  2. A % state by state breakdown of turnover is required for professional indemnity insurance policies for accountants. It would be great if Xero allowed us to do a report by state picking up the postcodes off the invoices.

Hi team, I'm happy to share that this is a feature you can look forward to having soon! If you haven't caught up on the Xerocon announcements you can read up on our blog.

Xero Partner Hub is the new practice experiences bringing all your practice tools together in one place and will be launching to partners early 2026. This will include many improvements to clients like being able to create a group from within a clients record. 🙂

Read up on the Xero Partner Hub on our website, where you can also register for early access beginning in Nov.

  5. It would be helpful to merge clients in XPM where two accounts have been created (different names) and tax returns filed under each one. For example a client entered under their maiden name and married name who have filed tax returns. In our case a duplicate was accidently created when doing the return and we have no way to now shift the tax return to the correct and active client account in XPM.

With the soon to come Xero Partner Hub we'll be bringing all your practice tools under one umbrella and improving your experience in managing and working with clients in your practice. With the combined experiences of Xero HQ and Practice Manager this'll include the ability to merge two clients into one, like you're after here 🙂

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Find more information about Xero Partner Hub on our website, and we'll be back to update you all as this goes live to practices in the coming months.

  6. Is it possible to get the total of the VAT due/refund on the VAT report in Xero for a period. Currently one have to do a calculation to see the VAT due/refund. Or have to generate the VAT201 report to see the amount due.
Ideal one would like to see the VAT due outomatically calculated as well as die balance of the VAT control account on one report. See attachement for an example.

  7. Show on xero tax form if you have imported the data on a cash or accruals basis. I often have no idea on initial viewing of a tax return.

  8. When the ATO rejects a submission (where the return does not need to be edited), we have to unlock the return. This removes it from the document pack, and the client gets notified.
This a terrible customer experience, when we just need to relodge. Example being tax returns lodged on 15 May.

  9. Adding a disclaimer & changing the substantiation declaration on the tax returns - our old system used to have this that the client could sign which we would like to make adjustments to but we have to manually add this on to tax returns in Xero tax.

  10. Given Xero has an IR3 Rental Schedule form and Home Office Work Papers why does the business schedule workpaper only have line by line capability and not a business schedule equivalent to IR's IR3B business schedule? Why is this helpful, it means we have the ability to put in front of the client not only the income and expenses relating to their small enterprise (i.e. usually don't warrant an accounting product) and provides traceability for fixed assets and depreciation claimed.

  11. There is currently no functionality to either re-name or disable the standard business structure types provided in XPM. For example "Not for Profit" is technically an entity classification - a NFP classification could apply to a Private Company, a Public Company or an Incorporated Association to name a few examples. We have used custom fields to profile these types of classifications separately. Currently, we have to manually review business structure profiles & update these where types outside our guidelines have been applied. It would save a great deal of hassle if unwanted types could be re-configured or disabled at practice…

  12. We have some clients that have multiple businesses under their personal names. Can we please have individual worksheets for each business to input income and expenses which then automatically totals into the business schedule in the main form?

At the moment in XERO tax, we need to put the grand totals into the business schedule, then split the amounts across the businesses for each expense/income line item. This is not practical as we generally receive separate figures for each business, not a grand total.

  13. I'd like a dashboard showing all clients listed under our organization with all banking details as well as in the moment bank feed status (ie: is the bank feed active, does it needs to be refreshed, has it dropped). This would enable those that have many clients under their organization to work smarter to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

Hi team, thanks for engaging us on the idea here. We appreciate more visibility of client bank feeds would help when managing and serving your clients day-to-day.

With the new Xero Partner Hub homepage we are designing and developing a range of widgets to help partners manage their practices. Right now, we're developing a Bank feed disruptions widget that'll help you identify any disruptions to bank feeds that affect your clients feeds, helping you to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

This is in development atm, and I'll share an update when this becomes available within Xero Partner Hub.

  14. Please add in the fixed asset numbers in the new depreciation schedule. The old report had this and it made it very easy to review and reconcile. This feature is very much needed. Thanks

  15. Enable use for non-Xero clients

For non-Xero clients, it would be very useful to be able to use Workpapers by importing client trial balances. Kindly update when this feature will be available.

Hi everyone, thanks for the on-going interest and engagement in this idea. As mentioned in our last update - tax adviser details will roll forward into the next year for each client, once added.

However, our product team do appreciate how auto-filling the tax adviser details would make things more efficient.

While we don't have immediate plans, this is something our teams are taking a closer look into solving for Xero Tax (UK) Personal tax.

I'll be sure to come back and keep you updated of any progress in this space.

  17. We have an Income Tax Client Report (ITCRPT Report) which links to the ATO and shows us who still needs to be lodged and their due date. We would like to add jobs to it so we can see the progress of their associated tax return job. Xero Support have advised currently, it is not possible to include any extra details to the ITCRPT Report.

  18. Losses carried forward have to be manually entered into XPM tax each year. It would be great if the information flowed through automatically from the tax return so that all we have to do is confirm it matches the IRD assessment. At a minimum it would be great if the losses to carry forward figure from 2023 automatically rolled forward to 2024 once it has been confirmed.

Hi team, back to share an update as work progresses. 😊

Our team are in active development of 2025 (and future years) tax returns to provide pre-population of loss balances bought forward. We'll also provide warning on the return where data differs from that received from IR.

I'll loop back again as we roll this out, along with further details of the change. Thanks!

  19. All other access roles can be done from HQ, except for this one.

Frustrating when this access has not been given to the staff member (overlooked) and staff member needs to create ABA file and cant.
