  1. Please add a column or filter to the XPM Job Manager screen for client Groups. There is currently no column/filter for client group in the job manager screen in XPM - which means if you want to see all the jobs for a client group - e.g. Alf Barbagallo - have to search each entity individually. Also means cannot easily do a bulk update for all jobs in a client group.

    ✨ Appreciate you raising this, Julie! We understand how adding a client group filter to Job Manager would speed things up and cut the back-and-forth. In the meantime, a quick workaround: press Ctrl + F (Cmd + F on Mac) and type the client’s name into your browser’s search box to jump to matching entries on the page. Your idea is now in gaining support, so it’s open for votes and comments. If you can, please share it with colleagues who’d benefit—more support helps us gauge impact and prioritise what matters most.

  2. Hi,

    It would be nice if the software could search by a entity's registered business names or previously know entity names and it bring up the current company file.

    We are able to add previous names or business names to the custom fields under a company's profile, but unless you know all the names by memory it can be hard to match up clients when you receive correspondence address to the business name and no ABN is mentioned.

    Hi community, thanks for sharing your interest through this idea. We recently announced the Xero Partner Hub at Xerocon. It encompasses many improvements for our partners to be able to move more efficiently and serve clients. One of the changes that accommodates part of the idea here is that you'll be able to search the Client list by a clients organisation name, or legal/trading name as mentioned on this related idea.

    We appreciate there may be some practices using custom fields for this data and we want to be open that custom fields will not be searchable from the Client list. We have another idea for searching custom fields that you can join and follow for updates. You can find out more about Xero Partner Hub from our website.

  3. It would be great to be able to set default print settings for the practice, especially by tax return type. Recently Xero changed the default and now I have an extra box to untick each time. Pain in the backside. Thanks

  4. Within XPM there are fields for individuals in the Tax section of Client with UTR and National Insurance number. It is not possible to import and upload to them, this would be useful as they then link to Xero Tax when filing a tax return. Currently we have them stored in a custom field as these weren't available originally. It would be good to be able to import all of our custom fields to the system's UTR and NINO fields.

It’s clear that the ability to import Unique Taxpayer References (UTR) and National Insurance Numbers (NINO) is important to you, and we hear the pain points about the extra manual work involved in not having this feature. A possible workaround is using a custom field for now, which can help keep this data within Xero Practice Manager. ⭐I wanted to provide an update on this. At Xerocon, we announced new developments for Xero Practice Manager and Xero HQ that are designed to improve efficiency and help you manage clients more effectively.   5. In XPM when adding time through the clock, you can add the client, the job and the task that you are working on as well as add notes and mark as billable.

    It would be really useful to have a drop down for the job state as well so that this could be updated once you have worked on the job. The ability for quick job state update already exists on the Jobs Overview table so would be good to have here as well from a workflow point of view

  7. When adding a staff member to a client Xero file with advisor access, previously I was able to notify the staff member. That wasn't an option which meant I needed to go and manually tell the team member that I've added them.

    I like being able to choose if I want to notify them or not because if it's something holding up workflow I want them to know so they can continue working but if I'm just adding them to the team they'll expect to have access so I won't want to notify them in that scenario.

  8. Prefill - when we prefill a return from the ATO it brings in lots of information but doesn't update the due date for lodgement. The date currently appears to prefill from client details.

    Can we please have Prefill bring in the ATO due date for the return?

    Hi Vicki, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see why this may be helpful for some users. Currently, you can import an 'Income tax lodgment status report' from ATO online services to bulk update the current tax returns due dates in the client details, but for now Xero does not pull this information from the ATO. We've moved this idea to gaining support and we'll monitor the idea for more support.

  9. AU TAX - Default EFT account type to CLIENT

    Under Cover > Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) > Account type there are 3 options - Manual, Client, and Agent.

    It would be helpful if there was a setting in Client Settings > Client Types to default the EFT Account type, so we don't have to manually change this on every return.

  10. We need a new report for suppliers that functions as a true detailed ledger with a running balance.

    The Problem: When we need to reconcile an account with a supplier, there is no single, clean report that shows a simple chronological history of all bills and payments. We can run a "Supplier Transaction Report," but it's often not in a simple, statement-style format that's easy to read or send to the supplier.

    We need the Accounts Payable equivalent of the "Detailed Ledger" statement that is also needed for customers.

    Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We can see why this would be helpful for some users. Currently, Xero offers the Supplier bill activity report and the contacts Activity statement. While this information is available on the account transaction report,it is not available in a Statement format. We've moved this idea to Gaining support so that other users who want this idea implemented can vote for it as well. You may share this idea with your colleagues to get more traction!

  11. Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.

    At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).

    It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.

    At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

    Hi Lucy, thanks for sharing this specific feedback about our AU Tax module. We know that small adjustments to default settings can often make a big difference in streamlining a workflow.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to change the default option to 'Yes' for transferring capital gains to the tax return on the Managed Fund Schedule. Your idea is now ready to gain support and feedback from other tax preparers in the community.

    Along with votes, others can now comment to share if this default setting would better match their own process and improve efficiency when preparing returns.

  13. Upon accepting a subscription transfer request, it would be great to have an option to "link to existing client record" or "create a new client record". There's currently no option for this and this creates double-up entries in Xero HQ which need to be manually removed, re-linked and archived.

  16. The Primary Contact in the 'Additional Contacts' section should appear above any other contacts. I believe this used to be the case before the recent update. It was much clearer and made much more sense to see who the first point of contact is when contacting clients.

    Thank you for your interest in having multicurrency available on Xero’s Ledger plans.

    We’ve carefully considered this idea as part of our ongoing product reviews. At this stage, enabling multicurrency for Ledger plans is not in our development pipeline, and there are no plans or timelines to introduce this feature for Ledger.

    We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review our product roadmap based on customer needs and market demand. If the status of this idea changes in the future, we’ll be sure to provide an update.

  18. Currently only administration level can import disbursements and such things. To give a staff member access would mean they also receive access to staff details and such things. Disbursements, especially bulk disbursements, is a task that is not and should not be done by upper management, to limiting access to them is problematic.

  19. Now that XPM includes the industry classification on the client record, it would be great to be able to generate a report using this field. This would enable us to extra data to easily see which partners have which industries they look after.

    We’ve reviewed the idea and it’s now been marked as Gaining Support. This is a useful request that could add more context to client performance and make the Insights tool more valuable for advisory work.
