    Thanks for sharing your idea in the community here, Trevor. We don't have plans for adding Projects to other reports in Xero at present but we'll start to get a sense of the interest for this in your idea here and share if there are any changes.

  2. Small request: Include the cover & contents page by default, please.

    The following is info from a Support webpage... Publish a report from the Drafts tab. In the Accounting menu, select Reports. Select the Drafts tab. Click the menu icon kebab style menu icon to the right of the report you want to publish, then select Publish.

    Thanks again for your idea, John. Appreciate I reviewed this a few months ago, and while we still don't have any plans at this stage it'll be good to get a sense of interest from others here.

  3. A report to see how much each staff member is billing out per month. There are similar reports like the write on/off report but it doesn't seem entirely accurate.

    Hi Eilish, is there are particular way your staff are recording how they bill customers through your Xero organisation atm? - e.g are you using Projects, or Tracking?

    As you noted there maybe a report that we an suggest that'll fully serve your needs in this here.

  4. Historical MTD VAT reports can't be seen after subscription downgrade!

    We have just realised that we have lost access to a client's MTD VAT reports after their Xero subscription was downgraded to ledger after de-registering for VAT and becoming dormant. We can see all their pre 2019 VAT reports under "Filed with HMRC" or "Published" but there is nowhere to view the subsequent MTD returns and the detail behind them. Not great when you are preparing a final set of accounts prior to dormancy.

  5. We would like to see the credit limits included in the Aged Receivables Details, as well as in the Summary. This way, when we are working with detailed reports, it will be easy to see if a customer has exceeded their limit without having to run a separate report.
    The amount could be placed as an extra column on the total amount of each client in the report.

  6. When exporting reports to Excel they are coming in with very narrow row heights. By Default Excel will create a row height 4 points larger than the font. Eg: default font is 11 points and row height is 15 points. If I increase the point size, the row height increases.

    My exported reports have the general data at 9 points but the row height is at 11 points - and I'm constantly having to modify my spreadsheets.

  8. As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.

    It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

  9. Ability to create custom formulas in reporting, specifically to be able to (+) some accounts and (-) others. Support referred to this as custom complex formulas, but it is a simple formula. We just need to be able to customize them.

  10. When reviewing the GST Audit Report we are able to sort by account number, but when printing in PDF it reverts back to date sort order. Can we have an option to print to PDF in account code order.

    Hi everyone, as you may have seen in recent communications - We've rolled out a new and improved New Zealand GST experience.

    While we've made many changes, we want to be open that transactions will only print in date order. This isn't something we have plans for changing in the near future and we'll move the idea to not planned. If our position of this changes at any point we'll be sure to update you of this here. 

  11. When a custom P&L is created it does not update if there is any change in the chart of accounts. For example, if we move a nominal from the P&L to the BS it will still show in the P&L if the custom report was created before the move. This is a major flaw and when raised with Xero we are told to just re-do the custom reports, some of which take a long time to do.

  12. I know this is not critical for the reporting accuracy of Xero within, but it would be a great help to those who extract many times a report from Xero and have multiple clients handling. I hope Xero Support can find ways to be consistent in their naming convention by default. And not overriding names thru Report layouts. Thanks!

    Appreciate sharing your thoughts on date conventions used across reports in Xero, Danmark. While there's standardisation across the way dates are shown across Xero, there can be slight differences based on region, as well as the period being reflected.

    For example all regions excepting US will show date format as Date Month Year, where-as US will be formatted as Month Day, Year.

    When Xero reports for a general period like an entire month or year this is abbreviated to the shortest date format that represents that period e.g June 2025 or 2025 respectively, however when running a report for a singular 'as at' date the entire date is shown such as 13 June 2025.

    While I appreciate it doesn't mean a change to the formatting that you're requesting here, hopefully this sheds light on where date formatting may differ and gives more assurance that there's a structured approach to how…

  13. I would like to suggest adding the capability to generate Sankey diagrams within Xero. Sankey diagrams are highly effective in visualizing the flow of resources, such as money, energy, or data, through different stages or categories. They could be used to illustrate cash flow, revenue distribution, and expense breakdowns in a more intuitive and engaging way.

    By adding Sankey diagrams, Xero could offer users a more dynamic and insightful view of their financial data, helping them better understand how money moves through their business, leading to improved decision-making and reporting.

  14. Quality of Life suggestion:

    At present, typing in a report name into the "Find a Report" search-box will only give you a return if you're in the correct tab (eg. searching from the 'Home' tab will not return any 'Custom' or 'Drafts' reports).

    I suggest that reports from other tabs be included, at least when searching from the 'Home' tab, with an icon/heading to distinguish the tab-origin of the report.

    (I appreciate 'Published' and 'Archived' returns could run into the hundreds, so perhaps a toggle/filter would suffice to omit/include those returns as desired)

    Hi Jonathan, thanks for this fantastic 'quality of life' suggestion. We really appreciate you taking the time to detail not just the idea, but also how it could work in practice.

    We've reviewed your proposal to enhance the "Find a Report" search box so it returns results from all tabs – like 'Custom' and 'Drafts' – not just the one you're currently viewing. We can see how this would make finding the right report much faster.

    Your idea is now open for other members of the community to support and add their thoughts to. Along with votes, others can now comment on how a global search for reports, perhaps with the filters you suggested, would improve their own day-to-day workflow.

  15. Name of user in account transaction list - Would it be possible that the username of the person who edited or created a specific transaction be visible when downloading the account transaction? This is to make it easier to track who updated the information.

  17. I have setup a custom report to generate timesheets for different projects as we need to provide these to customers, along with the invoice.

    Currently, I have to export and then copy and paste and tweak it, to fit into either a PDF or Excel so I can add our company logo and details.

    It would be great if we could add a Header and/or Footer with text and enable the organisation's logo to be displayed when printing to PDF.

    Hi team, while this isn't something we have any direct plans around atm we appreciate the feedback here and will continue to track the support this idea receives. I will be sure to let you know if there are any updates to accommodate this styling of reports in Xero.

  18. As a NFP receiving multiple donations from multiple donors, we require summary of donations/purchases made by the donor/client as a single receipt including each donation/payment's invoice number, date paid, individual amount paid, total amount paid. The summary will need to include the NFP's logo, ABN, etc.

  19. The ATO has announced a Sharing Economy Reporting Regime Report (SERR) where all Sharing Economy businesses also known as 'EDP operator' (electronic distribution platform) also known as "Intermediary" are required to report twice a year. When will this Report be prioritised by Xero?

  20. Is there a way to create a sql report for trial balance or some other form of report that can be downloaded by excel power query? Eg a website link that could be accessed privately by sending and excel query? It gets very tedious repeatedly downloading trial balances again and again.
