    Wouldn't it be great if when a return, activity statement etc connected to job is actually lodged, that the job automatically updates the status to lodged.

  2. Within XPM there are fields for individuals in the Tax section of Client with UTR and National Insurance number. It is not possible to import and upload to them, this would be useful as they then link to Xero Tax when filing a tax return. Currently we have them stored in a custom field as these weren't available originally. It would be good to be able to import all of our custom fields to the system's UTR and NINO fields.

It’s clear that the ability to import Unique Taxpayer References (UTR) and National Insurance Numbers (NINO) is important to you, and we hear the pain points about the extra manual work involved in not having this feature. A possible workaround is using a custom field for now, which can help keep this data within Xero Practice Manager. ⭐I wanted to provide an update on this. At Xerocon, we announced new developments for Xero Practice Manager and Xero HQ that are designed to improve efficiency and help you manage clients more effectively.   3. Automatic BADR lifetime allowance £1m application.

    At present for a gain of over £1m you need to enter two transactions, one with a £1m gain to apply BADR, and the remainder to be charged at 20% (24/25).

    It would be much better if the system knew the lifetime allowance and applied it only up to the limit.

    At present if you put the whole transaction to BADR it will apply 10% to more than £1m which is incorrect.

  4. Hi there, could Xero please add a VAT reconciliation report to the reports section where we can reconcile each VAT period's VAT payable/receivable to the VAT control account. This would make the VAT reviews and VAT reconciliations at year end so much easier and faster.

  5. It would be lovely if a practice could acces every required platform from the Xero dashboard. Including where one can keep an eye on the practices status and points.

    Hi Doina, as mentioned in my recent update here. I've split your idea into two, so we can gain understanding of the support in each separately.

    It'll be good to get a gauge of community interest for a Detailed Profit & Loss in the Statutory accounts for Micro Entities within Xero Tax(UK), through this idea.

    This isn't something we have road mapped atm, but we'll share if there are any updates.

  8. Allow a Column on your main page of transactions for mileage so you can add the mileage to the column for sales to be calculated

    I am a private hire driver and this I believe will benefit taxis and private hire drivers or people who do a lot of driving as a business.

    Can they not add another column on this page that we can add the mileage for each job that can then be calculated at the end of year as you do with what fairs come in or sales coming.

    Again, this would benefit greatly for small businesses…

    Thanks Simon, it does appear that you're referring to the jobs related to workpapers directly that you'd record mileage for.

    This isn't something that we have plans for right now, but we'll track the interest and share if there are any changes to update you on.

  9. It would be important to be able to edit the payment option available for a specific contact. Example: I have an international client that I would prefer if they did not get the option to pay their invoices with credit card. That would be useful to edit this within their contact settings so I don't have to manually change each of their invoices.

    Hey Fanie, thanks for your engagement and for sharing this excellent idea for managing customer payment options.

    We've reviewed your suggestion to be able to set specific payment options within a contact's settings, and it's now open to gain support from other community members. We can definitely see how this would save time by removing the need to manually edit each invoice for certain clients, like your international customer example.

  10. Being able to link several jobs with the one invoice raised in Xero blue. When issuing through Practice Ignition, it only allows you to allocate to one invoice in XPM. Moving the timesheets is clunky and inaccurate

  12. When drafting AIM reports in XPM, it would be helpful if you could hover over the box number and it lists the accounts that are being mapped there as opposed to changing report codes in blue Xero and continually having to update the AIM report to see if accounts are mapping correctly.

    Appreciate you raising this idea, Amy We've gone through your suggestion and taken a closer look at how things currently work.

    Right now, there isn't a built-in way to quickly view which accounts are linked to each AIM report box directly within the report. Based on your description, we understand how this would simplify the review process and reduce unnecessary steps when updating report codes.

    We’ve moved your idea to Gaining Support, which means others can now vote and add their perspective. That input really helps when our product teams are looking at what improvements to prioritise.

  13. When creating a new workpaper pack, clients appearing under the Organisation dropdown is taken from XPM (as a one-way sync).

    It isn't possible to delete duplicate clients in Workpapers, even once they've been removed from XPM and the information has been synced again.

    The downside is that the Permanent workpaper isn't brought forward from LY and there's no sync to XPM (as it's connected to the true client record).

    The workaround is to edit the client name in the Settings (by putting a DNU or ZZ in the name), save it, then delete that Workpaper.

    Hi Anthony, thanks for submitting this detailed idea for improving Xero Workpapers.

    We can certainly see how having duplicate clients appear in the organisation list would be frustrating, especially when it prevents permanent files from being brought forward correctly. Your suggestion to have a two-way sync with XPM or the ability to directly archive or delete these duplicates makes a lot of sense.

  14. Currently NZ clients can make payments to a Tax Pooling provider (e.g. Tax Traders or TMNZ) and they will sit in the Tax Pooling Providers account until transferred to IRD.
    In the clients mind they have 'paid this tax' already, but when the tax return is prepared in XPM there is no sign of any tax pooling payments, and it shows the full tax liability.

    Thank you for this excellent and detailed suggestion regarding NZ tax returns and tax pooling payments.

    We can certainly see how clients would find it confusing when their prepared tax return in XPM doesn't reflect payments they have already made to a provider like TMNZ or Tax Traders.   15. Maybe I'm missing something (integration settings perhaps) but if I enter a personal tax client's details into Xero HQ, then only some of this pushes into Xero Blue and I have to re-enter certain details like client code, email address etc as well as new fields such as sales defaults. Similarly, not all of the data pushes into Xero PM and the UTR/NI number have to be entered again. Is it not possible to have a Xero HQ as the single point of entry which then updates all fields in Xero PM and Xero Blue?

  17. There should be a comparative report available for New Zealand tax returns. This already exists for Australian tax returns. It is an excellent feature that really assists with preparing returns and avoiding missing details from prior years. I would love to see this feature available for New Zealand tax returns.   18. When using the field [Client] Group(s) as a criteria in step 3 of report builder, you can only specify the relevant client group name in the text field. There's currently no functionality for a drop down list of client groups to select from similar to the clients field. Requesting this as an option

  19. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

  20. Due to issues with staff editing recurring jobs but not updating the job name and/or description I would like to see the staff permissions for recurring jobs amended to have a dropdown list so we can limit staff access to editing recurring jobs but leave access to view, create and delete in the same way as with clients.
