  1. I'm currently doing superannuation for a client, having finalised their last payrun for the month. I've got the superannuation accruals report up on screen, so I can match that to what I'm paying, and to the bill in which I allocate each employee and direct contractor's super to the project they're working on.

    Hi Freya thanks for your feedback on this UI. I can see that the report(s) does not automatically scale it to the size of the window. We've moved this idea to gain more support and will monitor this for more traction.

  2. It would save time and avoid accounting errors if a new document type existed (akin to Bills) that can be sent to recipients (contacts) generating the accounting transactions appropriate for distributions such as dividends and appointments from trusts. Those transactions would be on equity and assets accounts (not expense accounts and accounts payable as is the case for Bills).

    It would be great if such processing could be applied to contacts in bulk (e.g. a shareholders register) but the possibility of accounting for distributions singly would be a good start.

  3. Can we have the ability to run a P&L report using the original transaction values rather than calculated values based on the exchange rate that's been set. For example, my base currency is GBP but we need to report the P&L for a division in Spain in Euros based on actual cash figures. The multi-currency P&L report in Xero allows me to select to produce the report in Euros but for some reason it calculates all the figures based on the fixed exchange rate that has been entered rather than using the original / actual Euro transaction figures entered.   4. Xero allows us to choose whether or not we show decimals in an Income Statement. We believe showing 2-decimal places on revenue and expenses to be unnecessary, but feel it is VERY important to show 2-decimals on the % of revenue. It is better to show .04% than .00% and .05% than 1%. We would like to see Xero separate the option of decimals between numbers verses percentages so our clients can have a clear grasp on their performance.

  6. It would be good if on the taxable payments annual report, when it shows that the ABN has been 'provided' that this is also linked whether the ABN status is GST registered or not. This would be an easy checking tool that the GST charges has been properly done so and would make the person lodging the form to easily identify whether or not GST should be charged or not.   7. We need to be able to edit the start and end dates on an ITR to accommodate clients with a substituted accounting period. For companies and trusts, this is manageable because Xero allows the period start and end dates to be edited to reflect the SAP, but the same functionality doesn't exist for Individuals Tax Returns.

  8. Report Codes ability to edit from Chart of Accounts, not separate area. I see that you have marked previous suggestions as completed, because you've added a button. It isn't a button we are seeking, it is the ability to edit directly within COA, rather than having to go elsewhere. The elsewhere is still a useful tool to help identify when clients have added their own codes, but from a click minimisation perspective why not have COA and Report Codes integrated, and provide us with a field to add our nominated report code.

    Hi Brenda, just to confirm is it within the graph that you're wanting to increase the # of top customers?

    Currently, if you run the Income by Contact report with Chart & table the chart will only show the top 10 but the table will give you an ordered list for all contacts that you received income from in the period.

I would like to recommend adding 'Effective Date of VAT Registration' on the Financial settings, as this information can easily disappear amongst all the many documents we store for the client and also easily mistaken as the Date of company incorporation that can lead to many issues down the line with HMRC.

  11. I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND A PRODUCT UPDATE ON THE PROFIT & LOSS REPORT.

    THE REPORTS 'Net Profit' ON ALL REPORTS, EVEN IF SOME PERIODS HAVE A LOSS. CAN IT INCLUDE 'Net Profit/(Loss)' AS PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE NOT IN THE ACCOUNTING FIELD TO KNOW THAT BRACKETS MEANS A LOSS, MAY INTERPRET (LOSS) AS A PROFIT

    Hi Ntando, it'll be good to gauge interest from others in the community that'd like this terminology to be used as a default on the Profit & Loss report.

    Want to be open this isn't anything we have any plans for atm with the customisation that's available.

    As you may already be across, currently you can edit the heading of the row through the Edit layout, and then Save as Custom where you have the option to make the report the default for the organisation.

  13. When preparing a personal tax return it would be great if there was as option to attach files in each section. So we can attach things like bank interest statement, P60, P11d, dividend vouchers, state pension, personal pension etc.

  14. When reviewing reports (e.g., Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet), we often need to view monthly data from the start of the fiscal year up to the current month. Right now, we have to manually select the first and last day of each month every time, which is time-consuming and repetitive. This makes simple tasks like flicking through months to verify data more cumbersome than necessary.

    1. Add “Previous Month” / “Next Month” buttons These buttons would auto-update the report’s date range to the previous or next full month.

    Example: From May 1 – May 31, clicking "Next" moves the report to…

    We don't have any plans for adding more common date options in reports atm, but we'll begin to get a feel of the interest in this from your idea.

  15. When you run an account transaction report, for a balance sheet item, the opening balance always appears in the date column. It would be helpful if Xero could recode this so that the date column is balance date + 1, and the words "opening balance" appear in the source column. The advantage of this is that when you go to use the data, and put in a filter, you don't have to edit this.

  18. Aged Receivables/Payables Summary report to include invoice numbers by default, which is commonly available in other accounting softwares. It is crucial to know the number of invoices and unique invoice reference number for ease of reference when reviewing ageing.

  19. Be able to expand or reduce the size of a column in the depreciation schedule.
    We are finding when we add extra columns it is making the depreciation method column really large and you cant adjust it. Making the page stretched across longer that it needs to be.

    After some testing, we discovered that downloading the file in Excel or Google Sheets format and then saving it as a PDF reduces the column size. While this may not be ideal, it can serve as a temporary workaround.

  20. There are a number of things bugging me regarding the essential task of reconciling bank accounts. The Bank Reconciliation Reports are easy enough to create, but after that it all goes wrong. Nobody seems to have thought about what happens to them after the 'Publish' button is pressed! Here's what I think - and please please please vote for this or nothing will change.

    1) I would like to see bank reconciliation reports having their own dedicated space. They are currently hidden away in Reports>Published, mixed up with all the other published reports. Please create a new Bank Reconciliation Reports…
