  1. I'm currently doing superannuation for a client, having finalised their last payrun for the month. I've got the superannuation accruals report up on screen, so I can match that to what I'm paying, and to the bill in which I allocate each employee and direct contractor's super to the project they're working on.

    Hi Freya thanks for your feedback on this UI. I can see that the report(s) does not automatically scale it to the size of the window. We've moved this idea to gain more support and will monitor this for more traction.

  2. Can we have the ability to run a P&L report using the original transaction values rather than calculated values based on the exchange rate that's been set. For example, my base currency is GBP but we need to report the P&L for a division in Spain in Euros based on actual cash figures. The multi-currency P&L report in Xero allows me to select to produce the report in Euros but for some reason it calculates all the figures based on the fixed exchange rate that has been entered rather than using the original / actual Euro transaction figures entered.   4. We need to be able to edit the start and end dates on an ITR to accommodate clients with a substituted accounting period. For companies and trusts, this is manageable because Xero allows the period start and end dates to be edited to reflect the SAP, but the same functionality doesn't exist for Individuals Tax Returns.

  5. When preparing a personal tax return it would be great if there was as option to attach files in each section. So we can attach things like bank interest statement, P60, P11d, dividend vouchers, state pension, personal pension etc.

  6. When you run an account transaction report, for a balance sheet item, the opening balance always appears in the date column. It would be helpful if Xero could recode this so that the date column is balance date + 1, and the words "opening balance" appear in the source column. The advantage of this is that when you go to use the data, and put in a filter, you don't have to edit this.

  7. Ability to be able to override and enter manual figures in a partnership tax return. This is currently causing me a lot of issues as i now have to upload via other software.

  9. Aged Receivables/Payables Summary report to include invoice numbers by default, which is commonly available in other accounting softwares. It is crucial to know the number of invoices and unique invoice reference number for ease of reference when reviewing ageing.

  10. There are a number of things bugging me regarding the essential task of reconciling bank accounts. The Bank Reconciliation Reports are easy enough to create, but after that it all goes wrong. Nobody seems to have thought about what happens to them after the 'Publish' button is pressed! Here's what I think - and please please please vote for this or nothing will change.

    1) I would like to see bank reconciliation reports having their own dedicated space. They are currently hidden away in Reports>Published, mixed up with all the other published reports. Please create a new Bank Reconciliation Reports…

  11. When pulling a Contacts report (expense by vendor, cash payments made to vendors, etc) out of Xero, please add the ability to "turn on" more fields from Contacts. For 1099 purposes, it's crucial to see "business entity" selections and "DBA names" (IRS-registered business name) when preparing the 1099 report. I know you can see this info within the 1099 report, but looking at one contact at a time is not efficient.

  12. Can a total be added under the amount on this report.
    If a total was available, I wouldn't need to export to excel simply to add a total before sharing the report.

    Ideally, the total would also apply to groups on the report, ie, total by employee and total for all employees.

    Thanks for letting us know you'd like the Transaction Listing Details Report to have a total per Employee and or Group when you filter the report by Group.

    As you've found, the report will only show itemised values. One work around would be to export the report to Excel or Google sheets and add a summary total manually. We'd also suggest taking a look at the Transaction Listing Summary Report.

  13. Add the estimates section when downloading a copy of the Tax Return, to a full breakdown of the assessable income & tax owed. Usually I use pg 4 on a downloaded copy of a TR, but it does include a values in that section. it would be best to have a detailed summary that fits in 1-2 pages.

    Hi Patrick, thanks for sharing this idea and for clearly outlining how a more detailed breakdown of assessable income, deductions, offsets, and tax owed in the downloaded Tax Return would fit into your workflow.

    We’ve moved this idea into Gaining support. It’s now open for the wider community to add votes and comments, which helps us understand how useful this change would be across different practices. If others see value in this, they’re welcome to share how they’d use it.

  14. When Importing from Xero to Xero Tax (AU), there is a filter button to filter only PP or NPP labels (or Both).

    These are only relevant to Revenue and Expenses account types (and tax return labels).

    When I click PP or NPP and then move onto Assets/Liabilities/Equity, no Tax Return Labels show up in the drop down (because Xero Tax filters them out).

    Xero Tax SHOULD NOT filter out labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity. There is no benefit and no efficiency for this behaviour. Xero Tax should return ALL labels for Assets/Liabilities/Equity whenever PP or NPP (or Both) is selected.

  15. Following the introduction to MTD for ITSA, we will be reporting a number of clients rental income to HMRC using Xero, which we previously did not. As a result of MTD for ITSA we will be preparing more Tax Returns using Xero Tax.

    It is currently not possible to import rental income & expenses, from a client's Xero account directly to Xero Tax (where as you can for sole trade businesses). Unfortunately these figures need to be typed in manually.

    Would it be possible to add this feature into Xero Tax?

  16. I currently can't export the quarterly activitiy statement due to too many transactions so produce monthly reports via custom date reports, however there is no option here to include unfiled amounts and therefore the reports are not matching the quarterly statement amount.

    Please!.. Ideally, accurate references on all source documents should be able to link them to their Payment transactions in Xero. However, it can be extremely difficult and time-consuming - especially with Spend/Receive Money transactions.

    It would be incredibly helpful for a column of 'Link ID's' to be displayed on all detailed reports.

    Doesn't need to be fancy, just a Unique ID.

    This link ID would need to be automatically generated by Xero, and, have the ability to change dynamically in the case a payment is removed (as one of many examples).

    Hi Callum, appreciate you highlighting how a unique payment reference field could support reconciliation workflows. Your suggestion about displaying Link IDs on detailed reports to track account movements is a valuable feedback.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage other members who would find this helpful to add their votes and share their experiences.

    In the meantime, a practical workaround is to use the “Reference” field consistently. When creating invoices, include a unique reference code for the payment (for example, PAY-1001), and when receiving payments, enter the same reference in the “Reference” field. This ensures that the data will appear in the Reference column in both the Receivable Invoice report and the Account Transactions report when run for the relevant bank account, making it easier to track and reconcile payments.

  18. Report codes for notes disclosure - I use chart of accounts for notes disclosures, rather than relying on remembing to manually edit numbers within notes. It would be helpful if there could be a category we could choose under Equity which was for Notes Disclosure or Non-Reporting. The entries always contra, so it would be helpful to not have to edit the report layout for each additional new code.

    We’ve reviewed this idea with the product team and it’s not something we’re planning to develop right now, so we’ve marked it as Not in pipeline. While this won’t move ahead, we’re continuing work in related areas like Trusted Notes and code‑driven reporting, and we’ll keep monitoring interest in this space for future planning.

    Hi Brenda, just to confirm is it within the graph that you're wanting to increase the # of top customers?

    Currently, if you run the Income by Contact report with Chart & table the chart will only show the top 10 but the table will give you an ordered list for all contacts that you received income from in the period.
