financial accounts
For Company Accounts - the directors feed from Companies House and include the resignation date in the Company Information section of the accounts. However, the final report doesn't include the resignation date against the director. Whilst, there is obviously a work around to include the date as if it's part of the directors name, it relies on manual intervention and given the information is already there, it seems odd that it isn't automatic.

Quotation vs Invoice
Create a report that shows the Quotation number and the created date as well as the Invoice number and created date. I want to be able to see all the information so I can see the turn around time from when we started with the client to the time it took to invoice them. No report on Xero shows both lots of information on one report. Also no way to export different reports and then link each line with a unique factor to build the report.
There should also be an option under build reports to pull from sources not…

Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement should not appear on the Balance Sheet in f
The Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement ("the directors have chosen to not file a copy of the company’s profit and loss account under section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006")appears on the Balance Sheet in the full accounts. This statement should only be in the abridged accounts for Companies House, The only workaround is to manually edit the pdf, which requires pdf software and takes time. This needs to be amended.

Allow Financial Report Comparison Periods to Display in Chronological Order (Oldest to Newest)
Current Behaviour
When using comparison periods in Xero financial reports (such as Profit & Loss), the report automatically displays periods in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest).
Whilst users can manually reorder columns using the Edit Layout function, this change only applies to the specific report layout and does not dynamically adapt when different reporting periods are selected. As a result, users must manually rearrange the columns each time they run reports for different months, quarters, or years.
Problem
For businesses that regularly prepare management accounts, board packs, investor reporting, or trend analysis, reviewing financial performance from oldest to newest…

Sort reports by
Sort "Transactions by VAT box" by the sub headings i.e the Account and not just by Date. It would make it a lot easier when revieweing the VAT return. If I could sort by the Account I could go scroll through and easily see if anything has been posted to an account that doesn't attract VAT such as Entertainment or Insurance and ensure there are no transactions posted there.

Report Column Headings on Multiple Pages
As I inquired on how to modify a report to allow for printing the column headings on multiple pages, Xero Support told me that I should "export the report and add the headings on page breaks".
Come on, Xero. That response was like a QuickBooks response! Surely someone at Xero must realize that when a report spans multiple pages, the user frequently may need to refer back to page one to be sure they understand what the numbers they are viewing are related to. Multiple page reports SHOULD have the column headings repeat on every page the report prints on…

Attach customer to a group{s} within the customer screen
It would be nice to be able to attach customers to groups within the contact details screen. Due to the way Xero works, every single customer has to be attached to at least two different groups for reporting purposes. I have one group called Customers so that I get every customer an no other entities in reports. The next I have to attach the customer to a state since there is no availability to create reports of sales by state.

filter account transactions by contact
When filtering Account Transactions report by contact, show only contacts in the report, rather than all contacts.
Would make conducting a review a lot easier - i.e. if you are reviewing one account in particular.2 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

Improve the uncoded statement lines report
The uncoded statement lines report is really helpful to send to clients to show what documents we are missing, but seems to lack the functionality of the other reports.
On high volume clients with multiple bank accounts an un-grouped option would be useful. When client provides receipts in currency paid GBP it is more helpful to have the data sorted by date rather than by bank account.
It would be good to have the date range shortcuts (eg "this month", "last month", "last quarter") on this report - the uncoded statement lines report only has the calendar date selection option.

Budget Manager - Add Balance Sheet Items to Budget
Budget Manager - Add Balance Sheet Items to Budget.
- It makes no sense that one can't budget for balance sheet items.
- The purchase of assets and repayment of loans, etc., have to be budgeted for and reflected in the budget actual vs budget reports.2 votesHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. We'll be in touch soon to update you once your idea has been reviewed.

Claude Connector improvements - Multi Entity & Transaction level data
Two significant limitations with the Xero-Claude connector that make it difficult to use in practice:
Single entity authentication only. Multi-entity businesses need to aggregate data across legal entities, but currently you have to stop the Claude session and reauthenticate for each entity. This rules out any scheduled or automated processes, which largely negates the value of the integration - at that point it's quicker to download a Xero extract or use another tool like XO.
No transaction-level data. Pulling GL balances is useful, but most reconciliations and business reports require underlying transaction detail. Since Claude can't pull this, you're already…

Reports - Allow filtering out customers with zero balances or no activity on customer activity reports
A report is needed that lists the customer activity with the ability to filter out customers with a zero balance. It takes 20 minutes to run an activity report (which is transactions in AR) then filter out all of the customers with a zero balance. This needs to be done monthly and it is ridiculous to not have that ability.
2 votesThanks for bringing this idea to the community.
Being able to exclude customers with zero balances or no activity directly within accounts receivable reports could make it easier to review outstanding balances without needing to manually filter the results.
We've updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If this feature would help your workflow, add your vote and share which reports you'd like this filter to be included.

Customer List
Please create a customer list report with options to list the fields in the contact details. The export sucks because one cannot filter it or choose the fields to export.
2 votesHi Suzette, are there any specific contact details that you would be looking to get in a report? If you can share a little more on your use case this will help when sharing back with our product teams. Thanks!

Reporting - Allow file import or upload to the Published Reports for record-keeping
Import a completed year end file into Xero. Store in Custom report, can't be amended, as this represents the final published accounts. Would be great to keep a permanent copy here, like all of our previous Published reports, that we can no longer use due to a change in reporting standards (NZ changes to incorporated societies reporting requirements under XRB).
1 voteThanks for sharing more detail around your suggestion. We understand the request to upload prepared year-end reports into Xero's Published Reports so all final financial records can be stored in one place. Having the ability to keep these documents alongside reports created in Xero could make record keeping and year-end reporting easier.
In the meantime, you can upload completed reports to Files to keep them stored within your Xero organisation.

Cash flow Manager - Calculate vat liability
It would be good if Xero could use vat charged on invoices and spent on bills to calculate what the predicted VAT is for that quarter and add it into cash flow manager - rather than this needing to be added manually

Reporting Export - Excel total rows should add up formula column values
If I have a report and a column is a formula.
When I export that report to excel, the column has the underlying formula in each cell.
The column even has that formula in a cell that is in a total row. This is okay if the formula is a percentage, but never if the formula is an amount.
A total row with an amount should always be the total of the cells above it. Never any other formula.
Other column types (such as date), do not suffer this issue, they will correctly insert a formula that sums the cells…

US Sales Tax - Use Tax application and returns
U.S. State Returns - USE TAX PROCESSING NOTES
6/10/26
Note: the following notes are based on treatment of Use Tax in California and South Dakota. I believe that the procedures listed would apply to most states that impose a Use Tax.
What is Use Tax?
Use Tax is the term used to describe the “Sales Tax Equivalent” that applies when an organization purchases a taxable item/items from a vendor and the invoice for the purchase does not contain a charge for the appropriate sales tax. The amount of the Use Tax is typically the same amount as the Sales Tax…1 voteHi 👋 your idea is being looked into by our Community team. NZ TAX - Separate the "Completed" and the "Audit Check" button
It would be really great to separate out the "Completed" and the "Audit Check" button in XPM for the tax returns and have them side-by-side rather than having the "Audit Check" hiding inside a drop-down menu behind "Completed".
These have two vastly different outcomes - the "audit check" is great for checking things are completed correctly (especially great for learning staff), but this is only accessible by clicking on the little arrow beside the "complete" button. If the "complete" button is accidently hit... it's stupendously annoying.
Many people don't have the authority to reverse clicking on "complete" i.e. to unlock…

We’ve reviewed it your idea is now open for other community members to vote on and comment on, so they can share how this change would impact their practice too. That feedback is really helpful for our team as it gives us a better understanding of the level of interest and the workflow impact for customers.
