  2. Currently, Practice Information (which contains key firm-wide settings, addresses, and details) appears to be missing a direct link in the main navigation menu (the left-hand sidebar).

    Issue: Users must navigate through multiple menus or settings screens to find and update core firm details.

    Request: Please add a clear, direct menu item for Practice Information to the main vertical menu bar for easy and immediate access.

    Implementing these changes would be a significant quality-of-life improvement for all XPM users. Thank you for considering this feature request!

  3. When Settlor relationship exists for a client, this needs to flow through automatically to the IR6 in the same way that Beneficiary relationships do.

  6. Overview:
    Currently, in Xero, the branding theme determines the payment terms and payment method for invoices and bills. While this approach works for general branding purposes, it limits flexibility when managing diverse customer or supplier requirements.

    Problem Statement:
    Many businesses have contacts with unique payment arrangements that do not align with a single branding theme. For example:

    Certain customers may require extended payment terms (e.g., 60 days) while others operate on shorter cycles (e.g., 30 days).
    Suppliers may prefer specific payment methods (e.g., EFT, credit card) that differ from the default settings.

    Hi Meehgan thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate having the need to have different payment terms for different contacts.   8. The Client Name used to be clear and in the centre of the page before the new update. Now, I forget which client I am in, and it is easy to get it mixed up with the Referral Source.

  9. Previously, checkbox options were all visible, without clicking.

    Now I have to click and see the options (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).

    Previously, I could click Opt Out and it would opt out... now I have to uncheck 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks). If I wanted to opt in, I could uncheck Opt Out and it would opt in... now I have to check 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).

    What is it about making the product more efficient, not less efficient, do you not understand?

    Hi Doina, as mentioned in my recent update here. I've split your idea into two, so we can gain understanding of the support in each separately.

    It'll be good to get a gauge of community interest for a Detailed Profit & Loss in the Statutory accounts for Micro Entities within Xero Tax(UK), through this idea.

    This isn't something we have road mapped atm, but we'll share if there are any updates.

  11. Xero Tax pulls in the dates for the accounts from Companies House and assumes that the dates for the tax return will be the same. This might not always be the case - my example is due to the leap year causing problems

    I filed returns to Companies House and HMRC to include 29 Feb as the guidance suggested using my previous software. This was all accepted fine but now I am unable to file a CT600 using Xero tax because Companies House have the year starting on 29 Feb but HMRC have it on 1 Mar.

  12. Allow a Column on your main page of transactions for mileage so you can add the mileage to the column for sales to be calculated

    I am a private hire driver and this I believe will benefit taxis and private hire drivers or people who do a lot of driving as a business.

    Can they not add another column on this page that we can add the mileage for each job that can then be calculated at the end of year as you do with what fairs come in or sales coming.

    Again, this would benefit greatly for small businesses…

    Thanks Simon, it does appear that you're referring to the jobs related to workpapers directly that you'd record mileage for.

    This isn't something that we have plans for right now, but we'll track the interest and share if there are any changes to update you on.

  13. To stop the autocorrection for daylight saving in the Timer. I know only happens twice a year, but is very frustrating trying to enter time when the Timer keeps adding (or removing) an hour from the time entered. For example - when enter 09.00 in the Start time, jumps to 10.00; then when enter 10.00 in End time, both the Start and End time jump to 11.00.
    Please can have corrected so the time does not autocorrect.

  14. Hi there, could Xero please add a VAT reconciliation report to the reports section where we can reconcile each VAT period's VAT payable/receivable to the VAT control account. This would make the VAT reviews and VAT reconciliations at year end so much easier and faster.

  15. When inputting R&D figures for a period of account longer than 12 months (i.e. where 2x corporation tax returns are needed), we are unable to put specific R&D expenditures in a specific corporation tax periods. This is an issue with overseas workers where the periods are pre and post 1 April 2024, and where expenditure is only eligible in one of the periods. As currently, the expenditure is pro-rated, this means that non-qualifying expenditure is being brought into one of the periods.

    Hi YiLing thanks for sharing this idea. Currently Xero allows the ability to use draft returns and the "Estimate" tab for basic scenario testing. For complex scenarios, it is recommended to use ATO calculators and compare results manually. We will move this idea to Gaining support and monitor for more traction from users.

    Currently, you can hover over a certification to view the expiry date, with colour indicators showing when a certification is close to expiring (yellow) or already expired (red). This idea suggests extending that functionality by including the certification type directly within the Staff tab.

  19. We would like to be able to generate partnership and sole trader accounts in Xero without having to use Xero's fixed asset module. The fixed asset note generated in the accounts not is currently not fit for use without uploading all assets into the fixed asset module.

    Hi Victoria, thank you for sharing this idea with is. We understand that while the Fixed Assets module is a core part of Xero, many practices use specialized external software or custom spreadsheets to manage their asset registers. Currently, the UK Tax and Accounts Production workflow is designed to pull directly from the Xero Fixed Asset module to ensure data integrity, but we recognize that being "forced" into this workflow can create extra manual work for those using external tools.

    While there isn't a direct filter for account codes in Xero right now, you could potentially explore the option to use Contact groups or tracking categories to help sort clients in this report.
