Reports - Add quantity column to reports
It isn't possible to add a quantity column to a report, nor is it possible to pull through Qty data entered in Xero or create a cell the Qty can be manually typed into.
You can add a note column but this would be to link to a section of the report pack, not a quantity loaded into Xero or a box we could manually type the quantity into. Further the notes section functionality is unable to be renamed and can only be linked to other reports in the report pack. It does not work to bring through Qty data.
Lastly, it is not possible to add a column to a single section of a report without adding it to the entire report. Even if there was a Qty column to add, this would add it to every note which we don't want.
Example of where we need the above functionality is the standard investments note in the notes to the financial statements section of annual accounts. This needs to show the Qty of shares held or if the client has term deposits the interest rates.
Hi everyone, thanks for your engagement and support for adding a quantity column to reports in Xero. We understand there are differing reasons around wanting to add quantity to a report, like being able to track fuel for tax credits, livestock numbers, or hours worked for carbon reporting.
There's a specific idea for Livestock reporting that we'd recommend anyone interested in this joins.
To highlight, quantity can be added within the following reports within Xero right now;
- Inventory Item Details - will allow you to view quantity on hand of tracked inventory items
- Inventory Item summary - lets you view quantities purchased and sold for all items, as well as opening closing and adjusted quantities for tracked items
- Sales by Item report - will show you quantities sold for inventory items
- Payable Invoice Details report - will give you quantities purchased for all line items
- Receivable Invoice Details report - will give you quantities sold for all line items
While we appreciate the interest we want to be upfront that we don’t have any plans in the near term to provide the ability to add quantity as a column to other reports in Xero.
Please know we value the feedback and time you've each taken to share with us here. We'll continue to monitor this suggestion for consideration in future improvements.

Quantity Column in Transaction Reports:
So disappointed not to see an option to include a quantity column in transaction reports.I thought the transaction reports would give me all the quanities of fertiliser purchased, the number of sheep sold etc over a year.
This is data needed for completing carbon audits each year.
I have been adding the quantities religiously when inputting data, so I do hope you can find a way of enabling a "Quantity" column option in Transaction Reports.

Reports which have quantity, average price, and total:
Payable invoice details (has every transaction and hard to sort into individual items).
Accounts Transition can be sorted to individual accounts, if they had quantity and individual prices it would be easy to see at a glance, total number descriptions items sold ie tons sand, litres of fuel, easy to breakdown into individual accounts add two columns quantity and individual price to the 9 column from Invoices/bills which can already be added to reports.
Individual item sales/purchases. Total sold not really relevant if you cannot breakdown into fine detail.
This would be helpful for filling in carbon footprint forms ie cu/ton concrete used, litres fuel, fertilzer purchased, feed used, and stock sold etc.

Being able to report on the total price and quantity would allow us to figure out the average price per unit which is required when creating budgets. The information is in the database so why isn't it easily accessible? Please add quantity to the available fields list for reports.
