It would be great if you can automate the ticking in of this 'ATOmate Fee For Service' (under client details) whenever 'Deduct fee from refund' is selected on the tax return currently in process. And if in the next financial year's tax return it is no longer fee from refund, 'ATOmate Fee For Service' will automatically be unticked.

  3. Keep the Xero Classic Look everyone preferred.

    The design of the Job Manager page is sadly reminiscent of an excel spreadsheet.

    One of the enjoyments of the Xero software compared to its competitors are the fresh, clean pages that make it inviting to use. The Job Manager board is missing the 'attractiveness' that has been part of Xero's signature branding.

    Specifically black text, flat checkboxes, grey cell borders and grey column headers makes it feel like an outdated 1990s program.

  4. It would really make my life easier if you could please allow the [Month] [Year] option to label on the task for recurring jobs. This would allow us to see in blue Xero the label of the task namely month and year when invoicing our clients. This would be really helpful when identify numerous jobs and tasks for the same client as the job name does not appear on the invoice in blue Xero. Also, with using the [Month] feature, it would roll over in the next recurring job on its own.

  5. Sorting Draft Invoices by Job Type

    Every quarter we invoice a large amount of standard disbursement costs these all come from a particular job type.
    It would be great if we could sort by job type so we could bulk approve these invoices. Currently it looks to sort by job number. This means when I 'select all' I have to manually go through and untick the draft invoices that have another job type. I have tried to set a filter to only show text with 'Quarterly' which shows in the job type but this produces no results.

    Hi community, we’re excited to announce that we're rolling out a new Workpapers solution. Considering the ideas raised for Workpapers in these forums our product team have done their best wrap many key requests into new Xero Workpapers!

    As highlighted in this idea, within the new solution there are customisable checklists and workflows, including check boxes designed to give you a clear and simple way to track and manage your review and sign-off processes. Our goal is to streamline your compliance workflows and reduce the need for manual tracking.

    We're releasing this in stages, starting with early access in Australia, with a progressive rollout to follow. I'll share more as this lands with everyone through this idea.

  7. ATO prefilling summary to include column displaying relevant Tax Return Label next to prefill information

    Example (Individual Tax Return - Bank Interest)
    Gross Interest $x,*** Label 10L

    Example (Managed Funds Distributions)
    Non primary production income amount $x,*** Label 13U

    Currently the ATO prefilling summary does not show the Tax Return Label which information will be prefilled into. Inclusion of Labels will make reconciliation between prefilling and Tax Return easier.

  9. Imagine that the worst has happened and the entire board of directors were eaten by sharks on the first day after the year end.

    Currently Xero Tax pulls the list of Directors from Companies House for the year in question, so
    while new directors could be appointed, none of them would be selectable to sign the Director's Report or Balance Sheet in Xero Tax. On the other hand we would be able to select Directors to sign the accounts who in this hypothetical situation were busy being fish food.

    Thanks for raising this, please do look out for the sharks! Atm, Xero Tax pulls the information at the date the filing is created so providing they're directors at that date, they should be included in the company information we receive back.

    This'll include all active directors, whether they're appointed in the year of afterwards.

    However, we're planning to improve this to offer more flexibility around the Directors information, including improving the format of the names themselves. We'll be in touch when we have more detail to share.

  10. We are trying to move all client records to Xero away from a different software provider but we need custom fields that we have built in Xero Practice Manager to be synced with Xero HQ please. This way we will be able to filter our clients using the custom fields that we have created which will then match what we can do in the software that we are trying to move away from.

  11. When invoicing a job for a client that has a Billing Client I would like to able to sometimes invoice the Job Client instead of the Billing Client. Currently if there is a Billing Client exists XPM forces you to invoice the Billing Client.

  12. I conduct many Zoom meetings and review an existing Word interview checklist and ATO Authorization with my clients. To automate the process, I would like to add my current checklist and ATO authorization with Xero tax fields as a template. When the interview is completed, the checklist and ATO authorization must be sent to the client for signature.

  13. The ability to hide a Job State (eg Completed) from the quick edit selection and within editing a job, from select users would be great.
    Eliminating the possibility for a user to incorrectly move an open job to a state that should only be closed by the Admin Team.

    We are wanting to add a new column under the family group view in XPM to show the budget against the open jobs. Making it easier to see what budget has been allocated again each job to make it easier for billing.

  15. Add the ability to reference a job via the url e.g. https://app.practicemanager.xero.com/job/jobview.aspx?id=J012480 where J012480 is the Job Code in XPM.

In MYOB, we had individuals as well as partnerships and trusts (which names included surnames of the associated individuals) set up in surname order, which would allow the clients to be sorted, filtered and exported to various lists or worksheets in that order and make it easy to compare/pick up other fields that should be the same for the group/family members (like addresses, emails for tax notices etc). In Xero, however, the names are sorted by the Name* (for entities) or Display Name* (for individuals) - the fields which we only want to be used as display names on the…

  17. I still have lots of staff asking to see a Group Certificate, especially if they have not put their tax in for a few years. It would be great if we could generate a "dummy" group certificate for the staff member, after the end of financial year. It give them the info they want immediately and adds professionalism to our company if we can provide what they need.

  18. When going through tax payment letters it can be useful to make a note i.e spoken with client re tax or checked IRD. However, once the tax payment is approved it cannot be edited or deleted and also will not remain in the notes box but rather provisional tax history.

  19. I would like to be able to create a report of clients whose GST filing is due but there are not enough fields to filter them out. We can select 2 monthly but not select whether they are '2 monthly odd' or '2 monthly even' and we can select 6 monthly but not choose which 2 months of the yer their returns are due. It would be great if we didnt have to enter the same info twice by creating a custom field.

  20. I'd really love to see an option in My Xero where the default sorting can be set to the file most recently opened by me (as opposed to alphabetical, or the file last viewed date). That way all of the current clients I'm working on will be near the top of the list rather than having to scroll down and find them, or search each time!
