  2. Open the API for expenses so they can be approved via workflows in the same ways as you have for invoices and bills.

  3. Please can Xero improve the dashboard notifications regarding VAT returns so that it shows that the VAT return has been submitted. This would avoid me having heart failure when I log in and see the information below! Our VAT is collected by direct debit, so I know if it is submitted, its HMRC direct debit taking its time, and not my mistake!

  4. Please can you include an option to be able to view the budget further than the previous 12 months. I am trying to compare my full FY 2025, year-end 31 December 2025 to my full year's actual to report to our Board of Directors. Currently the Budget Manager in Xero only allows you to go back 12 months from the current date. I am therefore unable to generate the report required by my Board.

  5. According to HMRC there can be an adjustment to the first MTD IT return, so that the submissions are based on calendar quarters, rather than the existing standard ones. This would help align the submissions to VAT periods and documents received/bookkeeping done. So for example, the first period would be 1st April to 30th June, instead of 6th April to 5th July 2026. I understand this may only affect businesses with a year end of 31st March.
    Currently, Xero doesn't support this (confirmed 09.02.26).
    Is this needed or is there a work around?

  6. Some better intelligent regarding a switch over from Accrual to cash so Xero can identify when invoices are raised- whether post of pre switch over. This would prevent the duplication of VAT on returns.

  7. I would like to produce an Aged Receivable custom report that includes the NZBN number which is held in a contact file. While I can manually pull two reports and manipulate them in Excel, there is always room for error doing it this way.

  8. A way of converting quotes accepted into order acknowledgements and / or delivery notes before creating the Invoice would be helpful. I use a work around with templates, but it shows prices which you don't really need or want on delivery notes and the attachment PDF is still labelled as a quote.

  9. Our request is to extend existing automated VAT forecasts into Cash Flow Manager.

    Xero's Short-term Cash Flow tool automatically inputs quarterly VAT payments, but only forecasts 90 days ahead. Cash Flow Manager, which gives a 6 month forecast, requires manual entry of VAT payments.

    For VAT-registered businesses, quarterly payments are some of our largest cash outflows -yet we must manually add them every quarter to maintain accurate medium-term forecasts. This wastes time and risks overlooking significant payments.

Hi, i think for a team who have targets each week, it would be good to have a report that is a bar graph with the income so far that day, week, month with a line across the bars coming up with a line for average and one for target. The only report that comes cross i could find gave to much info as this is for our admin/coordinators and they dont have access to all the financials they only need the income for the day/week and see if they have met the target.

  11. Having a rolling last-30/60/90 day P&L option.

    This is present on Quickbooks and is frankly surprising that Xero doesn't have it.

    I want to be able to check the dashboard mid month and see how the last 30 days have been. This isn't possible without manually inputting the dates.

  12. On the 'to file' tab when you click into a client's tax return there's a blue button that says 'File' right next to the three dots that you would click to suspend a return. I believe this is too easy to accidently click and can lead to tax returns being lodged on accident. If there was a pop up that says something like 'Would you like to lodge now' that would be a good safeguard.

  13. It would be convenient if the dropdown for future months extended further than one future fiscal year. This can be circumvented by entering the second next fiscal year budget using the next fiscal year's months, and copying it to the correct months at year-end, when the next year's month become available, but this creates unnecessary additional work at year-end.

  15. Ability to add manual notes to Aged Receivables report. Currently we have to export the aged receivables report to excel to keep a log of the latest feedback/updates regarding overdue debtors. By adding manual comments directly on Xero, all users will have access to the latest feedback/follow up comments on overdue debtors. This will increase efficiency and ensure better control of our bad debts.

  16. Not an idea, just something I noticed. We had a vendor with a "spend money" and a "receive money" for the same amount. When filing the 1099s, it did not account for the "receive money" and would have overstated the 1099 by $5,300.

  17. For instance, the total for all journal entries is zero, so it would never come up in an amount search result. It would be nice to be able to determine whether a specific issue has already been handled, or if a transaction had been booked if you only know one of the amounts but not the total. This would save a great deal of time.

  18. Reports with custom periods currently have their dates 'shifted' every month, which shouldn't happen, as they do not use relative dates (they should be fixed, at least by default). This is either a bug or bad design.

  19. When exporting time entry data from Xero Projects, there is an option to export time entries in decimal format. However, the export still outputs time in hours and minutes (hh:mm) rather than in decimal hours. This makes it difficult to perform calculations in Excel, as SUM formulas do not work correctly with the exported data. And the SUM functions that appear in the Excel and Google Sheets exports do not work.

    I would expect that selecting the decimal export option would provide time entries in decimal format (e.g., 1.5 hours instead of 1:30), but this is not happening. It should…

  20. We would like to request that the Sales Tax report for each invoice be shown as a single total amount in one bill, without itemizing the individual items in the Sales Tax report.

    This format will help us track and reconcile invoices more easily. When the Sales Tax is itemized, it becomes difficult for us to monitor and match the invoices accurately.
