UK Tax - Settings for MTD messages and dismiss for clients who don't use it
It would be good to have more control of the error messages, and ability to dismiss these for specific clients. This would reduce noise for clients that you do not do VAT for.

XPM - Client WIP view
When reviewing WIP for a client you can't see the title of each job without clicking in to it. Could we please make the job column wider so we can see what the job is without opening it.

We're working on modernising the client record user interface(UI) and your idea here is being worked into this change.
We'll first be making this available to our UK practices, with the aim of eventually expanding this to all regions. I'll be back to confirm as this starts to roll and give more detail of the change.

XPM - Ability to "Go to Xero" from XPM search
When XPM search finds a client, you can click the arrow > to the right of a result to view the client's name, basic contact details, enter time, etc. For clients that have a linked Xero file, it would be great to be able to click "Go to Xero" from here as well.

NZ Tax - Auto apply correct tax rate for Trust if over threshold
When preparing 2025 financial statements in Xero, will Xero be implementing a system to allow for varying tax rates for Trust's?
For example, 2024 Trustee tax rate at 33%, however the 2025 Trustee tax rate may be 39% or 33% depending on the Trustee Income, and if it is under $10,000.
It would be great if Xero were to implement a system to allow for this.Otherwise, a manual work around will be required, which could create human error.
I'm sure all tax practitioners across the country are hoping for an update from Xero.

XPM - Filter reports by tax returns lodged as Final.
The option to filter the reports by tax returns that have been lodged as Final in a certain tax year would be beneficial.
We could then cross check and archive clients as necessary.
There are so many fields to choose from in the Fields and Criteria, but this is not one of them.
It would save us from having to keep a manual list as some can get missed this way.5 votesHi Alison,

NZ Tax - Ability to import settlor information to IR6
When Settlor relationship exists for a client, this needs to flow through automatically to the IR6 in the same way that Beneficiary relationships do.

Xero Tax - Track time spent on a return
Can you automatically keep the start and end times when working on a tax return per user.

It'll be good to get a gauge of community interest for a Detailed Profit & Loss in the Statutory accounts for Micro Entities within Xero Tax(UK), through this idea.
This isn't something we have road mapped atm, but we'll share if there are any updates.

Workpapers | Transactions - Column for mileage
Allow a Column on your main page of transactions for mileage so you can add the mileage to the column for sales to be calculated
I am a private hire driver and this I believe will benefit taxis and private hire drivers or people who do a lot of driving as a business.
Can they not add another column on this page that we can add the mileage for each job that can then be calculated at the end of year as you do with what fairs come in or sales coming.
Again, this would benefit greatly for small businesses…

This isn't something that we have plans for right now, but we'll track the interest and share if there are any changes to update you on.

Practice Manager - Stop auto correct for daylight savings in Timer
To stop the autocorrection for daylight saving in the Timer. I know only happens twice a year, but is very frustrating trying to enter time when the Timer keeps adding (or removing) an hour from the time entered. For example - when enter 09.00 in the Start time, jumps to 10.00; then when enter 10.00 in End time, both the Start and End time jump to 11.00.

Practice Manager - Add a VAT Reconciliation report in the Reports section
Hi there, could Xero please add a VAT reconciliation report to the reports section where we can reconcile each VAT period's VAT payable/receivable to the VAT control account. This would make the VAT reviews and VAT reconciliations at year end so much easier and faster.

Xero Tax - Allow manual allocation of R&D expenditure for long accounting periods
When inputting R&D figures for a period of account longer than 12 months (i.e. where 2x corporation tax returns are needed), we are unable to put specific R&D expenditures in a specific corporation tax periods. This is an issue with overseas workers where the periods are pre and post 1 April 2024, and where expenditure is only eligible in one of the periods. As currently, the expenditure is pro-rated, this means that non-qualifying expenditure is being brought into one of the periods.

XPM - Client group filter members
Please add a column or filter to the XPM Job Manager screen for client Groups. There is currently no column/filter for client group in the job manager screen in XPM - which means if you want to see all the jobs for a client group - e.g. Alf Barbagallo - have to search each entity individually. Also means cannot easily do a bulk update for all jobs in a client group.

In the meantime, a quick workaround: press Ctrl + F (Cmd + F on Mac) and type the client’s name into your browser’s search box to jump to matching entries on the page. Xero Tax - What if function
It would be very useful if Xero Tax have a What-If function to test different tax outcomes before finalising a return.
2 votesHi YiLing thanks for sharing this idea. Currently Xero allows the ability to use draft returns and the "Estimate" tab for basic scenario testing. For complex scenarios, it is recommended to use ATO calculators and compare results manually. We will move this idea to Gaining support and monitor for more traction from users.

Practice Manager - Single Dashboard access all practice tools
It would be lovely if a practice could acces every required platform from the Xero dashboard. Including where one can keep an eye on the practices status and points.

XPM Clients tab
In the new Clients tab, to have the ability to customise where the details are showing in the Information tab.

New staff Experience - Ability to view staff certification in Staff tab
In the new HQ experience it'd be good to see staff's certifications without having to click into each of them individually

Currently, you can hover over a certification to view the expiry date, with colour indicators showing when a certification is close to expiring (yellow) or already expired (red). This idea suggests extending that functionality by including the certification type directly within the Staff tab.
