hours, which then needs an unscheduled pay run to correct the underpayments (assuming you work this out for yourself!). Public holidays should also be flagged so we can adjust pay rates (if needed) for these days.

It would be great if payroll transactions offered an automatic reconciliation in the same way that a batch payment of bills gives an auto option.

  18. Allow a timesheet to be created for the week ahead of the pay week. This allows employees with standard hours to enter their hours in advance. It also allows managers to run payrolls in advance if circumstances need it

  20. The current option available for updating the time in lieu of XERO is to previously inform the fixed number of hours that will be added to the leave balance in the leave register. However, the number of hours varies each week, so I cannot predict in advance how many hours each employee will work.

My suggestion includes an automatic update from the time in lieu of using a timesheet. Thus reducing the probability of errors by entering the balance manually.
