Fixed Asset - Partial disposal of an asset
Would be good to have a function within fixed asset register that allows to part dispose of an asset and to revalue.
440 votesHey team, thanks for all your input on partial asset disposal.
We understand that manually managing parts of an asset can be time-consuming. While we don't have plans at this time to develop a built-in feature, your feedback's really helpful in showing us where things could improve.
For now, manual methods to calculate depreciation and record journal entries to keep things accurate would be the best option.
However, this is a feature that we'd like to revisit as we plan our future roadmaps, and will be happy to share if there is any traction around this. Please keep sharing this idea with any colleagues you feel could benefit from this too.

Manual Journals - Journal in foreign currency and see FX rate on journal
Ability to process a manual journal in foreign currency and to pull the exchange rate on the date of the journal.
Purpose: It’s beneficial for organisations who are dealing and operate with multiple currencies
409 votesHi everyone, thanks for all your feedback and highlighting the need for multi-currency manual journals, and being able to see the FX rate directly in the journal.
We understand the needs in this space have close ties with this idea for being able to journal to bank accounts, and this is something we have intentions of doing deeper discovery around in the longer term. However, we want to be upfront that this work isn't roadmapped right now.
Though we appreciate not the straight forward approach that you’re after here - currently you can create the journal via a bill in the relevant foreign currency. Entering positive and negative lines for the debit and credit entries, which results in a 0.00 bill total once approved. The bill lines are converted to your organisation’s base currency using the bill’s FX rate, and the transaction won’t revalue.
As soon as there's movement…

Reporting: Customer Payment Performance - payment date and number of days late
Ability to generate a report where users’ can view contact payment activity
Purpose: Users’ can easily see which customer has good and bad credit performance, and manage customer relationships & debt.
357 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the continued trend in support through this idea, and feedback to my last update. We recognise how valuable it is to have clear visibility of your customer payment performance, so you can quickly review payment dates and days late across customers without needing to check each contact individually.
We want to share that we’re currently working on reports to give businesses better visibility of payment performance, with our initial focus on the supplier side through a new 'Supplier days to pay detail' report showing historical payment behaviour across suppliers.
Once that’s rolled out, we’ll begin work on additional reports for the Sales side with customer payment performance.
I’ll return to share as work on customer reporting is picked up and progresses. Thanks

Reporting - Ability to consolidate multiple Xero organisations
To have the ability to combine the reporting between more than one Xero org.
Purpose: Better at group budgeting and account managements
278 votesHi everyone, we know that consolidated reporting for multiple Xero organisations is a feature many of you are invested in, and we appreciate you continuing to share your feedback and insights on this idea.
We hear that you need a more streamlined way to manage group budgeting, produce consolidated Profit and Loss reports, and handle intercompany transactions without the need for manual exports and external spreadsheets.
For those looking for solutions right now - As shared by others there are Xero app partners that possibly serve these and wider needs, and you can explore on our Xero App store.
We want to be transparent about the current state of this idea. While we continuously evaluate all ideas, work on developing consolidated reporting is not currently planned.
We know this isn't the news many of you hoped for, especially given how long this idea has been on the platform. We value…

Reporting | Budget Manager - Customise report layout
Ability to customise a budget manager layout.
Purpose: To make users able to get their preferred figures appear in the budget manager report.
230 votesHi community, thanks for your support and engagement on this idea. We acknowledge your desire for enhancements in how you can Budget and forecast reporting within Xero, and being able to mirror custom Profit & Loss report layouts you've created.
While we understand the needs expressed by you here, we want to be open that we don't have immediate plans for developing this tool.
We're continuing to look ahead and assess the base needs of our customers when it comes to budgeting and working in Xero and will keep you updated of any upcoming developments that could support in your needs here. Thanks for your continued feedback and support through Xero Product ideas.

Reporting: Budget - Add Budgets for Balance Sheet accounts
Ability to add budgets in the balance sheet accounts.
Purpose: It’ll make it easier for users to see the figure when they're budgeting in Xero.
225 votesThanks for keeping the conversation going on this, everyone. It's clear that having the ability to create budgets for Balance Sheet accounts is a really popular idea, and we hear the manual workflows you're having to use when it comes to forecasting.
The go-to option for now (as shared by some in this idea) is to export your data into a spreadsheet to build out your budgeted Balance Sheet and cash flow forecasts.
I know it's not the outcome you're hoping for here, but we want to be upfront about where things stand. Right now, building this feature isn't in our plans. We have to make some tough calls on what to build next, and while this isn't on the current roadmap, the feedback you've all shared here is incredibly valuable for our future planning.
Please keep the ideas and feedback coming to show your support for this idea.

Reporting - Show average Days to Pay by customer
Ability to show average days to pay by customer.
Purpose: User can sort into the customer that habitually pay late and take appropriate action.
223 votesThanks for everyone's feedback and the strong support for a report that shows average days to pay by customer. We know this visibility is important for businesses wanting to identify habitual late payers and make better credit and cash flow decisions.
Right now, we've begun work to develop reports that improve visibility of payment performance. Our immediate focus on the supplier side and a new Supplier days to pay detail report that'll show historical payment behaviour across suppliers.
Once that’s rolled out, we’ll begin work on additional reports for customer payment performance, which will solve the needs in this idea.
I'll be back to update you all here as work for customer reports gets underway. 🙂

Xero HQ - Transfer/copy reports between practices & organisations
Ability to transfer customised reports between practices or other businesses. Currently this is not possible so if a client changes accounting practices then reports do not follow. This is expensive for the client for reports to be redone and totally unnecessary given that all the formatting necessary already exists on another system.
219 votesHi community, thanks for all the energy and great conversation on this idea. We recognise the passion for making reporting in Xero better for your needs.
Wee understand that rebuilding report templates for each individual client or entity is time-consuming, and the current option of using Report Templates in Xero HQ mapping of the chart of accounts can be tricky to apply to different client files. However, we want to front foot that enabling the ability to transfer reports across practices or organisations isn't planned in the near term.
We'll continue to review and consider this idea in the longer term and if this work is picked up will be more than happy to share an update with you all, here.

Contact report / export - Including credit limits and terms
Report listing all customers including contact details, credit terms and credit limits
131 votesThank you for the engagement on this idea. We’ve listened closely, and know that being able to export full customer credit information including credit limits and associated credit terms would be a highly beneficial feature for you all that've voted.
As mentioned in our previous update the Aged Receivables Summary report does provide some of the information requested, however we understand that this may not fully meet all your needs.
Our Product team has reviewed this idea and we're updating the status to ‘Accepted’. This is an idea we’d like to develop, but isn’t currently on the roadmap. Please continue to add your comments and votes and if anything changes, we’ll make sure to post an update here.

VAT late claims report
Hi,
Something that would be very helpful as an accountant, is the ability to run a report for a given date which shows all the transactions where the VAT was claimed/paid on a later return. I know that the VAT reconciliation report doesn't work with MTD.
Happy to discuss to help with this.119 votesHi everyone, we appreciate why you’d like a report that provides visibility of VAT late claims to streamline your reconciliation processes, especially around year-end and for monthly VAT returns.
Currently, it's possible to use the Account Transactions report to manually reconcile against filed VAT returns, although we get the desire for a more automated solution.
This isn’t on the team’s roadmap at present, however this is something we'll continue to consider how we accommodate these needs in future planning for tax reports in Xero. I'll be sure to let you know if there is any movement to share, here.

Reports - Adjust column width
Would be useful to be able to narrow column width, especially when decimals are removed and more months are required on 1 page. Similar to Excel, where we can change width and height of rows or columns.
105 votesThank you for all your support on this idea and for sharing how the option to adjust the column width on your reports would be beneficial. We understand that in some reports the inability to adjust the column size could result in extra white space or longer entries not being fully displayed.
This idea has been reviewed by the Product team and has been moved to the ‘Accepted’ status. This reflects that this idea is not currently on our roadmap but it is a suggestion we will continue to monitor when looking at how we develop our reports.

Reports - Accounts display in GL account number order on reports
The ability to have accounts display in GL account number order on reports. It boggles the mind that this is not an option already!
96 votesHi everyone, thanks for the engagement and support on this idea. We recognise that having the option to display accounts in GL account number order when editing a reports layout would reduce the need to manually adjust the order of accounts.
We've reviewed your feedback, including the specific issues with grouping, and are moving this idea to Accepted. This reflects that the idea has not been included in our current roadmap but that this is an idea that we will continue to monitor.

BAS (AU) - Monthly PAYG Income tax instalment
Xero doesn't currently have the option for reporting PAYG Income Tax Instalment on a monthly basis. Could Xero look into providing this option in the monthly BAS Activity Statement reporting.
93 votesHi community, we really value all feedback that has been shared through this idea to help our product teams understanding of the needs here.
Enabling this capability has been closely considered and we understand the importance of this feature for customers that make monthly PAYG income tax instalments.
However, we want to be upfront that this work has not been roadmapped yet.
This will continue to be a feature raised in our product teams regular planning sessions and I'll be sure to share if there are any updates on this, here. Thanks

Depreciation schedule - Identify assets that have had investment boost applied
It would be great if there could be an investment boost report that could be printed out to help isolate what assets have had this boost applied so the new IR10 requirement can be easily reported on. Or even if that column could be added to the existing Fixed Asset report to add in.
IR10 requirement - Businesses must now record the total value of assets they have claimed Investment Boost for in Box 60 ‘Total value of Investment Boost asset(s) being claimed’.
85 votesHi team, we appreciate the interest surrounding this idea and how having the ability to identify assets that investment boost has been applied to would be useful from the Depreciation schedule.
Right now, IR10 in NZ tax will import Investment Boost directly from Fixed Assets if there is an organisation.
Being upfront, adding this to reports within an organisation isn't currently on our roadmap, but we understand how this would be useful in this reporting and will continue to consider this in future product planning. I'll share if there are any updates for you here.

Notification | Email reminder for VAT submission deadline
Given that the HMRC reminders are non-customisable, sporadic and could be taken away at any time, could we please develop email reminders for VAT submission deadlines in Xero?
80 votesThanks for sharing this feedback. We agree that email notifications for upcoming VAT return deadlines would be useful, and we do plan to address this in the future. However, we’re unable to provide a timeframe for when this will be available at this stage.
In the meantime, the VAT homepage widget shows your next return due date, along with a countdown showing the number of days remaining until the deadline.
If you’re a Partner, you can also use Tax manager to view a list of your clients’ upcoming VAT obligations in one place, including their due dates.
We appreciate you taking the time to share this suggestion with us. 🌟

Reporting - Option to remove the Date from the Footer of all reports
The print date that now appears at the bottom of reports is useful for some reports and circumstances, and I understand this date is now turned off for Published Reports.
However we do not 'publish' our financial statements - we send our financial statements to clients in a practical and informative pack instead. This is a more efficient, professional and streamlined approach for us.
Showing the print date on these financial statements is of concern, due to various issues including the lag time between preparing and approving the report. It is also not ideal when preparing the directors resolution and…
77 votesHi team, while this may be something we look to do in the future unfortunately we were not able to move along with the work the team had started exploring here.
We'll move to Accepted for now and if there are any updates I'll be back to share with you all. Thanks and continue to support this idea if it's something you'd like to see.

Reporting - Filter the Profit and Loss by Contact
When exporting the profit and loss transactions it would be amazing for one of the columns to show the Contact in isolation rather than merging the contact and description into one field. This would allow much easier spreadsheet analysis by contact.
66 votesHi everyone, thanks for being a part of the conversation on filtering Profit and Loss reports by contact. We understand how this could make digging into profitability a bit easier.
There is currently the Income & Expenses by Contact report that’ll show where you’ve incurred expenses or received income or funds for each contact. You could also Group or Filter this report by contact with the ability to drill down to the transactions related to each amount.
Alternatively, some people in the discussion have also kindly shared their method which may help others.
Our product team has reviewed this idea, and while this may be a development we consider in the longer term it isn’t roadmapped at this stage. We’ll continue to keep an ear on the ground here and share if there are any updates.

VAT - Partial Exemption Calculation
Ability to have a VAT partial exemption calculation.
Purpose: Because some industries (e.g. charity) have VAT partial exemption, having this ability would save users time in calculating the VAT.
54 votesThanks for sharing this idea. We recognise that native partial-exemption calculations are a known gap in Xero, particularly for businesses that make both taxable and exempt supplies.
We’re moving this idea to Accepted to reflect that. It isn’t currently on our roadmap, but we’ll continue to track interest and consider it as part of our longer-term planning.
In the meantime, partial-exemption adjustments can be calculated manually and entered on the VAT return.

Payable Invoice Details report - Option to display bank details
Need option to display supplier bank details when running the supplier payments bank report. Key for bank approvers to easily verify bank details for supplier payments.
53 votesHi community, thanks for your conversations here. Your feedback highlights how useful it'd be to see supplier bank details directly in the Payable Invoice Details report.
We understand the value greater customisation and a broader range of selectable data would make this report more useful across different payment and approval workflows.
Though this is not in our immediate pipeline right now, we’re taking your feedback on board as we look at how reporting can better support these needs over the long term. We’ll share if there is any progress.
-
VAT group feature - Option to prepare and finalise individual returns for non-MTD VAT organsiations
It would be great to see a feature that was specific to VAT groups so it's an easy experience (rather than importing and exporting figures)
53 votesThanks so much for sharing this idea, and to everyone who’s added their support and feedback here.
We’re moving this idea to Accepted as we can see the value in improving the experience for Group VAT workflows, particularly where customers are currently relying on manual import and export steps.
While this isn’t something we have scheduled right now, it is something we expect to consider as part of future planning. This would require a significant amount of work to build well, which means we’re not able to share a timeframe or delivery details at this stage. We’ll keep this idea updated as things progress.
Thanks again for helping us highlight the need here 🙂
