  1. It would be great to be able to filter unreconciled bank transactions in the bank rec so that it displays only spent amounts (and not received amounts).

    We have several thousand bank transactions in each month (mostly received amounts) under this entity and it would be great to be able to filter by unreconciled spent amounts only so that these transactions could be matched and processed before we run a weekly report of payables so that this report is accurate.

  2. The new Xero HQ is pretty but important functionally has been removed especially in the Staff tab.

    1. With the previous version of Xero HQ we could go to the STAFF tab click "Assign client" and we could use the search bar, select multiple organisation with different names, tick them and assign permissions to them all in bulk. This can longer be done as the search bar "forgets" what was selected, when the selection is not on the same page.

    2. From the staff view we now cannot see the roles of each and every staff member, we need to click on…

    I’d like to suggest a feature enhancement for the Trial Balance report in Xero. It would be incredibly helpful if we could group similar accounts under custom headings—similar to how MYOB AE offers a "Account Type Group" feature.

  4. As good as ATOmate is, it doesn't actually integrate to Xero. Every day or two, we need to manually run a couple of reports to get the correct data into ATOmate. According to ATOmate, this is an issue with the Xero API. There is a related issue with fee from refund integration, it would be great if the API could be adjusted to allow additional data to flow directly.

  5. Be able to export list of archived clients, especially if they still have xero subscription that was missed to cancel. So that these can be easily reviewed.

    We are paying Xero for no reason at all.

    Also the ability to bulk change those archived clients eg cancel subscriptions

    Perhaps when clients are archived there should be something to flag to remember to do something with the subscription eg cancel or transfer.

  6. Adding additional formatting options for reports so that we could fit reports to one page when exporting to PDF. Too many financials currently export with one or two line on the last page. This creates messy looking financials that are too many pages.

  8. Hi,

    When completing Deceased Estate returns in Xero Tax, it seems as per the screenshot provided the newly added estimates does not calculate the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset given the complexity and nature of the Lump Sums.

    Is there a way to have Xero Tax calculate the estimate with the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset taken into consideration as it has been in the past on MYOB? This way we can obtain a more accurate estimate of the tax payable for the Trustee.

When creating a journal and posting it, if we want to go back and make it an auto-reversing journal, the only way is to click "copy" or "reverse" then enter a new journal at a required future date. When doing this, Xero does not link the two (i.e. does not recognise the new journal as an auto reversing journal with the usual hyperlink and note). My suggestion is for Xero to keep the "auto reverse" field open when editing already posted journals. Two example use cases:

  10. We have set up tracking categories in xero - one for Land & property and one for Self employment. I want to be able to import the data in to their tax return. I normally generate on xero tax the xero sole trader accounts to then be able to import these into the tax return. However, when i do the sole trader accounts, it pull through all information - L&P & SE. I only want the SE bit so i can add this to the SE section on the tax return.   11. Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.

    At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).

    It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.

    At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

  12. Notes for Clients - XPM migrated from using the 'Folder' field to a new 'Tag' field within the client record’s Notes section, to unifying 'practice management tools'. What was the point of this? We could run a report of notes and filter with 'Folder'. But with the new 'tags' you can only filter by tags within a single client. This makes no sense and has removed significant functionality of the notes in XPM. Also, "existing folder-based notes will be automatically migrated" has not happened - existing notes have not been updated with tags.

  13. XPM shows your currently assigned jobs on the left, separated and grouped into the status of the job. This functionality is currently lost in the Partner Hub beta. It would be great to be able to "group by" status, in the jobs widget so provide some separation between different status jobs.

    Would also be ideal to be able to "filter by" in a similar fashion, only showing jobs with a certain status for example.

    Even better would be the ability to have multiple Jobs widgets - for example I would want a widget where that only shows jobs where I'm…

  14. Add functionality to merge client accounts used to access previously signed returns (via portal.xero.com). This would ensure that when a client updates their email address, their full record of signed tax returns remains intact and accessible through a single login with the new email. This eliminates the need to log in with multiple accounts to view the complete history of signed returns.

  16. Low Value Pool:

    Xero has locked the entry of low value figures taken from Quantity Surveyors Report for rental properties in tax - item D6 and insists on creating low value pool schedule by entering the asset.
    Per advice I received from specialist, I entered the figures and date from the beginning of low value pool e.g. 01/07/2019 with starting amount of $431.00. The following errors and issues come up:
    1. The calculated amount was $162 which was claimed five years ago
    2. On validation Xero gives error and asks for a date in current year i.e. between 01/07/2024 to…

  17. I'm completing my first Trust ITR for 2024, and inputting info into the new Trust Income Schedule.

    The Non-PP income flows through to Item 8, but the Capital Gain isn't flowing through to Item 21...

    WHY do you insist on SO MUCH double entry??!?

    It's not even throwing an error, like the 'Managed Fund' schedule does in an Individual ITR??

    Appreciate the conversations here. The other idea linked in this conversation that we delivered on was the ability for information to flow from the Trust Return(TRT) to Individual Returns(ITR) which is facilitated with the Trust Income Schedule.

    We appreciate wanting to see further improvement in this space, and this is something we have intentions of looking at in the future, however we don’t have any timeframe right now. I’ll be sure to share any news with you all here.

    We need a new customer statement format that functions as a "traditional" detailed ledger.

    The Problem: The current "Activity Statement" is focused on allocations. It shows which invoices are paid or unpaid and portion of payments made to the invoice, but it does not show the payment transactions themselves as separate line items.

    For example, if a customer makes one large payment of R5,000 to clear three invoices, the current statement splits this payment up as their parts to the invoice. The customer cannot see their R5,000 payment listed as a single transaction. This is confusing for…

    Hi Jasmine, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We can see why this would be helpful for some users. Currently, Xero offers the Customer Invoice Activity and the Contacts "Activity statement" . While this information is available on the account transaction report, it is not available in a Statement format. We've moved this idea to Gaining support so that other users who want this idea implemented can vote for it as well. You may share this idea with your colleagues to get more traction!

  19. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

    Hey Mandy, thanks for asking Anchal to raise this as an Idea for review. As Anchal and the Product team have conveyed this is being looked at currently (Balance Sheet addition to Partnership filings) and there will be updates as this progresses. The client address is not something we are looking at currently as it is not mandatory for HMRC or Companies House.
