Report templates - Standard unsummarised Balance sheet option
Can we get a regular balance sheet in the Advisor (management) packs?
For some reason it provides a summarised version, with statutory lines only (eg Fixed Assets, Trade debtors etc) but not the TB account by account.
"More" even has an "Account codes" option, which doesn't work 😕
Come on Xero!
1 voteHi Yaakov, appreciate it's taken me a while to get back to you here and thank you for the additional detail and I have taken a look into your interactions with our Xero Support team.
Understand that you'd like an option to have a standard option when creating report templates to select a Balance Sheet that has all groups listing each account rather than showing totals as a default. While it's not in our immediate plans, like you've noted right now it is possible to Edit the layout of the report template to deselect the Total option for each grouping and Save the layout.
We'll keep your idea here open to get a sense of interest from others in this, and I will share if there is any update around this for you here.

API - Add a VAT201 Report endpoint to the Xero API
If the VAT201 report endpoint is added to the Xero API, it could save businesses doing the reconciliation for their clients and their tax returns. The report could then be saved directly to an excel document based on specific dates and this could lead to hours of time being saved for the people doing the recon.

Reporting - Better filtering in Reconciliation Reports
Where there is more than one bank account in an organization, it would be very useful to be able to filter out a particular Cat Code, separately , within each bank account. Currently one gets the entire Cat Code for the entire organization, showing all the bank accounts. Also, the column "Tax" remains blank when a bank account's reconciliations for the date selected are chosen. Please see my uploaded example of just one bank account's reconciliations, which contains every transaction, but no tax shown. The report shows "Gross" and "Net" to be equal, when in fact there are many with…

New GST report - Add attachment icon to RHS
It would be helpful if you could see if an attachment was uploaded - you could consider showing an Icon outside the RHS of each line., as something Every GST checker needs to do, is make sure they have the appropriate attached Invoice so they can claim the GST. In Xero, it is laborious to have to open each line and check if their is an attachment.

Aged receivables summary - Add due date
Could we please add the 'Due Date' option to the Aged Receivables Summary Report. I love the simplicity of this report versus the Detailed report but unlike the detailed report, there is no option to add the due date.
1 voteThanks for the feedback, Jodi. When you say you'd like to add the Due date I'm guessing this would be as a column to the report? One thing that would make this tricky is where you have multiple due dates for a customer with multiple invoices in the period the reports being run - what date would you expect to show here?

NZ GST - Export return with heading 'GST return' + period of the return
GST Return Export
It is annoying that the new GST return layout does not export the essential fact that it is a GST return and the period. The new GST return now just exports the business name and the end of period date.
It needs to have the words "GST Return" or similar.

Aged receivables - Add tax columns
Reports - Aged Receivables: I would like to be able to include the VAT rate/VAT rate name as a column in the aged receivables detailed report to avoid manually checking each invoice in the list
1 voteNot possible with the aged reports, but perhaps the Receivable Invoice Detail report could be just as useful, Luke?
You'll find you can add the tax columns you're after, and there's lots of flexibility to set this report up in the way you need to only view certain transactions (such as those awaiting payment)

Business performance - Negative + negative resulting in incorrect profit
Mathematically a negative x a negative = a positive. But when this is gross profit @ 312%, it does not represent the business financial position.
1 voteHi Charlotte, sorry we haven't responded to your idea sooner. Appreciate your screenshot and raising this with us. I'd recommend this is something our Xero Support team take a deeper look into with you. If you can raise a case with them through Xero Central they have tools to be able to escalate this with our product team if not working as it should.

Invoice report - Ability to view adjustments to tax
Would like to be able to find and recode transactions in bulk or have a report somehwere, where we can search the "include Adjustment to Tax" amount on any transactions. There is currently no way to find transactions that have this and to correct we have to find the batch payment, undo, edit the invoice, approve and re-batch. Not ideal.

Trust Account Management - South Africa Legal
South African Law is in desperate need of a simple Xero based Trust Account Management system.
Xero is so easy to use for the Business transactions, a similarly user friendly option for Trust Account Management would be a dream.

REPORTS - Ability to rename columns
I generate a custom report for Project Timesheets and I would like to be able to rename the columns as sometimes we use slightly different terminology or we use the tasks in a slightly different way to work around limitations.
e.g "Resource" instead of "Staff", "Role" instead of "Task".
For some projects we enter a week's worth of time entries at a time, so they are dated at the end of the week, so I would like to change the column to "Week ending" instead of "Date".

Xero Adviser Financials - Farming | have multiple P & L's for different farms/orchards in group
For large farms/orchards or multiple businesses in the group, needing a P & L each for each Farm and Orchard. Then a combined statement P & L bringing all the totals together with the group overhead expenses. Currently have to do separate custom reports in Xero then paste in, would be good to have it all formated in one spot not doing multiple reports and copying and pasting. Currently using another accounting software provider to do the financials and only using Xero to collect the date, would be good to have it all in one spot
1 voteHi Tracey, appreciate it's been sometime since you initially raised your idea here. Not getting any community support this will soon be removed from the forums. However, taking a read through it may be worth looking into Tracking to see if this feature could be useful to track expenses for each orchard/farm. The P&L could then be set up to provide columns of the expenses and revenue for each orchard comparably. Thanks
