AU Tax – Detailed tax estimate page in PDF (income, deductions, offsets)
Add the estimates section when downloading a copy of the Tax Return, to a full breakdown of the assessable income & tax owed. Usually I use pg 4 on a downloaded copy of a TR, but it does include a values in that section. it would be best to have a detailed summary that fits in 1-2 pages.
1 voteHi Patrick, thanks for sharing this idea and for clearly outlining how a more detailed breakdown of assessable income, deductions, offsets, and tax owed in the downloaded Tax Return would fit into your workflow.
We’ve moved this idea into Gaining support. It’s now open for the wider community to add votes and comments, which helps us understand how useful this change would be across different practices. If others see value in this, they’re welcome to share how they’d use it.

Xero Tax (AU) - Remove PP/NPP filtering for Asset, Liability, and Equity labels
When Importing from Xero to Xero Tax (AU), there is a filter button to filter only PP or NPP labels (or Both).
These are only relevant to Revenue and Expenses account types (and tax return labels).
When I click PP or NPP and then move onto Assets/Liabilities/Equity, no Tax Return Labels show up in the drop down (because Xero Tax filters them out).
Xero Tax SHOULD NOT filter out labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity. There is no benefit and no efficiency for this behaviour. Xero Tax should return ALL labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity whenever PP or NPP (or Both) is selected.

UK Tax - Importing Rental Income to Xero Tax
Following the introduction to MTD for ITSA, we will be reporting a number of clients rental income to HMRC using Xero, which we previously did not. As a result of MTD for ITSA we will be preparing more Tax Returns using Xero Tax.
It is currently not possible to import rental income & expenses, from a client's Xero account directly to Xero Tax (where as you can for sole trade businesses). Unfortunately these figures need to be typed in manually.
Would it be possible to add this feature into Xero Tax?
1 voteThanks for sharing your idea of importing rental income into the personal tax return.
We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.
It is worth noting that our MTD for IT functionality will include the option to include rental income/expenses and will utilise tracking categories to do this.

BAS - Include unfiled amounts when producing custom date reports for BAS audit purposes.
I currently can't export the quarterly activitiy statement due to too many transactions so produce monthly reports via custom date reports, however there is no option here to include unfiled amounts and therefore the reports are not matching the quarterly statement amount.
1 voteAppreciate your idea about BAS reporting, Michelle! It’s great to hear how including unfiled amounts in custom date reports could help with your audit workflow.
We’ve moved your idea to Gaining support, so it’s now open for the community to vote on and discuss. The more you can tell us about how this would fit into your workflow, the easier it is for others to see why it matters and for the product team to understand the impact.
Thanks again for getting the conversation started.

Invoice – Unique payment reference field for Reconciliation
Dear Xero,
Please!.. Ideally, accurate references on all source documents should be able to link them to their Payment transactions in Xero. However, it can be extremely difficult and time-consuming - especially with Spend/Receive Money transactions.
It would be incredibly helpful for a column of 'Link ID's' to be displayed on all detailed reports.
Doesn't need to be fancy, just a Unique ID.
This link ID would need to be automatically generated by Xero, and, have the ability to change dynamically in the case a payment is removed (as one of many examples).
It would help to see the account…
1 voteHi Callum, appreciate you highlighting how a unique payment reference field could support reconciliation workflows. Your suggestion about displaying Link IDs on detailed reports to track account movements is a valuable feedback.
This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage other members who would find this helpful to add their votes and share their experiences.
In the meantime, a practical workaround is to use the “Reference” field consistently. When creating invoices, include a unique reference code for the payment (for example, PAY-1001), and when receiving payments, enter the same reference in the “Reference” field. This ensures that the data will appear in the Reference column in both the Receivable Invoice report and the Account Transactions report when run for the relevant bank account, making it easier to track and reconcile payments.
We’ll update this thread when the…

Dividends and distributions - Automated transaction type to Equity and Assets
It would save time and avoid accounting errors if a new document type existed (akin to Bills) that can be sent to recipients (contacts) generating the accounting transactions appropriate for distributions such as dividends and appointments from trusts. Those transactions would be on equity and assets accounts (not expense accounts and accounts payable as is the case for Bills).
It would be great if such processing could be applied to contacts in bulk (e.g. a shareholders register) but the possibility of accounting for distributions singly would be a good start.
I am a trustee and the usual distributions are cash…

Report Templates - Ability to edit report codes from Chart of Accounts, not separate area.
Report Codes ability to edit from Chart of Accounts, not separate area. I see that you have marked previous suggestions as completed, because you've added a button. It isn't a button we are seeking, it is the ability to edit directly within COA, rather than having to go elsewhere. The elsewhere is still a useful tool to help identify when clients have added their own codes, but from a click minimisation perspective why not have COA and Report Codes integrated, and provide us with a field to add our nominated report code.
1 voteHi Justine, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how integrating report code editing directly into the Chart of Accounts could streamline your workflow. After reviewing this with our product team, we're updating the status to 'Not in pipeline', which means it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap. The idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to gauge community interest. We value your feedback and encourage you to keep sharing your thoughts with us.

Report Templates - Codes for notes disclosure
Report codes for notes disclosure - I use chart of accounts for notes disclosures, rather than relying on remembing to manually edit numbers within notes. It would be helpful if there could be a category we could choose under Equity which was for Notes Disclosure or Non-Reporting. The entries always contra, so it would be helpful to not have to edit the report layout for each additional new code.
1 voteThanks Justine, for your suggestion and for explaining how you’re using report templates and codes for notes disclosures.
We’ve reviewed this idea with the product team and it’s not something we’re planning to develop right now, so we’ve marked it as Not in pipeline. While this won’t move ahead, we’re continuing work in related areas like Trusted Notes and code‑driven reporting, and we’ll keep monitoring interest in this space for future planning.

Income by Contact report - Extend chart
Would be great to run this report but be able to show Top 20 or 30 clients rather than just Top 10.
1 voteHi Brenda, just to confirm is it within the graph that you're wanting to increase the # of top customers?
Currently, if you run the Income by Contact report with Chart & table the chart will only show the top 10 but the table will give you an ordered list for all contacts that you received income from in the period.

Reporting - Add NDIS Funding Period Tracking in Xero
With the rollout of the NDIA’s new PACE system, NDIS participant plans now include funding periods (e.g. monthly or quarterly). Providers and plan managers must track and claim within these timeframes, but Xero currently doesn’t support this.
Adding a Funding Period Tracking feature would let users:
Set funding period start/end dates per participant or support category
Track and report spend per period
Receive alerts for overspend or expiring funds
Validate invoices against active funding periods
This would help thousands of NDIS providers maintain compliance, reduce manual tracking, and strengthen Xero’s value in the disability sector.

Reporting - Display Custom Report Names in Report Packs
When I create a new Report Pack, I can name it. When I add a custom report, that report shows as the Xero Standard Report Name, not as my Custom Report Name. Please can the Custom Report Name be shown, rather than the Xero Standard Report Name. If I add two different Custom Reports (both based on the Xero Standard Report), I don't know which is which.

NZ GST - Consistent approach to display transactions
The "GST on expenses" and "no GST" sections of the GST report have contradicting signage - e.g.: expenses are a positive when there is GST but a negative when its under the "no GST" section. Can we keep it consistent in the report as its confusing to read/review.
1 voteThanks for sharing your feedback on the GST report formatting and how the current approach can cause confusion when reviewing the transactions.

Reporting | PDF Preview - Enhance scroll and zoom behaviour
The PDF preview pane is fantastic... except a page can be lengthy and it doesn't let you scroll on it.
If I hover my cursor on the PDF preview and scroll (using the scroll wheel of my mouse), it zooms. I almost never need to zoom on it. If I needed to Zoom I would hold control and scroll, like I would on any other browser page.
I have to move my cursor to this skinny panel either side of the page to be able to scroll, or grab the skinny scroll bar (to the right, not the left).

Reporting - Allow monthly figures to be time-adjusted based on reporting period in custom reports ratios
In my custom income statement, I'd like to create a calculation for a debt service coverage ratio. However, I don't there's a way to set a P&I payment as "per month" in the custom features. Is there a feature to set a formula that adjusts my debt service based on the number of months the income statement covers? (E.g. monthly P&I is $5,000 per month. So a 6-month year-to-date statement would adjust P&I to be $30,000 on my printed report).

Reports/Tracking - Add filter to P&L Comparison to hide zero balance tracking columns (projects)
When comparing the Profit & Loss by projects, it would be very helpful to have an option such as “Hide zero balance projects” after selecting all projects. Currently, when we select all projects (we have more than 100), the report also shows those with zero balances (no transactions). This makes the report slower to display and download, and we have to manually remove those projects afterwards. Would it be possible to add such a feature to improve efficiency and reporting usability?

Reporting - Suggestion for matching/filtering Balance Sheet items to show 'open' amounts
Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet
Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

Reporting - Add a 'Today' filter option to reports
We would like to automatically transfer daily sales data (excluding GST) from Xero into our custom system. However, the current sales reporting options in Xero do not allow us to select a “Today” filter.
At present, we have to manually set the date each day to get the daily sales amount, which makes automation difficult and time-consuming.
Idea / Request:
Please add a “Today” filter option (similar to existing options like “This Month” or “Last Month”) so that businesses can easily pull daily sales data without manual date entry. This would:
Enable easier automation with integrations and custom systems
