UK Unincorporated society CT600 Corporation Tax Returns
Unincorporated societies in the UK are required to submit a CT600 tax return, however this feature in Xero is currently restricted to Limited Companies and I was advised to go via an Accountant or Xero's advisory service to do this.
Unincorporated societies are by their nature non-profit and only have low income and turnover, so expensive advisory services are not an option.
Since it is already possible for a Limited Company to make a tax return it should be a simple change to allow Unincorporated Societies to use the same filing feature to make a CT600 submission.

Manual Journals - Total of Debit and Credit beneath columns
The new menu format does not make logical sense. You now have to scroll to see any details and in long journal postings scroll down the page due to unnecessary spacing and you cant resize the columns? In addition, why are the totals for the debit and credit columns not underneath the columns?
Logically, it would make sense to have the description first, followed by account, debit, credit to enable easy review. The new layout appears to be more confusing than anything else. If we can re arrange the rows, can we also re arrange the columns?
The previous format…
12 votesHi everyone, we have split this idea from the original post so we can get a better sense of interest in being able to view credit and debit totals directly under the columns here.
For now we are keeping an eye on the support for this here.

New Manual Journals - Increase column width
The latest manual journal update doesn't show enough of the description field to be able to read. It also won't allow us to enter down in the description, it just adds it all in 1 long line.
We should be able to increase or decrease the width of each column.11 votesThanks for taking the time to suggest this, Julia. A flexible column sizing and multi-line descriptions could make working with detailed manual journals more efficient, especially when reviewing longer entries.

Access to company accounts and corporation tax filing for people who are not subscribers but actually do all the work
Many business owners/directors do not actually do their own accounting, preparation of accounts or corporation tax returns yet they are probably the subscriber to XERO.
I think the company accountant/bookkeeper should be allowed access to this area as the people that I do accounts and tax returns for would have no idea how to manage this area of Work and yet they’re the subscribers - the only people who have access to it. This is illogical.1 voteThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Ideas. We appreciate you taking time to let us know how we could improve Xero for you.

Find & Recode: Add bulk toggle for Tax Treatment (Inclusive vs. Exclusive)
Description:Please add an option in the Find and Recode tool to mass-update the "Amounts are" tax treatment setting (Tax Inclusive / Tax Exclusive) on invoices, bills, and credit notes.Currently, if an import file of 100+ invoices is mistakenly processed as Tax Exclusive instead of Tax Inclusive, Find and Recode cannot fix it. Recoding the tax rate natively holds the line total the same and ruins the unit pricing. The user's only current recourse is to manually open and edit 100 individual invoices, or delete them one by one and re-import. This feature is heavily needed in Find and Recode to…

New Manual Journals - Compact view
I’m honestly quite dismayed by the recent update to the Manual Journal interface for NZ clients in Xero.
I’m finding the new layout a little difficult to work with. In particular, there seems to be quite a lot of space allocated to the amounts section, while the Account Title and Description columns have less space. I think the interface would be more practical and easier to read if the layout could be made more compact, with more space allocated to the Account Title and Description fields.
Additionally, the date format appears to follow the US/American standard rather than the New…
29 votesThanks for your feedback, Elma. Our product team is paying close attention to this and exploring ways to improve the experience for users working on smaller screens or using split-screen layouts.
The Account and Description columns are responsive, so widening your view will expand these columns and provide more visibility. We understand, though, that this may depend on your individual setup and processes.
I’ve updated the title of your idea to reflect your request for a compact view, which will help us track interest in this improvement.
Regarding the date formatting, dates in manual journals are localised. We recommend checking your browser’s default language and region settings and, if needed, updating them to match your location. For example, selecting English (New Zealand), English (Australia), or English (United Kingdom) will allow you to enter dates in the DDMMYYYY format.

Manual Journals list - Ability to set default for number of journals shown
Currently when you go to Journals, there are 25 journals showing. I have to constantly change this to 50 or 100 to view journals.
Can this default be changed to say 100?2 votesHi Catherine, it sounds like the key suggestion is for Manual Journals to remember the selected page size, so users don't need to switch from 25 to 50 or 100 each time.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. If this could improve your workflow, add your vote and share how you'd like the setting to work.

MTD for IT - Clients to be able to add multiple tax payers in Xero themselves
It's great that, as a Xero Partner, we can add multiple taxpayers to the same Xero licence for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. This is particularly beneficial for situations such as husband and wife property owners who each hold a 50% share of a property.
However, not all clients choose to have their accountant manage their MTD submissions. For those who prefer to handle their own compliance, it can be frustrating that a second taxpayer cannot currently be added directly by the client within Xero.
Allowing clients to add and manage additional taxpayers themselves would be a valuable enhancement.…

Reports - Advanced dynamic reporting builder with multi-table joins and custom calculations
Dynamic reporting. So users are able to select tables and can join multiple tables, add mathmatical functions and but date and fileters in this dynamic report. This way and average joe don't need to setup pipelines for simple repoting. The option to drag and drop ccolumns would be super helpful. Take field glass reporting as an example. Scheduling features to all of the reports would be a game changer, then suddnely, users can setup piplines through Xero GUI instead of tinkering with the API to get this working.
1 voteThanks for bringing this to the community. Having a visual reporting builder with greater flexibility around data sources, and calculations formula could reduce the need to move data into spreadsheets or other reporting tools.
I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would be useful, add your vote and share the reports you currently need to build outside Xero.

Reporting - Combine Contact Transactions Summary and the Supplier Bill Activity reports
please add "Contact Cash Activity" / "spent Money and receive Money transactions" to "Supplier Bill Activity". i want to have everything in one place. it is extremely time consuming and tedious to keep switching between reports.
1 voteThanks for raising this idea with us! ⭐ We understand you would prefer to see this information in one place, the spend money transactions alongside a supplier’s bills. Currently you do need to switch between reports. Others can now Vote and comment on this idea and we’ll start to get a gauge of the support for this from your idea, here. ✨

Xero Version - Add Sweden as a version
Please launch Xero in Sweden. I use Xero for a large UK company and find it far better than the Swedish accounting systems I use for several Swedish companies. The difference in usability, reporting and integrations is huge.
I know many Swedish businesses and accountants that would switch if Xero properly supported Sweden, including Swedish VAT, the BAS chart of accounts, bank feeds and local reporting requirements.
There is no need to localise the interface into Swedish. English is widely used in Swedish business, and many people actually prefer English for software.

Payroll AU: Set Date range for Payment Summary Details report
Can we run Payment Summary Details report monthly. Currently available annually
1 voteThanks for sharing your idea! Currently, the Payment Summary Details report can only be set to a financial year. However, the Payroll Employee Summary report allows you to select any date range and provides similar information.

Workpapers - Capital Gains Totaled in Tax Schedule
When capital gains are reported via managed funds worksheets, why can these totals not be automatically tallied up in the capital gains tax schedule?

Fixed Asset - Export Registry in PDF or Excel format
Please make it possible to actually print or export a fixed asset registry to PDF or Excel. Not CSV. There is no use for the CSV at all? Except may if you import to another set of books.
But for reported and editing purposes you want it in either pdf or excel to sort quickly. No one has time to work through a CSV File!!! for quick reporting purposes.
1 voteThanks for raising this suggestion, Annelie. Being able to export the Fixed Asset Register directly to PDF or Excel could make it easier to use the report for year-end reviews and client reporting.
In the meantime, opening the CSV export in Excel or utilizing the Asset Summary report remains the most practical workaround.
I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. If you regularly export the register, let us know which format you’d use most and how you’d like it presented.

Resending signature requests in bulk
It would be a time saver if I could use the resend signature request reminders in bulk from the Xero Tax [To Sign] tab rather than having to go through each client's overview window individually.

import from xero tax return
Allow the Import from Tax function to be mapped at the master level to a Master Chart of Accounts, this would enable account mappings to be consistent and eliminate additional entry and review time in the first year, with only new accounts being addressed.

BAS - Remove merge cells when exporting Activity Statement report to Excel
The suggestion is to remove merged cells from the Activity Statement Excel export.
Currently, the Activity Statement export contains merged cells in the headings, which makes the spreadsheet more difficult to manipulate, analyse and work with in Excel. Users need to manually unmerge and reformat the cells before they can easily use the exported data.
2 votesHi, thank you so much for taking the time to raise this idea ✨ We really appreciate you sharing how merged cells make Activity Statement Excel exports harder to work with.

Statement of Cash Flows - Option to exclude Credit Card accounts from Cash and Cash Equivalents
Credit cards are setup to enjoy the benefit of bank feeds. But under reporting standards they are treated as trade payables. So that means at year end a work around needs to be added. Is there any chance you could setup the report so as to exclude credit cards? For those that need it the work around is
At the core is Xero’s faulty treatment of credit cards.
If we take the approach credit cards are trade payables (as per accounting standards) and not akin to an overdraft, then the work around for the cash flow statement becomes as follows.…
1 voteAppreciate you raising this idea. We understand the request for more control over how accounts are classified in the Statement of Cash Flows, such as the ability to prevent credit card accounts from being included in Cash and Cash Equivalents.

Manual Journals - Date shortcuts to work with pre-entered date
When you use a date shortcut (eg +7) it DOES NOT WORK when using manual journals.
Here's a video demonstrating the problem: https://www.loom.com/share/6f035e84ebce42cab95c67dbbe65a608
I posted this feedback a few days ago and the reply from Xero admin was the function does work as designed, and since the thread is now closed, I've reposted with a video of me using the date shortcuts and demonstrating how they don't work.
1 voteHi TJ, thanks for sharing the short video - I can see what you mean here.
To clarify how date shortcuts work in Manual Journals, they’re based on the current date rather than any date already entered in the field. If Xero doesn’t recognise the shortcut you’ve entered, it defaults to today’s date.
If you want to enter a date from a previous month, the shortcut to use is “Date in a month”, as shown in our help table. For example, 8/Jun or 6/8 would enter 8 June 2026.
I understand the behaviour you’d prefer, so I’ve slightly amended the title of your idea. This isn’t something we have plans of developing for shortcuts at present but we’ll start tracking interest in this date shortcut behaviour from your post.

Tax notices
Your Tax Notice support documents need to include information about updating the Changed Tab and updating the tax notices you wish to ignore as the client is not required to pay prov tax - the reason for this: the missed tax payments report that is run after the tax payment due date will not make sense and the data will be incorrect if these steps are not explained to users.
