    Hi community, thanks for your interest in this idea. Just wanted to pop in here to share, for those who aren't already aware, that you can export the Receivable Invoice Summary report. The report has a 'Last Payment Date' column that you can add to it which is useful for finding customers who habitually pay late so that you can take appropriate action.

    To be transparent, building a feature to show the average days to pay by customer isn't on our roadmap at this time, but we'll be sure to update this idea if that changes in future.

  2. Ability to choose either portrait or landscape for aged payable/receivable report layout.

    Purpose: To make the layout look more consistent between these two reports.

    Hi everyone, understand the confusion in some of the recent comments here. To explain how this works at present - A report will automatically default to portrait or landscape mode based on the width of the report. The more columns you add, Xero will automatically switch the layout from portrait to landscape mode.

    The same report should not change from user to user, if you're finding this it may be worth checking your printer fit settings and if these differ.

    We don't have plans for developing an option of whether a report prints in landscape or portrait mode atm, but our teams are across the interest of this, so if there's any change we'll share an update on this with you, here.

  5. Under current simplified depreciation rules, small businesses deduct the balance of the small business pool at the end of the income year if the balance at that time (before applying the depreciation deductions) is less than the instant asset write-off threshold.

    Currently Xero's pool does not apply this rule & continues depreciating at 30%. It would be great to have a product update so the correct application of current tax rules applys to the pooling system in Xero.

    Our Fixed Asset product team are working on upgrades to Fixed Assets platform and updating technology - Read more on this broader work on Xero Central

    We understand how having an automated control to recognise and apply a write-off for general pooled assets where the balance is beneath the threshold would be useful, this is not in our roadmap right now.

    That said, they have a close eye on ideas for Fixed Assets for when the time's right - we'll share any change on the idea, here.

  6. Having an Indirect Method report to be available as a standard report.

    Purpose: Using this report is easier for users’ who don't have feeds activated in their Xero org.

  7. allow quantities to be added direclty to the ledger and then to feed into reporting templates. manualy entered reporting data is fraught with danger and history is lost from year to year, which means we are replugging data every year...current "semi-automated" practice doesnt seem to fit with xero ethos

  8. Separate the INCOME TAX EXPENSE from the normal operating expenses in the Profit & Loss Statement. for example:
    - Net Profit Before Tax
    - INCOME TAX EXPENSE
    - Net Profit After Tax
    This is the basics of accounting apps.

  9. It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.

    At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

  10. To allow multiple Fixed Asset Changes to be made at once and also selecting multiple Assets to Register at once.

    Purpose: To save users time. Especially when dealing with large Asset Registers and users have to edit it one by one.

    Hi everyone, right now the only way to edit a cover page in Xero is when you're publishing the report template. 

    Then you can change the Title, Date and Prepared by options. To further change the cover page, you can export the report template to a PDF file and customise it using a PDF editor. This would also be an option for editing the page numbers


    We made some changes in Report styles for our new reports in 2021, though this is only for practice users - They now have the option to choose from four font sizes, and can add a text watermark to exported draft and published reports. 


    We don't have plans to develop this functionality further in Xero atm, but we'll keep you updated if our plans change.

  14. Ability to change the file name when exporting reports

    When exporting reports, it defaults to Company name_Report Name.pdf. We have a format of naming files in our business which does not match the default format. It would be simpler to be able to change the default file exporting system so that it more closely fits our standards, saving time. This could be added into the company settings. Options include: Report should say: Text [placeholder] Text [placeholder], and "include or exclude underscore".
    Options for placeholders include date printed, company name, report name, etc.

    Thanks for sharing and engaging with product ideas here. We appreciate the desire to run more reports in Xero in a different currency.

    To confirm what is currently available in Xero for multi currency reporting - Right now the aged reports will run in the organisation's base currency. However, for any invoice or bill that has been created in a foreign currency you'll see an icon next to that line in your report which provides notation of the exchange rate details, and these will all be listed at the bottom of the report.

    With the Payable and Receivable summary and detail reports you can add an 'Original currency' column along with other foreign exchange details.

    It's also possible to add a filter to these reports to only show invoices of a particular status for example Awaiting payment.

    I know this doesn't accomplish all that's being asked in this idea and…

  17. Add CIS Deduction value to the Aged Receivables and Aged Payables reports. In the same way Outstanding VAT value is an option to include in the reports, also include CIS Deduction.

  18. When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.

  19. Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts, perhaps with a tick box to show or hide the archived accounts. It makes the job of customising layouts so tedious when the old messy chart of accounts come up every time and you can’t hide the archived accounts!
