Reporting - An invoice detail report to show Billing and Delivery addresses
An invoice report that also incorporates the Billing and Delivery addresses. This is essential if you do consignments such as in freight forwarding and you want to report on a group of customers per the consignment or you want to create a delivery list. The work arround at the moment is to export all invoices and clean the spreadsheet out to exclude what you dont want

Short-term cash flow - Automatically include loan payments or bank transfers
It would be helpful if loan payments and bank account transfers were added automatically.
Adding these manually is time-consuming.

Manual Journals - Ability to post journal entries to bank/cash accounts
Remove the limitation on posting manual journal entries to bank/cash accounts. I end up spending way too much time on manual workarounds (payroll entries for example, you have to use a "bill" to replace the functionality of a journal entry). It ends up taking way more time working around the limitation than its worth. As a new user of Xero, I'm incredulous. I've worked with multiple accounting software platforms over the years, and never been exposed to such a massive limitation like this. It's almost a dealbreaker, and for some clients it certainly is. I've been looking for a viable…

Appreciate why Bank Rules won't help for cash accounts and where you don't have a bank feed coming into the account.
Being open, this isn't something we have plans for changing in the short-term. We'll leave the idea open for our product team to continue considering how we could improve efficiency in some of the situations you've described. If there are any updates we'll share this with you all here.

Payroll AU - Add running totals to Transaction Listing Details Report
Can a total be added under the amount on this report.
If a total was available, I wouldn't need to export to excel simply to add a total before sharing the report.Ideally, the total would also apply to groups on the report, ie, total by employee and total for all employees.
1 voteThanks for letting us know you'd like the Transaction Listing Details Report to have a total per Employee and or Group when you filter the report by Group.
As you've found, the report will only show itemised values. One work around would be to export the report to Excel or Google sheets and add a summary total manually. We'd also suggest taking a look at the Transaction Listing Summary Report.

MTD for ITSA - Facility to export a PDF of quarterly returns
It's currently not possible to export the Income Tax Self Assessment figures for the MTD for Income Tax quarterly submissions as a PDF to include them in a documents pack for client's approval via e-signature in Xero.
This would be helpful from April 2026, so accountants can gain client's approval prior to submission with HMRC.

Profit & Loss - Ability to show percentages with Tracking Categories
On the Profit and Loss report there is no ability to show percentages, if tracking categories are used as a filter. We want to see COGS as a percentage of trading income, and Net Profit as a percentage of trading income.
8 votesHi Karen, thanks for submitting this idea. Showing percentages in the Profit & Loss report when using Tracking Categories would make it easier to see how different projects, departments, or locations are performing at a glance.
This feature would give you clearer insights and save time by reducing the need to export data and crunch numbers in spreadsheets.
This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this would help your reporting, please add your vote or share your thoughts, it really helps the product team understand the impact.

Reporting - Make the Edit Report layout more seamless
Is there a plan in place to update the Edit Report layout to be more user friendly!
In particular, it is clunky inserting tables and being able to edit like a simple word doc (bold, italic, line spacing etc.)
Also being able to print off the reports in the 'edit' mode so you can see the expanded breakdown of the accordian would be very helpful to ensure that Notes match Statements of Financial Performance and Position (especially useful for our juniors who often can't work out where their subcodes are if there have been reporting changes)2 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

MTD For Income Tax (UK) - Accounts selection
When we eventually have to submit quarterly IT reports to HMRC, it will be very very helpful to be able to select which income accounts, and which expense accounts are include in the submission. Similar to being able to produce a custom profit and loss report. The reason being that some income or expense categories might be something that only gets included in the year end tax return calculations. My particular scenario as a sole trader is operating only one bank account, into which goes all my income, but out of which comes not only 100% business expenses, but also…

Manual Journals - Ability to Sort and Filter search results
Currently you are unable to concurrently search and sort results in manual journals, and can only do one or the other. Searching resets the sort to default (newest first), and sorting clears search parameters.
Please consider adding the ability to do both.
8 votesHey Jon, thanks for sharing this idea. Being able to sort and filter manual journals from the Manual Journals screen would make things a lot easier, especially when you're trying to track something down quickly.
We really appreciate you calling out how this could save time and help streamline your workflow. While some sorting/filtering is possible via the Manual Journal screen, we get that it’s not quite the same and adds a few extra steps.

MTD for Income Tax (Employed Income)
As well as my self-employment, I received income through Employment that currently I cannot declare through Xero's MTD for Income Tax implementation, and therefore I cannot use Xero for filing. The addition of allowing me to declare income through Employment via Xero would allow me and others like me to do so.
3 votesHi Oliver, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you highlighting how important it is to declare employed income alongside self-employment income within Xero’s MTD for Income Tax implementation. Our product team is aware of this request and it’s on their radar as we assess future improvements. In the meantime, please add your vote and comments on this idea to help us understand demand across the community 🙂

CIS Monthly Return - To include material only bills
Material only bills to be included on the CIS monthly return report to make it easier to reconcile the CIS materials nominal code to the report, confirming that all invoices have been included in the report.

NZ GST - Keep separate Late Claims tab
The New GST layout needs to keep the "Late Claims" separate on the transaction details report. Lumping them all together with income or expense and then the totals don't tie into the numbers on the face of the GST return is frustrating. I can see you can filter by "late claims" but we don't want to have to export and manipulate the data when sending the documents to clients.
It doesn't make sense that the detailed transaction report doesn't match the face of the GST return without manipulating
90 votesThank you for your feedback on the changes for NZ GST returns here, everyone. Late Claims display in the body of the return, to review them. If you click on this the Transaction tab will open and to toggle Late claims on and off, select the 'More' option.
Late claims have been separated into their own section in the Transactions tab, and if needed you can also use the Filter to choose to only view Late Claims. We'll soon be updating the export to PDF to allow late claims to be excluded.
We want to be open that we don't have plans for separating these back into their own tab and will close this idea. We still very much appreciate your feedback and will continue to iterate on this overtime to make filling and filing GST for an organisation simpler and more efficient.

Notification - Advisor to receive email when W9 request is completed by vendor
When we send a W9 request to a vendor via Xero the only way we have to know if they have completed the W9 request is by logging back into Xero and manually navigating to that vendor to check in on it.
It would be great if admins/bookkeepers could receive a notification when the vendor completes the W9 request.
Having that email notification of a vendor completing a w9 request would also enable us to trigger other automations.

BAS - Include unfiled amounts when producing custom date reports for BAS audit purposes.
I currently can't export the quarterly activitiy statement due to too many transactions so produce monthly reports via custom date reports, however there is no option here to include unfiled amounts and therefore the reports are not matching the quarterly statement amount.
1 voteAppreciate your idea about BAS reporting, Michelle! It’s great to hear how including unfiled amounts in custom date reports could help with your audit workflow.

Reports - Add reports for eInvoices
Hi Xero Support,
We've been generating individual e-invoice from Xero/Invoici for months, however, we could not find any report on e-invoice generated through Xero/Invoici.
This report could help us in ensuring accuracy of the data exported to MyInvois portal. We would require a specific report on the generated individual e-invoices to make sure that they tally with the sales invoices report from Xero.
Thanks!
8 votesThanks for sharing this valuable feedback about your experience with e-invoicing.
We've reviewed your idea for a dedicated report on generated e-invoices. We understand how this would be crucial for ensuring the accuracy of data you export to the MyInvois portal and for tallying with your Xero sales reports.
Your suggestion is now open to gain support from the wider community. Along with votes, others can now comment to share how an e-invoicing report could improve their own reconciliation and data validation processes. 🙂

Reporting - Matrix view for Invoice and Bill activity by contact per month
Hi Xero Product Team,
I’d like to share a reporting idea that I think would add a lot of value for finance teams who need a quick, complete ledger-style view of activity—beyond what Aged Debtors/Creditors currently provides.
The gap today
Aged Debtors and Aged Creditors are very useful, but they focus on what is still outstanding (unpaid/part-paid). There isn’t an easy way to see all invoices or bills (paid, unpaid, and partially paid) in a single monthly overview, broken down by customer/supplier.
Proposed report (Invoices)
A new report / analytics view that displays a matrix:
Rows: Customers (one under the…

Reporting - Show daily/monthly Income target graph
Hi, i think for a team who have targets each week, it would be good to have a report that is a bar graph with the income so far that day, week, month with a line across the bars coming up with a line for average and one for target. The only report that comes cross i could find gave to much info as this is for our admin/coordinators and they dont have access to all the financials they only need the income for the day/week and see if they have met the target.

AU Tax - Confirmation for lodging tax return
On the 'to file' tab when you click into a client's tax return there's a blue button that says 'File' right next to the three dots that you would click to suspend a return. I believe this is too easy to accidently click and can lead to tax returns being lodged on accident. If there was a pop up that says something like 'Would you like to lodge now' that would be a good safeguard.
1 voteAppreciate how this could be done by mistake, Amber. Thanks for sharing your idea in the forums here. While this isn't something we have plans around at present we'l keep an eye on the interest your idea grows and be sure to share if there are any updates.

Reporting | PDF Preview - Enhance scroll and zoom behaviour
The PDF preview pane is fantastic... except a page can be lengthy and it doesn't let you scroll on it.
If I hover my cursor on the PDF preview and scroll (using the scroll wheel of my mouse), it zooms. I almost never need to zoom on it. If I needed to Zoom I would hold control and scroll, like I would on any other browser page.
I have to move my cursor to this skinny panel either side of the page to be able to scroll, or grab the skinny scroll bar (to the right, not the left).
