Practice tools - Dashboard for client bank feed status
I'd like a dashboard showing all clients listed under our organization with all banking details as well as in the moment bank feed status (ie: is the bank feed active, does it needs to be refreshed, has it dropped). This would enable those that have many clients under their organization to work smarter to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.

With the new Xero Partner Hub homepage we are designing and developing a range of widgets to help partners manage their practices. Right now, we're developing a Bank feed disruptions widget that'll help you identify any disruptions to bank feeds that affect your clients feeds, helping you to fix bank feeds as soon as they're down without delays.
This is in development atm, and I'll share an update when this becomes available within Xero Partner Hub.

Workpapers - Integrate with the Xero trial balance
Integrate workpapers module into Xero with direct links to the Xero trial balance. Importing the trial balance is impractical and time wasting and the allocation of the account balances within workpapers is dependant on the report code allocations. You should have to option to view all the account balances and the net profit or loss from the trial balance when viewing workpapers to ensure all balance sheet accounst are included.

Clients - Warning when creating client record with same TFN as archived client
When creating a new client the duplicate TFN warning should also apply to Archived clients.

As you've likely heard through other communications we're in the midst of rolling out a unified Client experience as part of our wider Xero Partner Hub.
With the new Client experience you can now;
- Create a client without a TFN, as the Create Client flow has been updated to capture only the basic details
- The TFN can be added later by clicking Edit once the client is created.
- If you do try add a TFN that already exists on an archived client, an error message is displayed - you can get a view of what this looks like in my attachment

Workpapers - Rearrange support documents in workpaper
Support documents uploaded to a workpaper are listed at the bottom of a workpaper in the order they are uploaded in, it would be a handy feature to be able to reorganise uploaded documents as needed for ease of review and keeping items in say account or alphabetical order.

Practice tools | Client - Replace the fax number field with mobile phone number
There are client level fields for phone and fax numbers. We have not had a fax machine in the office for a number of years. and it would be more useful to have these fields nominated as landline and mobile numbers. Consideration would have to be given to how this meshes into FYIDocs and FuseSign as FuseSign has issues if the phone number field does not meet its defined parameters.

With the new clients experience within Xero Partner Hub you'll soon have new client fields including the ability to enter multiple email and phone numbers so you'll have a place to record client mobile along with other contact numbers.

Workpapers - Ability to add more users
Sometimes we have more than three people working on a job and currently Xero only allows for one preparer, manager and partner on a job. It would be good if we could have more flexibility in this area.

Workpapers - Ability to add a note function to each account
Add a note function to each account. Similar to the queries button but just for general notes about what's in the account that doesn't need a resolution. This would be helpful near the account rather then just at the start in the job note section as it would allow quick access for others to see the note when looking at the specific account.

Financial reports - Do not remove date fields in notes when using "Edit layout"
In the last financial year, we made multiple and significant layout changes to the accounting schedules in our financial notes.
Therefore, we intend to 'Copy and Edit' most of our financial reports. However, we have found that when you 'edit layout' it removes the date field codes in our numbered notes regardless of if you edit the number notes or not - therefore losing it's auto updating feature.
As a result, we are now having to manually update the year in all of our financials, or start from scratch.
Please make it so edit layout does not remove date fields…45 votesHey everyone, thanks again for your support in this idea. We've made more moves in this space with work now underway to make a change to how report fields work.
We'll be making these non editable within a report once a Report field's been added and run on a report at the client level, so they maintain their auto updating capabilities.

Workpapers - Ability to set period that workpaper is run across
Workpapers to run for periods (not just years) and for periods ending not on a month end.
The majority of my clients have a year end with 5 April. At the moment i would only be able to run the work papers to 31 March. I also have other clients with year end dates throughout the year.
In addition to this, I can only run the workpapers for a full year. What happens if a business ceases. Often we need to run a set of accounts, and therefore workpapers, for a shorter/longer period.

Workpapers: Notify when Review is Complete
Currently there are several system notifications in Xero Workpapers however there is not one for when the partner has approved the workpaper pack. This should then send a notification back to the preparer/manager to let them know the job is right to be finalised.

Workpapers - Highlight accounts that need attention
Would it be possible to integrate a feature where the workpapers notify the user that there may be Xero accounts that have balances in the relevant year that have not pulled through to any of the workpapers being used (say for example because the report codes mapping for a new account has not been set up properly)?

Staff Report - Client & organisation access
Currently when a staff member leaves we can remove their access on the clients we subscribe to Xero but can't remove access where the client subscribes directly and has invited them in.
For security purposes, it would be good if the practice admin could easily run a report on the leaver showing all the clients they have access to. You can do this on screen however we want the client managers to get in touch with their relevant clients as they have the relationship.

To provide an update on how this currently works with the new unified staff and client experiences - When removing a staff member from your practice, the following organisation access is also removed:
- Linked to active clients
- Linked to archived clients
- Owned by the practice
We're also looking into further enhancements to this flow to make the removal of org access optional. I'll share another update to confirm once this is implemented. Thanks

Xero HQ - Client Groups Reporting
I use 'client groups' extensively in HQ. I need to see which clients are not in a group at all, and which ones are in more than one group, but this is not possible. Please allow us to report on which groups each client is in.

Within a Client record, you can now see what groups they belong to, and add or remove them - check out this article for more information. Please note, this is not available as a report, but is available on a client by client basis.While the team have been really busy working on the single client record, they also hope to introduce a Groups list and group details (similar to what is currently available in XPM) to increase the ability to manage Groups within HQ. We’ll be sure to return & update you here when that’s available.

XPM - Add an Account Manager column to the client list
Can we please customise client page on XPM to add a column for the Account Manager. We currently see the Client NAME, PH NUMBER, and ADDRESS. Can we please add Account Manager to the page?
It would cut out a lot time when processing morning mail or directing phone calls from clients as this would mean we don't have to open the client file to see who they belong to.26 votesThanks for letting us know the changes that'd improve your experience managing your practice on Xero. XPM - Merge clients
It would be helpful to merge clients in XPM where two accounts have been created (different names) and tax returns filed under each one. For example a client entered under their maiden name and married name who have filed tax returns. In our case a duplicate was accidently created when doing the return and we have no way to now shift the tax return to the correct and active client account in XPM.

Workpapers - Option to show Decimal Places
When using Xero Workpapers, it imports the figures across from the Xero client file without decimals. Therefore, when I'm comparing these figures in Workpapers to client reports and bank statements these are often slightly out.
Can you please update Workpapers so that there is an option to show decimal places?

I'm pleased to let you know that our product teams have paid close attention to the idea from our community here as they develop our new Workpapers solution, where all workpapers in the new solution will show 2 decimal places.
For those of you using the existing Workpapers solution, there's no immediate change. You can continue with your current workflow. Once the new solution becomes available, we'll share more information on how to access it.
We're beginning to roll this out to Partners starting with Australia, and will be expanding to other regions in early 2026.

Client queries - Uploading to specific line item
Xero workpaper functionality that allows clients to submit their query responses against a specific line item, rather than the paper tab. Currently, it is difficult to determine which account the supporting document is for.
